Provide depth at cornerback. Marlin Jackson, a free agent from the Indianapolis Colts, is scheduled to visit the Ravens on Tuesday, according to a league source. A first-round selection in 2005, he started in 2007 and 2008. Jackson sustained torn knee ligaments in practice the past two seasons to finish on injured reserve.

How many corners do we need I wonder? Perhaps the front office is not opptomistic about the recovery of either or both of Webb and Washington. I thought Webb and Carr played very well at the end of last year, so with adding Washigton back into the mix I figured we would be pretty solid. Webb, Washington, Foxworth, and Carr I thought was a very solid four. I would think that Oz would have added through the draft again perhaps in a later round.

Doing my best Preston lol, I would have to say that we're either not optomistic about recovery of an individual and/or Oz doesn't feel the draft is deep in corners and has his eyes on other positions.

I say our pass coverage would be best served finding a pass rusher that can line up opposite of Suggs. More pressure will increase our coverage ability dramatically.

IC, that's a disappointment, I really liked that guy. Refresh my memory if you would....does the pup list mean he won't play next year at all? I seem to remember there's a point in the season where a guy can come off the list and play but if they're on it, they have to stay on it after that point.

You spend the first six weeks of the season on the inactive list. After that the team has the choice of activating the player or putting him on IR. From what I have heard Webb is working very hard with his rehab. He canceled a trip he had planned to the football to stay in Baltimore to rehab. You can only do so much when it comes to rehabbing an ACL injury. On a side note, it will be exciting to see the day where medical technology has progressed to the point where an ACL can be healed in a couple of months. You know that day is coming, just think, an ACL used to be a year to two year injury. Now players are coming back in six months.

The thing to remember about Webb is that he is a smaller guy. So it might be easier for his knee to heal as he does not put as much weight on it. At the same time Webb's game is built around speed. So if he is not up to full speed, he will not be of any use.

Thanks Cleetz, I knew it was something like that. It'll be interesting to see how he progresses. I hope he makes a full recovery, he was turning into a playmaker.

Does that now mean we have a need for a returner? Wouldn't it be nice to have a Jermaine Lewis type again? Someone that would make a Special teams.....well "special" again.

Then we would be an absolute force, a threat from all three aspects of the game.

Well there is no way that the latter portion of this comment could be accurate!

This is an incredibly deep CB class with a lot of value:

Joe Hayden, Florida (Top 12 pick)

Kyle Wilson, Boise State (May be the next Raven @ #25)

Devin McCourty, Rutgers (Also may be the pick @ #25)

Kareem Jackson, Alabama (Mid 1st to Early 2nd)

Patrick Robinson, Florida State (Late 1st to Mid 2nd)

Perrish Cox, Oklahoma State (Mid to Late 2nd)

Chris Cook, Virginia (Late 2nd to Early 3rd; Keep your eye on this guy!!)

Donovan Warren, Michigan (Late 2nd to Early 3rd)

Jerome Murphy, South Florida (Early to Mid 3rd)

Amari Spievey, Iowa (Early to Mid 3rd)

.....and on, and on, and on!

Trust me the CB class this year is one of the stronger classes of the draft behind O-Line and D-Line!

WR and TE isn't too shabby either. Fortunately for the Ravens this year, their biggest positions of needs are the strongest in the draft!

Mike Duffy from BR.com tweeted this a few days ago about Webb

Just saw Ravens CB Lardarius Webb at team facility. He's starting to do some running after torn ACL. Now it's about building strength.

Don't know what that means as far as being ready for the season opener but atleast he's on track.

If that is the case.....I'd have to point to my earlier portion....Oz must not be optimistic about recovery and/or the capabilities of our secondary. Hmmmmm.

What I like about Oz is that he attempts to shore up the team as much as possible before the draft so that we can always draft BPA for the most part. That makes things very exciting.

Do you have to have ACL problems to play on the Ravens secondary? I'm sure the Ravens will give him a very thorough physical. The price must be right and Jackson was real good before he got hurt.

Whatever...the Ravens need CB's.
