Will They Be An Upgrade?

I'm talking about the new receiving corps.

Here they are:

Wide receiver (six)

Michael Crabtree

Willie Snead IV

John Brown

Chris Moore

Jordan Lasley

Janarion Grant

I like hearing this.... :gorave:

“Crab tells me every day, ‘We’re going to be doing something serious this year,’ ” Snead said. “And I believe it, too.”

And this....

Flacco’s connection with the threesome has not gone unnoticed.

“They make more plays,” free safety Eric Weddle said. “Over the middle … those contested balls where usually we’re coming down with them [or] breaking them up, they’re coming down with them. Tough catches, where you go back and watch film and you say, ‘Man, that’s going to be a catch in the game. We couldn’t have done any more as a defense.’ It’s nice for us, and it’s nice to see Joe back there confident and hit that back foot and just fire it in there, not worried about it, not worried about the protection, not worried about the receiver. Whoever he’s throwing to, just fire it in there, and he’s confident those guys are going to make it. It’s exciting to watch how far they’ve come.”

Crabtree, Brown and Snead have stressed that they will be only as successful as the entire offense is. Brown downplayed any notion that the trio will resurrect Flacco’s career.

“Joe struggled with a few injuries, but it doesn’t matter who’s in the game,” Brown said. “I feel like he can make anybody look good, and he’s looking real good, and he’s healthy......http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-new-receivers-20180820-story.html

When you factor in that the passing game was miserable and inconsistent last year, then any upgrade will turn the Winning Meter skyward.

These guys have to attack the ball and make plays.

I expect them to be better because I think they have a lot more talent and a healthy, fired-up Joe to get throws from. On paper and from camp reports, they are clicking well.

Of course, I thought they'd be better last year after signing Macklin. And then Joe hurt his back. Ugh!

It was one game.

True. As I said to some friends, are the Ravens this good, or the Bills that bad? "Somewhere in the middle." I was entertained, but we have 15 games to go. Seeing a great passing O was very refreshing.

Did you not enjoy watching the game Sly?

Oh sure did Grub, I enjoyed it greatly. But I also saw that the defense was playing against Nathan freaking Peterman, he better stick to clothes making....

And there was no running game, again, when the game mattered.

Redzone offense was great, the play selection, route combos etc.

First game, they did not show everything, but a healthy Joe amd receivers running good routes was nice to see.

Yeah, they have had a good defense for a few years now. The problem has always been no offense and a lack of discipline. Niw they have the weapons on offense, they just need a good qb, enter Mayfield.

I agree, one more game like that and the rook has to be put in, for both the Bills & Browns.
