Ravens claim CB Cyrus Jones, waive WR Tim White

For the second time this season, the Baltimore Ravens have signed former second-round cornerback Cyrus Jones.

It’s been quite the back-and-forth for Jones over the past six weeks. On Sept. 1, the corner was waived by the New England Patriots. The next day, Sept. 2, the Ravens added him to the practice squad. Seventeen days after joining the Ravens practice squad, he is brought back to New England as an active player on the 53-man roster.

On October 6, the Patriots waived Jones to open up a spot on their 53-man roster. This was unsurprising as the Patriots are suffering in the running back department with only two healthy running backs (James White & Sony Michel). The expectation is Mike Gilleslee, former Patriot, was cut by the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 6. This move brings back a player who knows the New England offensive system and can instantly play on game day.

Update:

The Ravens announce the corresponding move to acquire Cyrus was waiving WR/RS Tim White.

He is terrible, no instincts, not very football savy, just good enough athleticism to make teams interested in him.

Why they can't find a returner who can hang onto the ball is beyond me, they are plenty.

This is a desperate move by the team who needs cornerbacks in a bad way... Another Bama retread.
