I said okay and walked out of locker room. A Ravens media relations staffer followed me into the hallway. “Robert,” he said, “if you ever pull some bulls--- like that, you will never come in this locker room again.” I told him I didn’t understand, and he pressed harder, sticking his finger in my face. “First of all, you know Ray is off limits,” he said. “Second of all, why are you asking questions about murders that happened 13 years ago?” I told him all I did was ask a question, and Lewis declined comment. “That’s it,” he said. “You’re not going back in that locker room today. Get out of here.”

But they were doing an article with the victims family. It would be neglegent not to ask Ray for a comment. In fact had they never asked Ray ppl would be all over them and rightfully so for not asking for a comment.

They were only doing the article because Ray was involved. Had the two thugs got killled while robbing a "nobody", there is no article.

It was all about them getting attention, not the family.

There's a time and a place for such...and that was not it.

Rude.

The article says they were trying to find a good time and place. If you know of a better one you should let the writer know.

There is no reason to ask that, those questions now, save one; to get attention, to make name for one's self. Hack.

Thank you Syl. And so true. No reason for that stupid question to be asked. Whoever Robert is- he can kiss my pearly white ass.

BC it is journalistic ethics.

No, sorry, the 1400 stories afterwards were, not the 1500th.

Journalist today are pretty much a joke, the don't know how to write stories, update stories, edit stories nor even make the headlines.

Their questions are by & large are self promoting and agenda driven. This particular story proves that out.

Then you don't think Ray should be able to give his side to an article?

It's my understanding that Ray handled this perfectly. He said NOTHING, and for very good reason. If this were a courtroom and the lawyer asked this same question, Ray's lawyer would have objected loudly. The Judge would have said, "on what grounds?" His reply would have been a simple, "asked and answered." "Sustained" would be the judges reply and he would have instructed Ray not to answer. So,Ray did the right thing in the first place.

One other thing too. This event in Atlanta happened about 12-13 years ago. This self serving reporter only wanted to stir up the pot of manure so he could get it stinking again. It stopped stinking several years ago. Ray just refused to help this clown stir it up.

It was an interview the the dead guys family. They made accusations against Ray (who I still contend should never have paid them a dime). Ray has every right to answer those accusations when they are made. If he was never given that right it would be wrong.

I never said Ray handled it poorly. I have an issue with Kevin Byrne and his staff. That are not Ray. Also this is not a court. To my knowledge this is the first time the family has ever sat down for a long form interview.

Actually what happened in ATL happened 18 yrs ago. The reporter was obligated by ethics to give Ray a chance to respond.

I guess that's what this is all about. Ethic's. You have yours and I have mine. 18 years ago and you have to ask about it again? At your hall of fame entrance? What could have Ray said that would change anything about what we already know? Nothing, nada, zilch. So why ask it- just to embarass Ray Lewis? Uh, yeah.

C'mon man.
