A few questions

1. How well will we wrap up Big Ben this game ?. We missed him on a few occasions in the last game (I have never seen a luckier QB in my life) and it killed us on the TD pass to Holmes (I believe). This is a huge key in this game. We have to got to sack this guy multiple times and/or force him to run for his life !

2. I am wondering who is going to pick up RB Mewelde Moore. I dont know any of our LBs can keep up with this guy - he's fast and shifty. The Steelers are going to run this little dump off play 2-3 times (maybe more). It killed us the last time in the OT loss when Moore ran for about 25-30 yds (before Reed's game winning FG). Rex needs to scheme and smother this guy, esp. on 3rd down plays.

3. We have got to be mentally tougher than the Steelers this game. We cant let Hines Ward get in our heads again. I believe our guys (JJ, Suggs) have learned to punch the other guy in the mouth, shut up, and then play the game. Bart Scott needs to wrap up and sack Big Ben, shut his mouth, and get ready for the next play.

4. In spite of the Steelers run D (which is like ours), I am wondering whether we can run the ball hard enough and effectively to open up the pass game. Joe is going to be blitzed from all directions and the OL has got be ready.

A solid running game with LeRon or the 3 headed monster is essential.

5. Has Joe matured enough and learned from the first game to avoid costly errors and game changing plays ? Cam, Joe and the O line has got to account for Harrison, Woodley and Troy P. If Joe gets in trouble (and he will) he needs to take care of the ball or get rid of it quickly.

Thoughts anyone ?

I've got a feeling we'll have addressed wrapping Ben up by now. Even Scott will have to acknowledge his past failures.

I'm not worried about Moore...............maybe on the dump off pass, but rushing wise I'm not worried. Seems the Steelers vaunted running game has been struggling some, that's not a good thing going against us. (Although, I'm sure TB was thinking the same thing this past Monday! Eek)

We beat the Steelers once this year in their place with a rookie QB that was hardly ready............the Steelers better be ready for this one in our place or the game will get away from them quickly.......Tomlin has already acknowledged that.

Joe has been good at picking up the blitz and making halftime adjustments, I'm confident we'll handle the blitz.

Thanks Yager ! Here's hoping that you are spot on !

Big Ben has been sacked 41 times this year, his O-line just aint doing it. Moore has been a very pleasent surprise for them. He will probably be in max protect most of the day.

Hear's is the script for Sunday.

Stealers can not run.

Stealers have to pass, ben is sacked or hurried and we get a few turnovers.

Ravens go up by two scores and it snowballs and we win in a blowout.

Athough this situation could happen to us, far less likely

Is it Sunday yet, I am like a kid waiting for Xmas

I agree with this, but I think the ravens will be in max protect too, due to harrison just tearing up our tackles. Its going to come down whether or not our wrs can get open. They have better wr, so i feel it will be tougher for us on both sides.

Lets not forget in the beginning of the year, Joe didnt utilize Todd Heap..Seems here of late he has, that'll slow Harrison down..Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeapppppppppp

Cam has had 1 good look at them already. Now he'll have a game plan that will have the Ravens O scoring more than enough points to win.

It's like this.

The fans want this win bad.

The Players want this win bad.

But the Ravens coaching staff.....they are the capital "K" in Killers. That is one serious, hungry, gutsy, agressive and intelligent bunch. They want this win so friggn'n bad.

There's one thing on their mind: Shock the World.

I have supreme confidence in the coaching staff to make sure that Joe is adequately game planned for all the stuff the Pittsburgh D is going to throw at them. Harrison scares the hell out of me - that dude can bring some serious pain. But if we can hit all of our assignments and give Joe Cool more time to scan the field, I think we'll have a very fun afternoon.

This is a QB duel. Neither team is going to run on each other - we know that. It's going to come down to which QB can make the fewest mistakes.

And we had harrison on our practice squad

Actually, we just had him on the offseason roster in 2004, he never made it to the practice squad.

The team signed him on 2/11/04 and sent him off to NFL Europe along with a WR named Moore and a TE named Hill.

He was assigned to the Rhein team (he wore #53) and played 5 games before getting hurt and shutting down his NFL Europe season. He was back here for OTA's in June of that year and was cut before training camp started. They never gave him a chance but apparently the team just didn't like him personally.

The team sent quite a few players to NFL Europe that year, in addition to Hill above (Moore never made it out of the combined NFL Europe training camp in Orlando) they sent Tony Pashos, Todd Devoe and Aubrayo Franklin.

Harrison was a whiff by the front office and coaching staff, fortunately for us their whiffs are few and far between.

I heard that Harrison had potential, but also had an attitude problem, to the point of being un-coachable. Which is why he was let go.

The Steelers at one point, also cut him for the same reason. I believe an injury to a Steeler linebacker in the preseason was the only reason the Steelers brought Harrison back.

Clearly Harrison grew up attitude wise, and so the Steelers reap the benefits.

Theres an article in the Post Gazette on Harrison and that 04 season..He ripped the Ravens orginization for sending him to NFL Europa.

He's not all golden. He was arrested for domestic assault this past offseason after hitting his girlfriend. He got away with it within the organization solely because of his value on the field - the Steelers released their 4th string WR for the same situation which led the local media to question the double standard.
