Love Gus. He's all about action and performance with no "talk."

Dobbins and Edwards are now both under contract for the next three years, giving Baltimore's run-heavy scheme a strong backfield duo for years to come...."He is a Raven," DeCosta said. JUST IN! HOT! HOT!!....:cop:..Also there is this rumor...the Ravens will sign Ja'Wuan James, OT. More OT help/depth. He won't suit up this year, but would be ready for the future 2022 season. This is an intriguing insurance option for 2022. He will get $500,000 this year for rehabbing and $* mil in 2022. In 2022, Villanueva becomes the Ravens "insurance option" in 2022 as he is scheduled to make $4 mill.

Former Broncos’ OT Ja'Wuan James, who ruptured his Achilles in April, is signing a two-year deal worth up to $9 million with the Ravens, sources tell ESPN. James still has to pass his physical with the Ravens, but it will not include his current injury and no issues expected....The last time Ja'Wuan James played more than 3 games in a season was 2018 with the Dolphins BUT that season he finished 5th among tackles in pass block win rate. He was 38th in run block in rate. (ESPN / Next Gen Stats)

In his grievance, James is seeking his $10 million salary for the 2021 season and $5 million salary for the 2022 season, arguing that he was working out away from the facility under guidance from the Broncos, a source confirmed to ESPN. The NFL Players Association is not involved with James' grievance, which was filed on his own with attorney Mark Geragos, a source confirmed to ESPN.

James is set to sign a two-year deal worth up to $9 million with the Ravens, the sources told Schefter. He still has to pass a physical, but the exam will not include his current injury and no issues are expected, the sources said. The contract includes $500,000 in guaranteed money this year while he rehabs from his Achilles injury, with his sights set on a return for 2022. The Ravens will have him under contract at north of $8 million next season....Ja'Wuan James files $15 million grievance against Denver Broncos, reaches two-year deal with Baltimore Ravens, sources say (espn.com)

Next season, the Ravens can go with James on the right side if he is fully healthy and if Villanueva struggles to make the transition to right tackle. But given that James has played only three games since 2019, Baltimore has the option to keep Villanueva, who is scheduled to make $4 million in 2022, as insurance....Ja'Wuan James files $15 million grievance against Denver Broncos, reaches two-year deal with Baltimore Ravens, sources say (espn.com)

:cop:  RED FLAG ON JAMES....

Quote

James, who spent the first five seasons of his career with the Dolphins, has only played three games over the last two years. He's battled injury issues since entering the NFL, missing nine games in 2015, eight in 2017 and 13 in 2019. He also opted out of the entire 2020 campaign due to COVID-19 and will miss the entire 2021 season while recovering from his injury.....Ravens sign Ja'Wuan James to $9 million deal despite former Broncos tackle's torn Achilles, per report - CBSSports.com

Nicknamed "Gus the Bus," Edwards is a valuable powerful downhill runner who complements Dobbins and rarely gets stopped in the backfield. In three seasons, Edwards has gained yards on 89.1% of his 414 carries, the most of any player in the NFL over that time....

Good move all around. James has a year ofd to get healthy, and has incentive to play to his potential. If he doesn't pan out, nothing "really lost"....

Gus deserved the money, hard worker, punishing runner...
