Cribbs' future with Browns in doubt

Great message to send to the NFL. When they wonder why Free Agents refuse to go there...this is one of the reasons why.

....this situation has gone from cordial to awful.

Agent Peter Schaffer said Cribbs is being low-balled by the team and both are extremely upset about it. Cribbs made $900,000 this past season, and the Browns offered to raise his salary to $1.4 million over the final three years of his contract.

"Not only is it insulting, but it's illogical," Schaffer said of Cleveland's offer.

Cribbs said this via Twitter: "Thanks everyone, I love playing for the browns & put my all in to it, but it doesn't look good 4me at this point on returning."

Yeah Force I know what you are saying but he definitely is worth more then that, he ran a lot out of the wildcat and they really started to use him more offensively later in the season. He can get 4 Mil from a team (like us) that needs a dynamic playmaker on offense and in the return game.

Didn't that dude Dante Hall make good (but not hella) money for what he offered in KC? I think Cribbs is worth a long look, especially for teams that low-ball and overturn their return guys alot and get inconsistent results. Special teams is a legitimate 3rd wing and returners are moreso now an engine of that vehicle.

  • 3 weeks later...

He single-handedly beat the Steelers - like Dee said he's their whole offense. He gives them great field position on offense and has the record for Kick return TDs. They need to pay him more than what they're offering.

No. We need to pay this guy. Man, how would this help out our team. It aint gonna happen but its sure nice to dream.

Hey, I just woke up !!!

Compare this to the 4-year, up-to 40 million dollar contract Devin Hester signed with Chicago in 2008.

Special-teams gunners make more than Cribbs is being offered. It's ridiculous to suggest that a player of Cribbs' talent take less than 2 or 3 million a year.

Especially not for a team like the Browns.
