Then take away the lobs Peyton, Brady, Schaub, Rivers and Warner throw up to their incredible receivers in triple coverage then. You cannot say that. Great players make great plays. That pass Flacco threw up to Mason that was intercepted is a pass Brady, Schaub, Warner, and Rivers throw up all the time to Moss, A. Johnson, Fitz, and Jackson. The difference is these guys are better at tracking the ball, adjusting, and going up for the catch than any of our guys.

1. I cannot blame Reed on the fumble, it was a great play by Garcon. I wouldn't say his free lancing is killing us, but his carelessness on returns is. Look at it this way though, any other safety would not even have the ball in the first place. No way would our team be better off without him. Nevertheless Reed has had his share of injury problems and is getting older, it might be time to look for a replacement. 2. This all depends on a CBA agreement. If there is no CBA, we cannot sign a free agent until we lose one. Not to mention Jackson, Miles, Floyd, Edwards, and Marshall will all be RFAs instead of URFAs. Add Anquan Boldin and Dwayne Bowe to the list of receivers who will likely be available through trade, Unlike last year, this is a weak receiver draft class outside of the top guy, Dez Bryant. If there is an uncapped year, the only way to get a top receiver will be to trade a first or second round pick. I do not see Ozzie doing that, so cheaper free agents and draft picks will probably be the way we go. Nonetheless, that is probably better than what we have already. If we draft enough receivers, someone is sure to pan out. 3. I am concerned about Gaither's durability. He is only 22 and he is ALWAYS hurt. His injuries definitely effect his play as well, he does not play through injuries well. When he is healthy, he is among the best in the league, but he is never healthy. With the money he is going to ask for as a LT, I say we keep him for however long we have him under contract but look for a tackle we can develop. I am not sure I want to give a long-term deal to someone as fragile as Gaither. So when Gaither leaves, shift Oher over to LT and have a RT ready to go. EDIT: After thinking it over, I would even switch Oher to LT next season. If Gaither doesn't like RT, then tough.

I do agree, but even still we were not able to run the ball...

Thanks, I am pulling for you guys tomorrow. You guys are definitely better suited to beat the Colts then the Jets are. I just want to see the Colts lose by any means.

Solid points dc, I am just going to add. There were plays where we had four receivers, I saw multiple sets with Mason, Clayton, Washington, and Heap, or Mason, Clayton, Washington, and Williams. The sad part is our receivers cannot get off of the jam, and drop balls left and right. One more thing that gets me FURIOUS is when Joe has all day to throw or buys time for himself, OUR RECEIVERS CANNOT GET OPEN! It seems like every other team in the league has receivers that understand the concept of coming back to the QB. When Ben buys time, Holmes, Ward, and even the rookie Wallace gets open. If you give Peyton five seconds to throw, his guys are getting open, even late round draft picks like Collie and Garcon. What is going on with our guys???

Considering the receivers we have and the fact that Flacco statistically improved significantly in every category, how was he a disappointment? Did you really expect him to throw for 30 TDs and 4K yards with our receivers? He is not great yet, but if we give him the weapons the other QBs have, we will certainly be on his way.

Sure, Joe deserves his share of the blame but to say he isn't an NFL-calibur QB is completely over-reacting. It is kind of hard when you have three inches of swelling in your hip and you cannot sit down. Joe can only do so much with these receivers. Heck, he had SIX drops today. Look at Joe's numbers, the improvement he made from year one to year two was great. Get him some receivers and those numbers are going to jump even more.

Well, Ozzie knows what needs to be done in the offseason... RECEIVER!! Mason, Clayton, Williams, Washington, these guys are all not going to cut it. This team was the #3 defense in the league and the #13 offense in the league, next season definitely looks bright.

True, I guess it would not make much sense to have the Coach of the Year and the league MVP on the same team. I mean how hard is it to coach a league MVP? Nevertheless, I am not sure how Sean Payton was not the coach of the year then.

I would love Reggie Wayne on this team...
-
Did anyone hear that stat, the Colts are starting a fourth round pick and an UDFA at CB...
-
Same deal as Ed Reed, cannot really fault these guys. However, sometimes it is better to take the good play instead of going for the great play.
-
You have got to be kidding me with these play calls. Are our receivers really that bad????
-
That is difference between us and Pittsburgh, when Ben rolls out and buys time his receivers get open, when Joe does that our receivers are still stuck at the LoS.
-
We might as well line up in goaline and run the ball if we are going to throw three yard passes.
-
Good call, too bad none of our guys could cover it.
-
Back to playing two-hand touch.
-
WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN!?!? EVERYONE ELSE CAN MOVE THE BALL AGAINST INDY BUT US!!!!
-
Crap, the Colts-syndrome is in full effect, once again we are making them look like the '85 Bears.
-
Nice defense baby!!!

I think Reed and Zibby are the back-up punt returners. They are really the only guys on the roster that I can think of with recent experience (Clayton did it in college and Mason did it in TN).
-
Why are we passing on 3rd & 2? Last week we pounded it in those situations.
-
Maybe he does not have experience fielding punts. I am sure it is not as easy as it looks.
-
Who else would you have returning punts?
-
Good first quarter!!!!
