Clemson draft prospect Brandon Thomas tears ACL

For the players hoping to be drafted next month by the NFL, the time between now and then is filled with training.

And holding their breath.

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, Clemson offensive lineman Brandon Thomas suffered a torn ACL while working out last week.

Thomas, who played left tackle at Clemson but projects inside in the NFL, could have been a third- or fourth-round pick if healthy.

But this news will cost him thousands in terms of bonus, if he’s drafted at all, as anyone who wants him knows they’ll get at most three years worth of contract for him.

This could be the steal of the draft. You sign him and IR him ASAP.

Then a 6th

Yeah, I agree with that. I might even spend the 5th on him. I think we have a great chance of drafting some good O-Line talent in this draft. We should be able to get someone to challenge for the starting RT spot and if we add Thomas he would provide great depth on the interior spots.

5 is high. You are looking at taking a flyer.

For a borderline 2nd round talent it's not. Assuming we get another RT we have the interior depth to deal with "redshirting" him for a season. You then have a talent capable of challenging for a starting spot that can push Osemele and Yanda to be even better. At worst you have great depth. It would also tie in with Gradkowski and Shipley being Free Agents after this coming season.

We did it with Kapron so why not Thomas?
