State of the Ravens address?

Does anyone know when it will occur or if it happened already and I missed it?

By "State of the Ravens" I mean the end of season session that the franchise has with the media with Bisciotti, Newsome, Harbaugh typically giving an address and then answering questions. The major event of which was always the address the owner gave.

I always found that very telling. Bisciotti was typically concise and honest. What the owner said, and (almost as important) did not say was always very enlightening for me (both good and bad as a fan).

I hope the team plans on doing that again if they haven't already done it.

Cheers.

The Liars Luncheon is right before the draft.

This is the "We're so close gosh darn it! just a few plays! we almost made it but we will this year cause we're gonna continue to work hard and get better...yea, get better and we will because we really like where we're heading right now so remember to pay your season ticket bill...what? we threw 697 times! maybe we can run a little more I don't know gotta look at the film" Appeal.

Not one damn thing was revealed

Well, not exactly. The Biscutt did call out Sharice Wright, how last year they graded him out higher than Jimmy Smith (now there is another issue- their grading system) yet they did not expect him to blow assignments, lose focus, forget his technique, essentially, every thing he was know to do and why the Ravens were able to get him....

They also then stated they need depth in the secondary and help on the offensive line, oh yes and a "complimentary receiver".....

Basically everything they have needed for the past five plus years... So we can expect the same garbage, trade down in the draft, bust in the first 2-3 rounds, project in rounds 4-6...

Oh they also admitted Elam and Brown were busts but that no one expexted that as they checked ESPN and saw all the praise they were getting for drafting thoae two..

Even though many on this board stated those two would be busts....among other players....

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti: "If I fire John (Harbaugh), a lot of people would be happy except for me, Ozzie (Newsome, GM) and Dick (Cass, team president)." Bisciotti said he can't make a decision that would please his entire fan base and it wouldn't be the actions of a good leader....."The solution to all our problems is to fire our coach, fire our [general manager], fire our offensive coordinator, fire our defensive coordinator and fire [quarterback] Joe [Flacco]," Bisciotti said. "I didn't get where I was by just firing people. I think it's a bad model, especially in this business."....Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti doesn't plan to sell team anytime soon. "I don't see me going anywhere," Bisciotti said.........Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said team's success is playing good defense and balance on offense. "I was really disappointed in the lack of a running game and the lack of a commitment to a running game."..........Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said with a smile: "I haven't given up hope that Steve Smith isn't coming back in September." :gorave:

 Here's the Purple Kool Aid....

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti: "I think John (Harbaugh) can coach better. I think Ozzie (Newsome) and Eric (DeCosta) can draft better. I think Joe (Flacco) can play better. I believe they can collectively bring us back to prominence."

Dupe.... Oh yes and they stated Wagner was a steal, one of the best right tackles in the game.... Mmmmkay then....

Duh. BTW I remember when I said he should be starter in his 2nd yr and so many said that was a horrible idea.

Steve just doesn't understand how to run a football team.

Here we go again...no plan, no changes, no accountability for the coaches and front office. I mean, wtf is going on here? Are they satisfied with mediocrity? The 'plan' is for Joe to play better. Well what makes them think he can? Preston is right: Joe is an average NFL quarterback but paid like he's right up there with the superstars.

We have to draft his replacement this year even if it means the new guy will need a couple years to be ready.

We can't trade or cut Joe because of his cap albatross. The only thing they can do to motivate him is going to be to give him some real competition at his position. And if that doesn't work, then bench him and play the new guy. Somebody needs to send rockets up the asses of Joe, Harbaugh and Ozzie. That is, if they're really want to win. Maybe Steve is satisfied with the one ring and isn't very motivated himself to get another one.

And raising ticket prices after this season probably makes the PS3 owners feel like suckers.

I like this hire.

Adding Roman to the staff is a major step in getting the running game back on track. In Roman's four seasons as the 49ers offensive coordinator (2011-14), San Francisco produced the second-most rushing yards in the NFL (only the Seattle Seahawks had more). As the Bills' offensive coordinator in 2015, Buffalo had the league's top-ranked ground game.

The Ravens' moves to improve the run game likely won't stop here. Coach John Harbaugh indicated Baltimore could add another running back to upgrade the backfield of Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon. The Ravens might further bolster the offensive line with a change at center.

Baltimore knows the value of a strong running game. When Harbaugh led the Ravens to the playoffs in his first five seasons (2008-12), Baltimore totaled the fifth-most rushing yards in the NFL.

"Balance -- I certainly want it, and I certainly do not have anyone up here telling me that I am wrong," said Bisciotti, who was sitting next to Harbaugh, general manager Ozzie Newsome and team president Dick Cass. "How we got away from it, that is something that probably will get behind us pretty quickly, because really, it is what it is. I think it is bad, but I think we will change it.”.....http://www.espn.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/33237/ravens-hiring-of-greg-roman-will-improve-run-game-and-make-their-owner-happy

Upon leaving Houston, he came to Baltimore for two seasons as the assistant offensive line coach, with decidedly mixed results.

In 2006, the Ravens enjoyed the best regular season in team history, going 13-3 and earning the No. 2 AFC playoff seed and a first-round bye.

The offensive line performed admirably in 2006 under Roman and offensive line coach Chris Foerster, allowing a team-record-low 17 sacks and pacing Jamal Lewis to an 1,132-yard season during which he scored nine touchdowns.

The Ravens ran the ball 476 times that year and converted more than 41 percent of their third-down plays while controlling the ball for an average of 32:49 per game.

But the following year, the line allowed 39 sacks and caused a season-ending injury to quarterback Steve McNair, necessitating Kyle Boller's re-emergence as the starter.

As a result, the Ravens lost a team-record nine consecutive games and finished 5-11, leading to the dismissal of head coach Brian Billick after the season....https://www.pressboxonline.com/2017/01/12/reports-ex-ravens-assistant-greg-roman-set-to-return
