The defense hasn't been perfect or great so the offense will get a pass. Meanwhile Joe can't see a wide open target on 4th and 2.

Where was Joe looking? Was he running for his life, AGAIN?

This offensive line might be worse than ever. They can't run block, they can't pass block; NONE OF THEM.

Stanley gets pushed back into Joe on almost every pass play. Yanda is not as strong as he was, he too gets no push. Don't get me started on Lewis and Skurah, both can barely push a baby carriage. Hurst is a back up at best, and his replacement is even worse.

No push, no consistent running lanes, Joe has little to no time in the pocket to go through his reads.

I like Boyle as a player, but he now has 3 false start penalties in 2 games. Sit him down, this offense can't afford penal9.

Nope, plenty of time. It looked like he just looked at the rb, no where else. He was bad last night. Three line is not great, the receivers are retreads, but he's a lower tier starter now who is getting worse.

Well I'll take your word for it. All I saw of the game was the first quarter, a bit of the 2nd and then the high lights this morning.

But looking at the stats, less than 4 yards per carry for all the backs, more stupid trick plays, penalties, another stupid move by Harbs going for 2. Same ole same ole....

I will give the defense credit, holding the Bengals to two field goals in the 2nd half and even keeping Green in check, yards wise. The 3 scores was just horrible coverage, or terrible tackling.

I imagine the fans are calling for the rook already.....

If you just look at the stats Joe had a good night. He didn't.

The run was pretty much abandoned after falling behind.

I think using Jackson like that is stupid too, all it does is disrupt the flow.

I do not see how going for two when it would get you within a fg is stupid. Maybe not everyone would do it, but I see the logic.

Tough game. Marvin just seems to have our number and Joe has troubles with Cincys D. Good news; at least Mosleys injury is not a season ending one.

Marvin knows Joe has never learned how to handle the cover 2. Until you learn to beat it it will keep coming. Joe becomes inpatient and thows intothe teeth of the D getting picks.

I kept saying Yanda was not the same guy he was. I think this is yr 12. He has had two major injuries the last couple seasons. I have worried about the OL since last yr.

Ozzie keeps getting used up WRs and it shows in the offense.

So onto some of the things I really liked.

Joe actually had some amazing throws. Towards the end of the third on 2 different plays the pocket had completely crumbled. The D was all around him and he was actually in the hands of some and Joe delivered strikes. The problem was about a min later Joe threw another pick and I don't care about his arm being hit. It was a foolish throw. Also another play Joe threw into triple coverage but the ball fell into Brown's hands so he had some luck there.

Collins is a straight monster. He turns some crap into gold many times. He is the feature. Dixon being out is not big deal. Collins needs more touches.

Buck Allen is solid and really good in the pass game.

The Ravens have a plethera of really good TEs. When Williams goes down with his requisite injury it should be no big deal.

Now onto the debacle issues.

The middle of the D is horrible. If they had stayed with the TE up the seem more the game would have been a disaster. Weddle is just a warm body now. Jefferson I am not sure has a pulse. The DL looked pedestrian. Suggs should have retired. The CBs did poorly.

Yes the OL has huge issues. Brown needs to learn to catch with his hands and not his body.

Back on Joe real fast. In the 2nd quarter I think there was a crossing pattern I think for Crabtree. Joe again was not accurate on that route. Instead of his normal throwing behind the reciveer he threw way to far in front. He only got a hand on it and it batted up in the air. Luckily the DB could not quite get to it and it fell incomplete. The receiver is just a few yds away from you it is not hard to throw it to your guy and not make him have to shine a turd.

Nice post Papa, sincerely.

They are who we thought they were? I guess I was encouraged that they played so well in the rain last week.

Also, did they have practices or walk throughs? What is a walk through?

Short week and the D played the whole game, right?

Let's see what happens week 3. I only saw the last quarter and was following on twitter for the rest of it. Weird stuff indeed...

It was pretty bad and downright ugly some of the time. I have to say I was shocked to see Stanley getting pushed around by a rookie. The protection for Joe was terrible and so was his throwing. The pass to Brown for a TD was lucky.

If Joe gets good protection, he'll pick a defense apart, but pressure him and he falls apart.

I give the defense a pass figuring losing their leader Mosley early on was a big shock to their psyche. They recovered for the most part in the second half.

I'm not expecting much better this season. Maybe they can bounce back against Pittsburgh next week since their pride has now been wounded.

I knew when this game started that Joe was not going to be the same Joe we saw last week vs. Buffalo. He had "the fear look" in his eyes. Last week, we came out hard on play action by Joe. Against Cincy, it was all drop back and hunt for a receiver. Anyway, Cincy looked unbeatable last night. It was very hard to watch. And yes, what the hell went wrong with our defense?

82- Luckily, we play Denver at home this week. Pittsburgh is after that away.

Ah, thanks, my mistake. Maybe we can bounce back but the O-line and Joe can't just give it away. And the D has to play hard for 4 quarters.

By the way, want to agree with Tsyl on the 2-point conversion call. We've always found that a hard play to make and going for it at that time was ludicrous.

I've always felt that when you are coming from behind and get momentum going, any negative in pts is a killer. It may be just one point, but it is another point you have to make up. Keep the positive going, kick the extra point there, go for 2 when you have no other choice.

I think I can speak for many Raven fans on this. When the Ravens want two and line up, we lose the extra point. We hardly ever win that contest.

And one other thing. Did you notice that on 3rd and short (1 or 2 yards ) that we threw the ball? Why not trust your backs to run that thing in there?

Why not QB sneak when it is less than a yd? They did it once but should have done it more.

I just don't see the missed 2pt as an issue. It's really no worse than kicking the xp. Still within one score and if you made it you're within a fg.

I have little confidence in the Ravens ever converting on them, but understand the logic for going for 2. It's not a crazy or dumb call IMO.

It's not as big of an issue as the terrible play from the QB or suspect line play.
