season summed up in one play

No, not the one you are thinking of at the end of the game, rather the one that Should have ended the game for the most part.

First and goal just outside the five, first play after a big play to Wallace, 4th quarter.... They had been chewing up yards on the ground, first time all year, and they choose to pass... Stupid...

Then, 2 inside slants, Joe looks one of them off as he should, to move the linebacker over and leave Pita wide open. It worked perfectly until Joe tried to throw the outer of the 2 inside slants. The very same linebacker he moved over with his look picks it off... He hits the proper man, Pita, touchdown, game over...

Marty calls 3 running plays it is either a touchdown or field goal, game over...

Never mind that the defense, the supposed number one defense was gutted today, again, gave up huge plays, again, gave up first downs via penalty, or over turned- turnovers because of penalties....again

Yes, one play by the defense, Mosely, tipped pass, who was no where to be found today except for a penalty on 3rd down....ends up winning the game, but it goes back to the one play by the offense and what is wrong with it; play calling and execution.

Pit plays well at home and the Ravena can't play on the road this year. Add tonthe fact this defense looks completely spent, this is going to be ugly.

An 11, 13 & 16 play drive this defense gave up, mostly on the ground. They had little pressure, even when they did get pressure, they could not catch up to a quaterback who runs 5.5 in the 40.....

But hey, the team will tell you this team is close....

The defense is gassed in the second half two weeks in a row. They can't get off the field. If we ran a bit more they'd get more of a rest.

Again, too many penalties. Something has been wrong with the coaching on this team ever since Kubes left.

Harbaugh called it the worst call ever - said he should have vetoed it. I have to agree - I mean what do you gain by going for it in that situation? Win by more points? It was complete stupidity.

This team is so dysfunctional. I'd have to look back to find out the exact play, but early in the 4th quarter it was 3rd and 8 or 3rd and 9 from about mid field. At this point we were up 20-14 I think this was shortly after West's long run that we wasted. Flacco rolls to his left and I guess doesn't like what he sees so he throws the ball straight into the ground. I'm thinking "this is exactly why we can't put teams away". We're going too conservative and sitting on a 6 point lead. Then inexplicably we pass on a chance to put the team away and throw on the play you described above. Conservative when we should be aggressive, aggressive when we should be conservative.

Even though gassed, what the hell happened to our D ffront 7 ? How did they die so damn quick ?

That is a great question. They are young and they are deep. I would have to look at snap stats to see how many times they rotated.

But Mosely and Orr are showing us just what some of ua thought; neither is a starter.

I do think Webb is starting to work out at safety, he may need to take a pay cut though....

The biggest issue I saw with the d line was with Williams and Pierce, both were killing the center for the Iggles, blowing him back deep into the back field. Problem, no one else was getting a push so there was a huge gap left open.

This isn't a bad Eagles team. Same team that beat the crap out of the Steelers by 31 points. Same team that beat at the time a very good Vikings team. Look the others up.

And with the same with the Steelers who were getting the crap handed to them in their game today, how much was each team thinking about Christmas game.

They said there was infighting last week. Denver had an argument with the D pissed with the offense last night. I think the D is sick of carrying the offenses water.

Harbs would not veto that pass bc he is not competent to do that. Joe even thought it was a crazy call but his ego for better stats told him not to check out of the play.

BTW...the Ravens won this game and they were basically in control all the way.

Then Mornhinweg, Harbaugh and Flacco have a fundamental brain fart so instead of at least getting 3 points, running another 2 minutes off the clock and all of us sitting here going "Rah Rah!" :gorave: ... .....We are among the multitudinous downtrodden lot of NFL fans who walk this earth at this time of year. :fishin:

Yes...the defense got run over. That's a concern.
