Power Ranking Too High

MV5BYjcwNjc4N2QtZmUwOS00NzM1LWIzNmMtZTJi USA Today needs to calm down some. They have the Ravens at #5.

NFL power rankings, post-Week 1 edition:

1. Patriots (1): If they're 30 points better than Pittsburgh before bringing Antonio Brown into fold, who's going to derail them going forward? (AB, right?)

2. Chiefs (2): Appears they'll get nice boost from a pair of ex-Bills — RB Shady McCoy and WR Sammy Watkins. K.C. definitely looms as most significant threat to New England.

3. Vikings (5): Suffocating defense and a relentless run game with QB Kirk Cousins almost in a complementary role — exactly the type of team that Mike Zimmer wants.

4. Saints (3): This time they avoided heartbreaking loss on national stage, but secondary has work to do if New Orleans is to celebrate 10-year Super Bowl anniversary in style.

5. Ravens (17): QB Lamar Jackson looked like an MVP. New-look defense appeared up to Baltimore's perennial standards. But was it all a Miami mirage?....https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2019/09/10/week-1-nfl-power-rankings-chiefs-patriots-ravens/2269848001/

LOL!

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is getting a bust made in Canton.

The New England Patriots can't be beat.

The Miami Dolphins can't beat Alabama.

Sammy Watkins is Jerry Rice now.

The Cleveland Browns will be lucky to get to .500.

On an on it goes with NFL Week 1 overreactions. Just remember, you are never as good or as bad as you look in Week 1...........https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-2-power-rankings-patriots-back-at-no-1-ravens-climb-into-top-10-jaguars-take-big-tumble/

RANK

BALTIMORE RAVENS (1-0)

2

Previous rank: No. 11

We knew the Ravens drew a favorable matchup in Week 1, but it wasn't supposed to be that easy. Baltimore's drive results by possession in the first half: TD, TD, TD, TD, punt (muffed by Dolphins), TD, TD. That last score came after John Harbaugh called for a fake punt -- successfully executed -- with the Ravens leading 35-3. Cold-blooded! The biggest storyline, of course, was Lamar Jackson, who become the first QB with five or more touchdown passes in a season opener since Peyton Manning (2013). He didn't throw his first incompletion of the afternoon until the 3:31 mark of the second quarter. It won't always be this easy -- it may never be this easy again for Jackson -- but it remains an incredibly impressive start to a sophomore season that just saw its expectations go through the roof. The schedule stays soft in Week 2 with a home matchup against the Cardinals.....http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001053354/article/nfl-power-rankings-week-2-packers-vikings-rise-browns-fall

It was a great win over a crummy team which is what good teams are supposed to do.

But in the NFL every week is a new experience. They have to stack victories together and not let all this rarefied bullshit lull them into a false sense that all they have to do is show up to win. The Cards are a lousy team on the rebuild but I think Suggs will have a productive game and we'll have some (or a lot of a letdown). I believe the Ravens will win and it might even be easy but it won't be as easy as the Dolphins game.

And then the Chiefs game shows up in week 3.

I don't know...I'm getting a Lamar jersey. He's totally won me over.

It's his character and work ethic.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his record-breaking performance in Sunday’s 59-10 blowout of the Miami Dolphins, the NFL announced Wednesday.

It’s the first-ever NFL honor for Jackson, who has started just eight games in his career. Jackson led the Ravens in helping to set franchise records for points in a game, points in a half, total yards and margin of victory. He also set a career high for touchdowns, completion percentage and passing yards, and became the first player in Ravens history to record a perfect passer rating.

“That’s pretty dope,” he said Wednesday of the honor. “I owe that all to my team — the whole offense, the special teams and the defense. They kept putting us out there on the field, so hats off to the whole team.”

3rd and 11.

Huge play. The Cardinals were on the verge of pulling off a 24-23 win if the Ravens don't convert.

For me it was a jaw dropping pass. I did not expect him to go deep, Brown was well covered. Only a perfect throw and catch would work and the dynamic dou pulled it off.

Win! :gorave:

Got to say that the opening day game day experience at M&T was fabulous. The atmosphere was electric. I think the "Lamar WOW" factor had everybody excited and buzzing. The stadium improvements are awesome and the tailgates parties are better than ever.

I'm a little concerned about the defense since yesterday. It would have been nice to see a few more 3-and-outs. The young qb from AZ had success against our vaunted secondary. It looks to me like they are currently having major miscommunications back there. I've saw too many wide-open receivers. The pass rush we put on looked good and the short pass coverage looked good but the Cardinals had a lot of success in the intermediate throws. They've got to clean that up or Mahomes will eat them alive.

The offense is a thing of beauty to watch. I've been waiting for this for twenty years...no more 3 yard checkdowns...no more passes that have patterns short of the first down marker on third downs. We have very good receivers and a potentially great qb on our side. I think AZ was committed to stopping our running game. I don't know why Gus Edwards didn't get a few more hand-offs. We need him as our battering ram.

There could be some major "puntos" scored Sunday in KC. Lets hope Lamar has another Miami game in him :).

oh, FWIW- I'm running/jamming the ball down KC's throats Sunday.

That is how you attack them.

There was major change in the backfield. While changing from weddle is good it takes time to ge everyone on the same page. Add in 2 of your top 4 cbs going down and that is a prob

On a seperate issue. Yest and today when I have tried to log on it says I don't have permission. On another machine I was already logged onto I could post. Both days I tried to start a thread on the prob. Neither showed up. All I seem to be able to do is reply so sry for putting this here.

I tried to post a new topic Sunday and after I typed it when I went to post it never showed up. I also got a caution about others seeing what was in it because the connection wasn't secure.
