Baltimore D

Only 2 games, but these stats are not bad considering who the Ravens played....

•8 -- Yards given up rushing in the red zone
•6 -- Yards given up passing in the red zone
•0 -- Opposing quarterback rating in the red zone
•2.33 -- Average yards given up on red-zone plays
•1 -- Baltimore’s rank in the NFL in red-zone efficiency
•1 -- The number of touchdowns the Ravens have given up in two games.http://espn.go.com/blog/cleveland-browns/post/_/id/8085/behind-the-stats-ravens-at-browns-week-3

If they can stop Leavelands running game then they leave with a W.

Points may be at a premium in this game....Browns D is good too.

Couldn't agree more. After upsetting the Saints and practically upsetting the Stealers at Heinz, that team will be absolutely pumped on Sunday.

Plus, Pettine would love nothing better than to beat his old coach and friend Harbaugh. This all points to a super amped up crowd and inspired performance by the Browns.

Max, Max, Max...... giving only the redzone stats?

So far in two games the defense is giving, through the rest of the field, 4.0 yards per carry, on 22 attempts per game, 8th best in the NFL. QB' s are completing 62% of their passes for an 82 qbr, 10th best in the league after two games. Six passes over 20, one of those over 40.

If there was a stat for missed tackles I could find, the Ravens would be in the tops for, most per game.

Side note, the Browns have given up 11 over 20, 9- 20+, 2 over 40, so big plays should be there to be made, especialy since they have only 5 sacks in 2 games. Nothing earth shattering. They are giving up 5 yards per carry on the ground on an average of 28 carries per game. Should be a hard fought game.

Yep. this organization totally blew that one. After all this talk and hyperbole about drafting this local Towson boy; only to have passed on him was a major disappointment. Totally blew that one and I have a feeling we are going to regret it, starting Sunday.

They didn't pass on him. The Browns scooped him up before the Ravens in the same round. Ravens were very interested.

tsyl...yea, the Ravens need to get better at tackling but check out the rest of the league...nobody can tackle....because the CBA limited it in camps. This is the worst that I've seen league wide.

Nice read on Williams....

.......there is still a place for defenders who can clog up running lanes at the line of scrimmage, and Ravens second-year nose tackle Brandon Williams is proving a perfect fit for that job.

“That’s my role,” Williams said. “I definitely attack that role and have a great time doing it.”

Williams, 6-foot-1 and 335 pounds, moved into a starting role alongside Pro Bowler Haloti Ngata this season, and he’s shined as a run stuffer. Williams has just four tackles, but he’s not expected to rack up big tackle numbers because his job is to free up linebackers to make plays.

The Ravens allowed just 79 and 99 rushing yards to the Bengals and Steelers, respectively, and Williams has been a big part of the stout defense up front. After the first two games, Williams graded out as the Ravens’ second-best defender behind Terrell Suggs, according to Pro Football Focus.

“I feel good and feel like things are going well,” Williams said. “I feel like I’m just doing my job. No. 1 thing is to stop the run. “If they get the run going, then they have everything else to work off. You have to stop the run to make them one dimensional. That’s the No. 1 goal.”http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Brandon-Williams-Stout-Against-Run-In-Early-Showing/c7416787-08d3-471a-866a-378f04dde715

Max, I disagree. This guy hung around until what the 4th or 5th round. There was ample time to draft West - a guy the organization really coveted.

Anyway, that ship has sailed but it's frustrating to watch us pass on these guys when the FO knew it eventually needed to replace Rice and West would have been an ideal successor.

Max is right. Both teams stuck to their boards as they should have. Cleveland moved up and snatched him from us. That's how the draft works.
