ForceEight
Burress suspended for the rest of the season, including playoff games. Antonio Pierce is being hounded by police for a cover-up. Ahmad Bradshaw isn't far behind. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress is done for the year. The New York Giants fined and suspended Burress on Tuesday for four games -- the rest of the regular season -- after he accidentally shot himself in the right thigh over the weekend at a Manhattan nightclub. The team also placed him on the reserve non-football injury list, which means the wide receiver couldn't come back for the playoffs, either. The team punished Burress a day after he was charged with illegal weapons possession, which carries a penalty of 3½ to 15 years in prison if he's convicted. Burress is due back in court again on March 31, unless he reaches a plea agreement. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3738905
vmax
They gave him that big contract and he took the money and screwed the organization. He could be in jail for the next 3.5 years and lose millions. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. I think the Giants will survive this but it makes them less a lock to win the Super Bowl. dc.
I would hardly say they are imploding. Plaxico shot himself before this weekend's game and they certainly didn't show any signs of being troubled by it in their romp over the 'Skins. They look to be far and away the league's best team right now. And Ahmad Bradshaw is their 3rd stringer... behind two very very capable backs. I get the feeling they could do without him. ravinmaniac52
They sure don't look like the same team today!
