Who would provide the most favorable playoff matchup for the Ravens

This is a no-brainer. It also will sound like blasphemy.

Given the choice of facing Chad Pennington, Matt Cassel or Brett Favre, I'll take the NFL's all-time leading touchdown passer - and the New York Jets - for so many reasons.

First of all, the Ravens' defense would feast on Favre. He's a long-ball passer in a short-ball pass offense. The Jets really haven't figured out how to best use their aging icon. And Favre has given them few clues.

In the past four games - three of them losses, by the way - Favre has thrown six interceptions and one touchdown pass. The Jets' only win in that stretch was achieved by defense and destiny - yes, destiny, Bob Costas - not on Favre's heroics

Favre is the last guy I wanna play in round 1. Put all his numbers aside for one second. Its bretts favre.. he can take over a game at any time. He can singlehandedly put a team on his back. You dont know what your getting into with him.

I want to face denver or miami. Denver just isnt that good and miami has already lost to us in miami. We destroyed the wild cat formation. We wrote the book on how to defend it.

The Jets are not playing good football right now, they would be the most favorable matchup now

But how great would this playoff run be?

Beat the Pats

Beat the Titans

Beat Indy or Pitsbugh

Go down to Tampa and kick the shit out of the Giants

The underdog the whole way!

In the famous words of Jim Mora, "playoffs" ?! We haven't even beat Jacksonville yet. Look what happened at Dallas last Saturday (and there wasnt a football pundit on this planet that picked us in that game). VMax was the only poster that picked us.

Look, if we can shock Dallas in their house, Jax is certainly capable of beating us in our house. Remember, Jax has played Indy, Tennessee and Pittsburgh tough and are capable of beating anyone. They have had a horrible year but Del Rio and company would love nothing better than to ruin our playoff run.

Lets first take care of business then talk playoffs.

Nobody wants to face the team we've already beaten up on in the first round, the Dolphins?

I want Dolphins... Titans... Chargers/Broncos.... haha.

Now, the first two are easy to accomplish. The third is much harder. Of Indy/Pitt... give me Pitt. Of Indy/Pitt/Chargers/Broncos... give me Chargers/Broncos.

I definately want to feast on Dolphin in 2 weeks..Playing in Giant Stadium, the crazy weather, the wind..How'd we fare playing the Giants a few weeks ago in the wind?..Flordia in January cures alot of injuries.

This is shaping up beautifully for us..this 6th seed might be a key to Tampa.

Why are the Jets even being talked about?

They have to win and they need help just to get into the playoffs.

The only team I would not like to play is Indy, and if you look that far a head it just might be that in the AFC Championship game.

A win in Miami then off to beat the Titans.

Indy will out-score Denver but can they beat the Stealers twice in one season in Stealer land?

Agreed Va. Actually Coach Ditka from ESPNs NFL countdown was the only one to pick the Ravens over the cowboys

And dc. i definitely would love to beat up on the dolphins in miami again, but going into New England in the first round doesnt scare me one bit. I think Harbaugh will outcoach the evil genius and boost the entire staffs confidence for a playoff run.

Sorry, so excited i got ahead of myself. First things first, 60 minutes against jacksonville

I agree, we need to take care of business Sunday. I feel that the Ravens will do just that. They have found a way to beat teams that they should beat. I don't put much weight in the Jack Del Rio factor and Garrard and Jones are not going to match up well against our D.

I picked the Ravens to win by 3 against Dallas, but I always pick the Ravens.

Ravens by 10 this week....then the playoffs

As long as we win, we will get a very favorable matchup against the Jets or Dolphins. The Dolphins do not have anything on us. We can stop their run, and Chad Pennington does not have the arm or mobility to beat us downfield. As for the Jets, we would eat Favre alive. Ed Reed would have a field day playing centerfield. The only way they would have a chance against us is if Thomas Jones could get going. Jones is having an excellent year, and the Jets offensive line is very good. He would certainly be a challenge for us, but nothing we could not handle. The Jets have an average defense with a good run defense and a horrible pass defense.

With all this said, the Dolphins would provide the most favorable matchup (the homefield advantage in Miami is nice as well!). However, the Jets would not give us much more trouble. They are extremely inconsistent, play down to the level of their competition, and have lost to some very bad teams (Oakland, San Fran, Seattle). Under Harbaugh, we have not played down to the level of our competition. We have dominated bad teams, the Jets do not.

At this point, we just need a playoff win. This franchise has not won a playoff game since 2002, we need to get those wheels moving again.

i really dont want to play brett favre. Granted he is an old man with horrible numbers no one can argue the fact that when he is 'on', hes unstoppable. He threw 5 tds earlier this year in one game and if they get in he'll be playing to prove all his doubters wrong. That could be a trap game.

bring on miami.

I was just thinking if the pats lose do we rest anyone? I think we should. at least sit em in the second half. Poor guys havent had a week to rest since what week 3?

oh and I just listened to the Little wayne blog on ESPN. He picks the ravens to win it all this year.
