Ravens interested in Ryan Clark

The Steelers are being decimated this offseason, what kind of crack are you smoking that has them being an improved team next year?

who Sanders please his best season is 67 catches and 700 yards that is nothing a rookie can't do Cotchery yeah he had 10 tds but he is also very replaceable. Clark is done Mitchell is absolutely an upgrade. The beard is old but he will probably be back. We still have a great QB, a great wr, a very good TE and an extremely young online that was really coming together down the stretch also don't forget about bell. Like I said earlier if he didn't miss the first 4 games the steelers make the playoffs last year. The steelers will be opening the gates in the no huddle this year and Ben proved he can pick apart a defense when he is making the adjustments. I expect them to take a WR in the first be it Evans or Benjamin maybe go TE with Ebron. One of them Brown and Wheaton is great set if they go Ebron then WR has some questions still but nothing that can't be answered as they are still shopping for some.

Now onto the defense they lost hood who lost his starting job to Hayward around week 8, Woodley who lost his to Worlds, and Clark and he has already been replaced and Foote who other then leadership didn't offer much. They have a lot of youth and potential on this defense. At ilb they have Williams and Garvin battling out and both showed they could play as rookies, that have shamarko Thomas waiting in the wings in the secondary and huge unknown is Sean Spence who is way ahead of schedule. At DE they got nick Williams and Brian Arnfelt.

They also added some great coaches and their pick up of the year is probably Munchak.

Wheaton is a speed guy. He's not the same as brown. Brown is really good and proven. He's hard to cover and more than just because of his speed. Wheaton might be a one trick pony. Brown isn't.

I don't think wheaton is a one trick pony he runs very sharp routes. All reports compare him to Brown but yes he is very fast and shifty as Oregon State also used him as a RB. Here is a good scouting report on him http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1665268/markus-wheaton

But you said same as Brown. That's an exaggeration. If that was so, he'd have done it last yr. I agree with the speed and shiftiness. But he still might be a one trick pony. Let's see him beat Smith or Webb consistently before we say he's as good as Brown. You HOPE he's as good as Brown. I believe that!

I meant same mold as brown yeah to say he is anywhere near the wr brown is would be a huge stretch.

Ok, I'm clear then. I think we have to find a safety but I think Smith is going to be even better this yr. Webb is going to be all the way back . Elam is going to make plays at SS. I want to see Arthur Brown get busy but I'm optimistic about our D. The questions are the Oline and Ray Rice on offense. I can't wait until the draft! So many possibilities.

It's quite possible the Steelers and Ravens will be very interested in the FS Dixon around the time they draft in the first round.

I think you're right. The Steelers have been linked to Dix for a while now. I think we go offense in the 1st round unless Dix is there and Evans is gone. We may go after the FSU safety. His name escapes me. #20. Maybe he lasts until the 2nd. I don't know his draft grade but I think it's 2nd rd.

I think the steelers are confident in Mitchell at FS I think it will be Evans, Benjamin, or Ebron depending on who is there. I could also see the steelers going with Barr if he falls that far.

Everyone likes Evans, that's why I doubt he will make it past 10. If he did, you have to take him. I like Benjamin but I think he's a. 2nd rounder. Early 2nd rounder. I'd be happy to get Evans or Benjamin and Joyner. But we may need to go O line.

luckily oline is deep this year as is wr. I agree Benjamin would be a reach at 15 but if that's what they need. My dream draft would be Ebron in the 1st and Street in the 4th. I always try and guess who the steelers are drafting and then come draft day this player falls that player falls and I'm never right. I could see Gilbert only Denmark as well. I think the Ravens need to go either oline or WR in the first. I would also say they need a RB in the top 4.

I think there's a lot of stars coming out of this draft. Big splashers.

Yeah this draft is deep in every category except imo the big one. I don't see one QB you can point and say this guy is going to be the franchise. Now there will still be 4 taken in the top 10 but it's going to be hard to miss in first two maybe three rounds. This is why I wouldn't mind if the steelers reached a little bit to take Benjamin if Evans is gone. As said he won't make it to the steelers in the second but someone else will. I know they still will but really teams shouldn't need anywhere near the full time limit. I'm really excited to see how it all plays out. Lmao this thread has officially become a general football talk thread.

Lol. I guess so. I like Benjamin myself but I'm an FSU fan too so I try not to get too high on him. The QBs in this draft are going to need some work and the right system. No can't miss guys at QB. Like I don't think manziel would work in Cleveland. Back to the thread. Clark isn't the athletic guy we need. Maybe a backup SS. But really I think he'll end up elsewhere. Redskins probably in the end.

What a better way to neutralize Ben? Why not bring in a guy that has practiced everyday of his career facing Ben. They both came in the league the same year, he'll Ben has taken more shots then Clark has given. I see nothing wrong with this move, it gives us a leg up on the division.

Except it goes against everything the Ravens said last year; they wanted to get younger. So adding two 35+ year old players is; getting younger? Frankly, I love the guy, smart, crafty smart, tremendous instincts, but no wheels. He just can't get there any more. This would be a good move from a coaching stand point, but nothing more. The Ravens know Ben well, no need for any ideas from former Steeler players.

Yeah I agree, but there's not a whole lot out there for Oz to get. Maybe Clemons but who knows. I don't want a rookie draftee out there. This could be a Huff situation where we get an older guy... gets blown up and they're left looking for a plan B. Oz has a lot of wholes to fill this offseason maybe FS might be one thats left open till camp/preseason.

exactly! No wheels. We already have one short term solution, don't want too many.
