Ravens propose 2 rule changes/New safety rule also considered

The safety rule would bring the ball out to the 25 yard line to kick instead of the 20 yard line after a safety.

The Ravens proposed a rule that players would have to wear numbers by positions instead of #49 to insert to a different a player into a different position.

The Ravens also proposed a 3rd challenge for coaches. Hell, HARBs doesn't know when to challenge the first time. In the first game vs Cleve early in the year their receiver dropped the ball and it was under his thigh. The guy grabbed it and it was called a TD by official who didn't see it hit the ground. Game should have been over with a W for Ravens. HARBs never challenged it. He's supposed to have someone upstairs telling him to when he can't see the ball.

As for the one with position numbers, it's going to seem like sour grapes after the NE game two years ago and why are they waiting now to propose the new rule?

Last year we lost a potential TD when Urschell came in as an eligible receiver and notified the ref. He caught the ensuing pass but Ravens were penalized instead for failing to have a lineman report in as an eligible receiver. That's why Harbs is promoting it this year.

Urschell was the linemen. He was Center or LG or didn't he stipuate which, but he is a lineman.

NE fans think the rule is about them and are laughing at the rule proposals by the Ravens because they beat us by them but the old rule was done away with by NFL.

A media type might be right saying it's not practical for big fat lineman to do all that running back and forth-lol.

Anyway, Brady was booed the hell out of the SB stadium when they announced him before the game.

A little hypocritical of Bisciotti, right? He said over the offseason the rule book is too thick.

Hell the ref acknowledged him then they threw the flag. I think a better idea is to replace all the officials.

This x100. Hire officials full time with full benefits, this offseason training is required. There should be fitness tests to ensure that decision making is not compromised by fatigue ("fatigue makes cowards of us all" is what my high school football coach always said). Eye sight should be 20-20, or the officials should be required to wear appropriate eyewear that gets them to that point.

Tennis has had laser point technology for years that can determine whether a ball hits a line. Can the NFL stop being cheap and place this technology on every sideline and goal line?

Finally, to speed up the review process it should be more like the MLB. Have a full team of officials watching every game in New York/LA. If there is anything questionable the office buzzes down to the field and makes a quick decision from the office. Fox and CBS have their rule analysts who are former officials in their booths, and they can always seem to get the call right.

I wish they would make or address some real changes. Change the defensive holding penalty from an automatic first down to just yards gained.

This would make it a little more "even". They should also look at offensive PI, and defensive PI which is a spot foul, and make them a little more equal like say 15 yards for each.

But they wont, they would rather toss some one out for verbal sparring that results in unsportsmanlike conduct twice.

I am really starting to hate the NFL game.
