Ravens/Broncos Observations

Ray Lewis sighting...rain...home field...Joe... -= WIN! :gorave:

After the Broncos went up 14-7 the D settled down and pitched a shut out. All 4th quarter I was souting "finish! Finish."

And this time they did even though Judon continues to make stupid personal fouls. They should walk him over to Grants empty locker and make him stare in it for 15 minutes. He's a liability.

The blocked field goal that wasn't legal.

Happy to see that they stuck with the run that wasn't producing. 28 attempts for a sorry 2.8 ypc. Yet 2 of those went for touchdowns making the ravens a perfect 13 for 13 in the redzone. That is really damn good. And the rush TD's and pass TD's make for a great mix.

In the post game press conference you could see Joe wasn't happy with the Judon penalty and I bet the rest of the team felt the same. Great play and TD by Peanut...taken away. He was so focussed on getting to the endzone and then happy and then.... Crowd felt the same way.

Joe danced around the running game questions but it looked like he was disappointed. It's on the line.

Yet...Von Miller has never had a sack against the Ravens. Hurst, with help, had a very good game protecting Joe.

I not as worried about Tucker as I was during training camp. He's the same old clutch, excellent Kicker. Rossberg has some work to do. Way too many ST breakdowns.

Weddle called a good game too.

Kenny Young is a tackling machine. He's fast, smart and has great focus.

Brown, Snead, Crabtree and Andrews were very solid.

There's hope...IF[/b]...this team can stay healthy. "IF' they keep building and developing during the season then they will have some serious weapons on offense in the post season...."IF" they make the playoffs. They have too much football ahead, with too much remaining to prove, that they are trending toward being a playoff team, yet this week they did not look like the "same old Ravens."

Bengals lost. Ravens tied for first. :gorave:

Win is a win. Nice to see a real passing game, even if just for a half.

However, the rain certainly helped. A wet field kept the rushers who need to use speed to turn a corner, Miller, meant that Hurst & Yanda could handle him.

Seems as long as there is a wet field, the line can pass block....

No running game AGAIN, seldom use of the tight ends up the middle, we see what they can do when they do scheme to use the tight ends. Nice..

Blocked punt, so so returns, special teams was not very good.

Defense made the stops when they had to make them, and they really missed Pierce, NOT Mosely. Even so, the secondary continues to be an issue, they can't tackle in open space, I will give them credit for a coverage sack or two and for several hits on the qb that resulted in errant throws.

They beat a good team today, even with the early hole, again, the rain helped...

Impressive win. Came from behind...stayed with their gameplan...Joe was spot on...running game may have been hindered by wet conditions. Pass blocking was surprisingly very good (Von who?).

They beat a solid team who's defensive line is scary.

Good coaching job on the O-line and play calling. Special teams need a lot more work.

This team has a legitimate shot at getting into the playoffs. IF they keep playing like that.

They haven't been able to run for years now, the rain had little fo do with their lack of run.

Did Joe send a message by throwimg the ball away when play called for him to pass to the super back up? & when he had a qb keeper on 3rd & 1 for the game ending run? Then celebrated and pointed?

I thought it great that he out ran Stewart of all people.

I would like to see the alternate reality when Lindsay isn't thrown out. I am curious what that game looks like.

Always looking to hate.

Several sites are starting to put up "Look out for the Ravens" articles. :gorave:

3 games.

We know better.

Show me.

Prove it.

Yet....the ingredients for a playoff contending team are there.

They have a lot to prove to me. Sunday was a big step forward.

Now: Win on the road, Win in the division, Defeat teams with winning records, defeat playoff caliber teams and I'll be a believer.

I'm on the bandwagon already. I had a blast watching them yesterday and never doubted that they would come back and win. So I must be seeing some team strengths.

Exactly test the team and prove you are good enough against those tests.
