My little brother and I will be in Section 535. I got good parking in Lot O, which is supposed to be pretty good for tailgating.

Cmac was released today by the Saints. Should we pick him up?

I am going to the Lions game this week, so I am fully expecting to enjoy a Ravens win. My philosophy is to take this one week at a time. If this team can finish 9-7/10-6, that has to be something good to build upon considering how bad our talent is in the secondary and at receiver, not to mention how poorly disciplined we are. Don't worry about the playoffs and what other teams do, we just need to win as many games as we can, not just for this year, but for next year.

I think the coaches have had enough with Gooden, Ellerbe was in there most of the night and looked really good against the run. He is still a little raw in the passing game, but he has the tools improve. The main thing is that he is not afraid to hit someone, which is the case with Gooden. McClain is probably a solid role player, fill-in starter. He has a place on this team, but I don't think he is a starter. I like what I saw from Antwan Barnes the other night, he needs to get more PT. Ozzie certainly has his work cut out for him. He needs to start searching for a new playmaking safety, a Ray Lewis heir, a #1 corner, and some way to generate a pass rush. Remember this though, as bad as the defense looked last night, the had some key stops against the Packers in the first and third quarters. Our offense just killed us with turnovers and the inability to convert opportunities. Maybe if the offense gives the defense some points to work with, the defense is able to play with some confidence. I fully believe Ozzie will be able to shore this thing up, but in the NFL now-a-days the success of a defense is so much dependent upon what your offense can do.

What got me furious was that PI call against Landry. He ran down the field with his right arm holding Driver's arm, and Landry's left arm was up in the arm to show "hey, I am not touching him." It was absolutely pathetic, Landry could have pulled his arm out when he saw the ball was going to sail over his head, but he continued to hold Driver well after the play. It is like Landry knew he was going to get a penalty, and his reaction to covering it up was late. This goes to your point VA, is it the coaches that are teaching the guys to play like this, or is it the skill level? I want to think it is the coaching and this is something that is correctable, then I see Webb out there playing with proper technique and the coaches are saying how Webb has come a long way with his technique since arriving and I am starting to think that either the rest of the bunch are just dumb and cannot apply what they are learning, or they do not have the skill to keep up in this league.

The only old guys out there last night were Ray, Pryce, and Gregg. It was the young guys in the secondary (with the exception of Webb) that killed us.
-
You are probably right. That would not neccessarily be a bad thing to have Foxworth as our #2 corner if we had a legit #1 corner. Webb is excellent in the slot, and doing so would allow him to stay on kick return duties. The fact remains that we need a #1 corner, preferably someone at least 6" or more. Carr, Zibby, Landry, and Walker are all pretty pathetic in coverage.

You can't blame that play on the goaline, Woodson just made an amazing tackle. If anything, Willis needs to run through that ankle tackle. He shouldn't be striding on the goaline, he should have took the pitch an drove it to the endzone. Woodson made that tackle on his back. BTW, PLEASE PLAY DEMETRIUS WILLIAMS!!!! We saw what opportunities speed can open up on offense. Clayton and Mason can't get any separation downfield. And I am sick and tired of these DROPS! Clayton, Mason, Heap. Someone tell Clayton and Mason not to catch everything with their body. I've had enough with all of these guys. For all the crap Mason talks, he can't make a play against the top corners and he drops the ball way too much for a guy who is not a YAC or TD threat. Give the PT to Kelly Washington as well.

Does anyone else think that Webb has #1 corner potential? He continued to impress last night as he played extensively on the outside for the first time in his career. Yeah, he got that pass interference penalty, but it was only a 7-yard penalty on a slant with Webb trying to make an aggressive play. Webb may give up a completion, but what impresses me is that he is always on the receiver's back pocket making the tackle as soon as the receiver catches the ball. None of that 20-yard cushion crap we see with Carr and Foxworth. I used to think Webb was probably a #2 at best, but I believe he can be a very good player in this league. With that said, we need to get a bigger corner to pair up with Webb. Our technique in the secondary is absolutely pathetic. We have a culture of believing it is okay to wrestle with receivers 20-yards down field. We are not covering guys, we are shoving them. That is not how you play DB in this league. When you have a rookie from a DII school that is the only player that understands how to actually cover, that is sad. I don't think Foxworth is a lost cause, he would probably be a solid #3 corner, allowing Webb to move inside to play the slot on third downs (like how Foxworth was used in Atlanta, he wasn't depended on as a top corner). But as long as we do not have a #1 corner, Foxworth will be exposed. Carr, Walker, Landry, Zib, they can all leave for all I care.

Ugh... I am usually the optimist around here, but there is nothing even I can say after that performance. The defense played hard and stopped the run. Once again, Webb showed up and played very well. Ellerbe was a monster in the run game. Foxworth, Carr and Walker were easy targets for Rodgers. Oh well, what can you do. Move on to Detroit. If we finish 9-7, we finish 9-7. Whatever.

I think you pretty much sum up the Ravens season. With that said, I would love to see more playing time from Demetrius, Kelly Washington, and possibly Justin Harper. We need speed and size on the field. What we have now with Clayton and Mason is not working.
-
Flacco regressed in those past two throws alone. He has not made any boneheaded decisions like that in a long time. What is he thinking tonight!? The flea flicker throw was horrible. The throw to Williams was inexcusable.
-
It's just one of those games...
-
This always happens to us!!! WHY!?!?!?! It was second down Joe! If you are going to throw that ball put it in the back of the endzone!!!
-
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! COMMON JOE!!!!!!
-
That was just a good play. Please don't let that be the shoe string grab be the reason we don't score a TD.
-
Please get Demetrius more PT. He can get open deep.
-
Clayton is hurt, get D-Will or Washington on the field.
-
Why don't we run the "Sluggo"?
-
I have to ask, why isn't Demetrius playing more? He blew right by the DB. We need that type of speed and size on the field.
-
KELLY 'EFFING WASHINGTON!!!!
-
This is why we don't score touchdowns, we don't have playmakers that can make above average plays. Both those passes to Clayton and Heap should have been caught. You want to know why we never pass over the middle, it is because Clayton and Mason have to jump for every single catch, they both have a very small catching radius. GET WASHINGTON MORE PT!!!!

Hahah, can't blame this one on the kicker!
