  1. NFL.com reports Baltimore Ravens S Ed Reed is committed to playing football in 2010 following hip surgery, his friend and financial advisor, Brad Davis, said Thursday. Renowned hip specialist Dr. Marc Philippon of Vail, Colo., handled the surgery to repair Reed's torn labrum last week, according to Davis, and the safety already has started his rehabilitation. Very good news!
  2. The Carroll County Times reports Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed (hip surgery), DT Haloti Ngata (pectoral surgery), CB Lardarius Webb (knee surgery), CB Fabian Washington (knee surgery), and S Haruki Nakamura (fibula surgery) will not practice today. Reed just had his hip surgery in Colorado last week, so he won't be attending the minicamp at all. The Ravens will have CB Domonique Foxworth and CB Chris Carr as the starting cornerbacks, with S Tom Zbikowski substituting for Reed. Two other players on the mend from offseason shoulder surgeries are NT Kelly Gregg and OLB Jarret Johnson. Gregg isn't expected to participate as he won't be 100 percent until later this month or early June. Not too bad for early offseason.
  3. PSX reports when George Kokinis returns to football, it'll likely be in the Baltimore Ravens' personnel department. But the Ravens haven't made any plans to announce that Kokinis is re-joining the team. There was speculation last month that Kokinis, the former general manager for the Cleveland Browns, would come back to the Ravens after the draft. Kokinis, director of pro personnel for the Ravens from 2003 to 2008, was spotted with Ravens officials at the NFL combine in Februrary. Some wonder whether Kokinis, who received an undisclosed settlement from the Browns, is in a rush to come back to the NFL. I think we could welcome him back!
  4. Hmmm ... if we do ... I hope we get good compensation!
  5. NFL.com reports the Baltimore Ravens are moving second-year OT Michael Oher to left tackle and OT Jared Gaither to right tackle, according to a team source. Oher is now working at left tackle at Ravens minicamp, which is just underway. The Ravens envision this as a permanent move for the 2010 season, according to a source. Gaither, a restricted free agent who has yet to sign his free-agent tender, is working on the right side during camp.
  6. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports NFL sources expect Baltimore Ravens OT Jared Gaither to be traded before the season. The Buffalo Bills are most likely destination, they want him.
  7. -- Ravens Re-Sign Edgar Jones -- Mon Mar 15, 2010 --from FFMastermind.com The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens have re-signed TE Edgar Jones to a one-year veteran minimum deal, $545,000. Not a big deal ... but at least it gives us two TE's now!
  8. Provide depth at cornerback. Marlin Jackson, a free agent from the Indianapolis Colts, is scheduled to visit the Ravens on Tuesday, according to a league source. A first-round selection in 2005, he started in 2007 and 2008. Jackson sustained torn knee ligaments in practice the past two seasons to finish on injured reserve.
  9. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free-agent CB Marlin Jackson is scheduled to visit the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday.
  10. Ravens Moving Closer to Re-Signing Bart Scott -- Tue Feb 24, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com The Baltimore Sun reports LB Bart Scott and the Ravens are moving closer to possibly getting a deal done before the midnight deadline Friday for free agency.
  11. -- Samari Rolle Could Stay a Raven -- Tue Feb 24, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com The Carroll County Times reports the representative for Ravens CB Samari Rolle said he hasn't heard from team officials regarding speculation that Rolle might be asked to take a pay cut from his $4.1 million 2009 salary or that he might be released. “I don't deal in hypotheticals,” agent Peter Schaffer said. “I like to deal with reality.”
  12. Yeah ... but Preston's speculation is almost always on the mark ... right?
  13. -- Samari Rolle Wants Out of Baltimore -- The Baltimore Sun reports CB Samari Rolle is still under contract with the Ravens, but his agent is expected to meet with GM Ozzie Newsome later this week at the NFL combine in Indianapolis. The Ravens will probably ask Rolle to take a pay cut, and he will probably ask them for his release. I have mixed feelings on this one. We need a good corner ... but is he good enough?
  14. Wow ... what a tool. Albeit a well spoken tool ... but still a tool. How much online "balls" does it take to come and rub it in after the game? Both the AFC championship game and the superbowl. Damn closet Steeler fans. Hell, Crav goes and smack talks well before the game on the other teams sites! I just swat at you like the rest of the insignificant, closet hiding, yellow and black mosquitos that seem to infest southern PA only when the Steelers do well.
