Lamar's fantasy Records

Recommended Posts

Amazing.

Quote

3. Quarterbacks combined to rush for 7,698 yards this season. That's the second most in the history of the NFL behind only the 2018 campaign, when the position compiled 8,086 yards.

4. Lamar Jackson set the NFL record for quarterbacks with 1,206 yards on the ground. That accounted for 15.6 percent of the 7,698 yards quarterbacks rushed for in 2019.

5. Based on NFL.com's ADP (average draft position), Jackson was one of the best values in fantasy football history. Drafted in the 12th round on average, he scored 415.68 fantasy points this season. That's the second-most by a quarterback in a single season in NFL history.

6. Jackson needed only 1.41 more fantasy points to pass Patrick Mahomes for the most by a quarterback in a single season in NFL history. The Ravens decided to sit him in Week 17, however.

7. Jackson had seven games with 30-plus fantasy points this season, the most by any signal caller in the Super Bowl era.

8. If Jackson played in only the first three quarters of games, he would have scored 333.78 fantasy points. That is more than every other quarterback except Dak Prescott (337.78), who would have outscored Jackson by just four fantasy points.

9. Jackson outscored Prescott by 77.9 fantasy points. That is the second-biggest gap between the top-two scoring quarterbacks since 2000. The biggest gap came in 2007, when Tom Brady finished 94.7 points ahead of Tony Romo. Believe it or not, but Romo was the lone quarterback to finish within 100 fantasy points of Brady that season.

10. Jackson scored 226.42 fantasy points in the first halves of games this season. That is only 2.76 fewer points than Baker Mayfield put up all season (229.18).

11. Jackson broke his own record for most rushing attempts in a single season by a quarterback with 176. He had 147 rushing attempts in 2018.

12. Jackson averaged 4.9 yards per carry before contact this season. Christian McCaffrey averaged 4.8 yards per carry overall.

13. Jackson had 483 rushing yards on first downs alone this season. Only Kyler Murray (544) and Josh Allen (510) had more total rushing yards in 2019.

14. If you took away all of Jackson's fantasy points from rushing (yards and touchdowns), he would still be the QB12. He would have scored more fantasy points than Jimmy Garoppolo, Kirk Cousins and Philip Rivers.

15. The Ravens (with Jackson) became the first team since the 1970 merger to lead the NFL in passing touchdowns (37) while having the fewest pass attempts in the league (27.5 per game).

16. Jackson led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes despite finishing just 26th in pass attempts (401).

17. Only two field generals in NFL history have ever thrown for 35-plus touchdowns on fewer than 401 pass attempts: Hall of Famers Y.A. Tittle (36 TDs on 367 pass attempts) and George Blanda (36 TDs on 362 pass attempts).

18. Jackson threw for 250-plus passing yards just three times this season. That is the fewest by the top scoring fantasy quarterback in any season since at least 2000 (as far back as we can track).

19. Jackson threw a touchdown pass on nine percent of his attempts. The last quarterback to throw 30-plus touchdowns more often was NFL MVP Peyton Manning in 2004 (49 TDs on 497 pass attempts, 9.9 percent).

20. If you took away all of Lamar Jackson's fantasy points from passing yards and touchdowns, he would have ranked as the RB28 this season. That's without any receiving stats!

21. Jackson joins a group of just five other quarterbacks in NFL history who have finished with 390-plus fantasy points in a single season. That list includes Mahomes (2018), Peyton Manning (2013), Brady (2007), Aaron Rodgers (2011) and Drew Brees (2011).....http://www.nfl.com/fantasyfootball/story/0ap3000001098322/article/200-interesting-fantasy-facts-from-2019-nfl-season?itm_source=parsely-api?icampaign=trendingNews

Lamar and the Ravens O is changing the game. I saw it morph as the season went on. More QB's took off and ran.

24. For the first time in NFL history, each of the top-10 fantasy field generals had 150-plus rushing yards this season. With Jackson leading the way, each quarterback averaged 418.6 rush yards (NFL record).

Just glorifying stats non-stop at the exclusion to winning on the field is taking your eye off the ball.  If the convo is about ff then it is reasonable thing to talk about.

14-2 is winning on the field. At the age of 22.

Disagree. The season is a compilation of 16 games whereas the playoffs come down every time to a one game season. The stats and results over the long haul are what count. Any team can have a bad day. Every player can play lights out in a playoff game and be mediocre in the season. I'm thinking particularly of Flacco 2012 whom you love to excoriate.  And there are plenty of others who can shine for a game or 3 and then either barely get or can't get their teams into the playoffs.

I also think of Dan Marino who had a fantastic career but who had loads of trouble making it to the playoffs and never won a Super Bowl. He's in the Hall of Fame and was elected in his first year of eligibility.

Dan was never given a running game.  He made the POs all the time.  he just didnt get it done there.  But it was Dan and a bunch of guys.

Hmmm...just as a point of info, Dan was a pedestrian 8-10 in the playoffs over his 16 year career and never won a Super Bowl. Lamar, in his two seasons thus far has made the playoffs both times and lost there twice. Lets defer any discussion about evaluating Lamar's total performance until he has a few more seasons of records to observe. Not saying he's a Hall of Famer, just saying that you don't have to have won a Super Bowl to have been considered a great quarterback.

Regardless, he had a really great season this year.

I know Dan had a bad record in the POs.  Like I said before Dan ead basically by himself.  Take Peyton who had multiple pro bowl and Hof players and had about the same production.

Now for Lamar he has talent around him.  We shall see what he can do in the POs in time.  But again I was saying we need to watch his production in the POs and not ff numbers.  That I taking the eyes off the prize that really matters.

Hasn't won a playoff game....those awards are Shit...he goes 0-3 in the playoffs. Then what? Regular season heroes suck. It gets nothing. And if he goes 0-3 and wants a contract...See ya

Rational as always.....
