Remember what Aaron Rogers said. R E L A X.

R-E-L-A-X. That's what we all need to do. This is far from over. Some here act like they want to jump off a bridge. We are tied with Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Cincy has a 1 1/2 game lead. They will probably lose 3 out of their next four. We have the easiest schedule left of all four teams.

Relax. This thing ain't over.

This year may not be our year, but I am not worried. We have rebuilt our defense with a front seven that stops the run. We banked on Elam and Webb being good players for us in the secondary, and the injuries to Jackson and Smith did not help. Now we know what we have in the secondary, and I am sure we will address it this offseason.

On offense, we are in a really good spot. The offensive line is talented and tough, and Kubiak will have no problems finding runningbacks. We just need more sure-handed receivers who can read zone coverages and get off the press.

As frustrating as this season has been, the team is in a good place going forward. I think we are really close. Just a few more pieces.

I agree with your analysis. The future is pretty bright if Kubiak stays. If he leaves and his system doesn't survive here we'll be in trouble. One thing I've noticed about Joe, and it also affects his completion percentage, is that he likes to go deep even when it's not open, He does much better when he adheres to the Kubiak system of quick release, intermediate passes and a strong ground game. I think Campanaro will help here. Getting a good running back is pretty easy these days (in fact Taliaferro just might be the long-term solution there). We definitely need a beast receiver and that seems to be a strength in the next draft.

Cornerback help is going to be tough. Smith and Webb have to stay healthy and nothing in their track record gives me confidence here. We need to find two cornerbacks and a safety. Elam keeps showing me every week that he's not an NFL class safety. At least so far.

Yep, especially If the pieces include a shutdown corner, safety to complement Hill, younger pass rusher and a beast tight end. We do that and we'll be Allright.

A shutdown corner is damn hard to find. don't give up on the young safeties yet. If Elam can't perform next yr walk away. Brooks is a rookie.

I think an elite offensive target for Joe is more important. Almost all of the draft last yr was on D.

Smith last yr stayed healthy all yr. The foot this yr is a freak thing. It is not something that lingers. His first two yrs I think he had to learn to get past the regular pains of the NFL.

While we are it, we needed and still need toughness and leadership on the D. You can't overestimate the veteran leadership that is missing on our D, especially in our secondary.

Guys like Ray and Reed would have somehow, some way willed the team to a W yesterday.

I don't see a single player on D or O who provides that quality. This team sorely misses that.

Yep. We were spoiled for several years with not just 1 but 2 HOFers on D. We may not ever see another 1, much less 2, on the same team. It's too bad we wasted that decade + of defensive excellence. Of course, we could get lucky and one may fall in our lap. The Mosley kid has a couple good qualities and may be something to build on.
