Browns Game

Another normal season in Brownsville. After one game they are starting another QB.

But....they play the Ravens tough.

Here's 2 players who looked like Hall of Famers against the Ravens....

McCown also is 2-1 against the Ravens with an overall passer rating of 96.7. In an overtime Cleveland Browns win in Baltimore last season, he threw for 457 yards. The Browns at least know what McCown is capable of accomplishing....According to ESPN's Matthew Berry, in the eight games that Barnidge played with McCown at starting last season, he averaged 12.3 fantasy points per game. The top tight end in the league, Rob Gronkowski, averaged only 11.7 points per game over the course of the season. Other numbers bear out the trend as well. Barnidge was targeted on nearly a quarter of his routes and gained 14.5 yards per catch with McCown playing.......As far as Barnidge's prospects, his matchup this weekend looks promising. He did well against the Baltimore Ravens last year, catching 15-of-21 targets for 230 yards and a touchdown in two games, both of which were started by McCown (McCown left the second game in the fourth quarter with a broken collarbone). Whether he can produce another season like 2015 remains to be seen, but perhaps he'll get back on track this Sunday....http://www.espn.com/blog/cleveland-browns/post/_/id/20013/justin-forsett-mike-wallace-among-ravens-weapons-as-baltimore-visits-cleveland

Ravens need this game. It's one of those "should win" games, so they need to take care of business.

The Ravens have won seven of the last eight meetings in Cleveland. Their only loss during that span came Nov. 3, 2013, when now-retired quarterback Jason Campbell threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite the Ravens' 25-9 all-time series lead against the Browns, contests between the two teams have been close, with an average of 5.8 points deciding the past six Cleveland-Baltimore games...The Ravens had the league's best defense in Week One, surrendering 160 yards to the Bills. The Browns, on the other hand, gave up 403 yards to the Eagles, including 278 passing yards and two touchdowns to rookie quarterback Carson Wentz....The Ravens' defense didn't force any turnovers in Week One, but during their 16 games against the Browns under Harbaugh, the Ravens have recorded a plus-11 turnover margin, but Baltimore has only posted two takeaways during the past four games against Cleveland...https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/09/14/nfl-week-two-ravens-vs-browns-by-the-numbers

McCown holds a 2-1 all-time record against Baltimore. As quarterback for the Chicago Bears, McCown led the Bears to a 23-20 victory Nov. 17, 2013. On Oct. 11, 2015, McCown led the Browns to a 33-30 overtime win at M&T Bank Stadium -- Cleveland's first win in Baltimore since 2007.

In three games against the Ravens, McCown has recorded 885 passing yards, five total touchdowns and no interceptions. But the Ravens gave up a league-low 95 passing yards last week, and will look to make Cleveland a no-fly zone for McCown....https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/09/14/nfl-week-two-ravens-vs-browns-by-the-numbers

Can the Ravens stop the pattern of playing down to the level of their competition?

Can they stop the pattern of slow starts?

This isn't last year's defense, McClown won't throw for half of last year's yards against us.

31-10 Ravens

Joe P agrees with you....

Baltimore 33, Cleveland 10: As quarterback Joe Flacco gets more field time with his offense in general and receivers in particular, the rhythm will come back, and we'll see the kind of offense we were promised during the spring and summer. That could translate into another long afternoon for a Browns team that had some nice pieces last year but look too young to give anyone a game anymore. Don't let last week's score fool you; Philadelphia is not that good, but they beat these Browns by 19 points. What is the revived Ravens' D going to do to Cleveland?..https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/09/14/joey-ps-week-two-nfl-picks-got-to-win-the-close-ones

It'll be an interesting game. This team will always be Jekyll/Hyde with offense. The closest thing to a walk in the park Ravens fans know would be having a 10 point lead and holding it for the 4th quarter. The defense still scares me. How long can they keep up the intensity/passion? When will the injuries start piling up?

I don't know how to feel about this game. The Ravens offensive line is troubling, both in pass protection and in the running game.

The defense, the back end, who knows how they will play.

The Browns are bad, but we know how they usually play the Ravens tough. Will the pass rush get to McCown? Will they force turnovers?

Will the secondary step up and not give up big plays ro a suspect receiving core? Will they be a penalty machine?

Will the passing game get on track and stay consistant?

So many questions to answer...

I watched the Buffalo game last night. Now I'm confused again. Was our defense that good that it limited the Bills to 7 points? Was our offense that bad that they only scored 13 points?

Jets beat the Bills 37-31. A completely different game from ours with the Bills last week.

Throw the stats out for Thursday night games after a Sunday game. There is no telling how a team will play.

I will say the Jets have a better:

offensive line

Wide recievers core

&

Offensive coordinator.

Put all those factors together against a tired defense because of a short week and you give up 30+ points.

Last nights game was a division so anything goes in them things.

Our game with the Bills was the first game of the season, most of the times it will take most teams 3 or 4 game to get to what they really are. And the Ravens made a lot of dumb mistakes in the game. Called time out so the play clock wouldn't run out on them only to come back and get a false start. I really think the Ravens would have scored more points if they didn't have the dumb mistakes.

The Browns’ 18-point lead at the end of the first quarter was their largest lead after one quarter since 1961, per ESPN Stats & Information. But Cleveland was shut down for much of the rest of the game.

Lawrence Guy's block and Tavon Young's scoop for 2 started the turn around.

Gritty performance by a battered McCown.

It was ugly but the Ravens never lost their poise. They kept grinding.

Pitta is totally back....

TE Dennis Pitta

Back in the same stadium where he dislocated and fractured his hip two years ago, Pitta caught a team-high nine passes for 102 yards. As the Ravens rallied, Flacco leaned heavily on his good friend and preferred target, especially in clutch situations...http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Game-Recap-Ravens-25-Browns-20/0b8d933b-2123-4c2b-b9d9-76c83a1963e0
