  1. This was why I was arguing to transition Ray to outside LBer during camp. I'm sure Ray could set the edge and cover a smaller portion of field. No one was listening. Not sure why cuz Seau set the precedent and was very successful. Miss you Junior.
  2. Ray really wasn't playing all that great before the injury. His best contribution, ironically seemed to be in coverage. That's crazy, because that's where he struggled a year ago. To me he seemed to be in the right place at the right time alot in coverage, but he was not playing the run well at all. What I ask you is Ray going to be able to do with half an arm? I just don't get where a 37 year old man with half an arm is going to contribute on a football field. Ray Lewis or not. Believe me that hurts to say, I love the guys passion for the game. Unlike TO and Ocho the NFL will miss Ray. The NFL will always keep chugging, but it will miss a guy like Ray.
  3. You know there aren't many teams that do this kind of thing and don't win the big one. Just saying
  4. I thought the last game should have been a blowout. Joe missed alot of passes. I don't think he misses those passes at home.
  5. Damn shame. I understand bitterness when you lose a football team, but Art did everything he could not take the team away and for people not to see that......that's ridiculous. Especially since.......Cleveland just ended up giving their new franchise owners everything Art wanted. Sounds to me like Cleveland fans were let down by their leaders, not Art.
  6. I'm not sure this is totally Joe's monkey. Sometimes I feel like he's doing what he can while being provided poor tools to succeed. I'm not much of an excuse maker but we've seen the receiver routes and we know that we have the WR's and QB to make it work consistently. It's not working consistently, so in my opinion that falls on offensive coaches as a whole. We have the same glarring weakness on 3rd and short when we want to run the ball. I believe this to a be a function of the coaches as well. If zone blocking doesn't work for short yardage let's get away from it on the short yardage plays only.
  7. The problem was they did attempt to spread the offense out early in the season on the road and the results were disastrous. Remember our 9-6 KC fiasco? We had our problems against Cleveland etc too. What I really like about this team is we're not even close to our ceiling yet. This offense can do some real damage in the post season if they can find a comfort zone and get some things going. As far as our pass rush, Suggs was getting to the QB alot last week. I think he's getting faster and faster. This will be a good test this week to see how far he's come. He was stonewalled in Pitt. I know he played the run well enough, but he trouble getting to Leftwich. I also like the way Kruger and Upshaw have been playing as of late. We can continue to get better. On defense it's going to be keyed by our improved pass rush. On offense we need to find Joe's comfort zone more often on the road. Cam is going to have to be more flexible and inventive. If it's working, stay with it. Screw the gameplan. If the defense adjusts, you can always go back to your gameplan.
  8. As it turns out, Jax made the wrong decision. How have they done since Ole Tommy left? And how has ole Tommy done? As I recall the Giants also revolted, lead by Barber. As soon as they got rid of the ring leader the Giants went on to win 2 Super Bowls.
  9. I see the Texans as our only major hurdle and I don't think you'll get that same 2nd effort out of us.
  10. Brady has real problems against heavily pass rushing defenses. I suppose all QBs do, but Brady seems to go from All world status to average. I don't see Brady beating either team. Also, both of those teams offenses can put up points on the Pats, can Brady keep up? I just don't think so. I don't think the Pats match up well. Sure they stomp the teams they're supposed to stomp, but they struggle against the real defenses. The Giants are an example, they give him fits.
  11. Cleetz and Crav I believe you nailed it. Every team has issues like this. The difference between the Pats and Ravens.....it stays in the locker room in NE. In any case, Reed has always been a vocal critic of all leadership. Reed is like an artist while Ray is more like an executive. They both achieve great things and have wonderful talents, but they value things differently. I think Harbaugh definitely used the situation to galvanize the team.
  12. Yeah, cuz making the playoffs 5 years in a row is the result of a leadership facade. Some people will go to any lengths.
  13. Yeah, he cost too much and the Eagles are moving for next year.
  14. This is a testament to Harbaugh's ability to lead. This is why we're consistently making the playoffs now vs under Billick.
  15. For one season on a stretch run, yes. Especially since we are likely to play any of the following QBs, Brady, Shaub, Manning, the rapist, Manning, or Rodgers. All very dangerous QBs in which we'll be in the nickel alot.
