  1. Okay, I take back my Carson Palmer remarks. Amazing game!
  2. This is a good game... that Antwan Odom guy is pretty good.
  3. Wow, Rey Malaluega is tough. That was a gruesome looking injury, I do not know how he is playing.
  4. Way to waste that fake punt.
  5. I thought the Bengals were supposed to have a good offense. I do not know what it is, but Carson is looking like an average QB to me.
  6. Limas Sweed is a poor man's Justin Harper.
  7. Considering Ray was joking around on the sideline at the end of the game laughing and running away from the trainer, I would say he is fine.
  8. So do we want Art in the Hall then?
  9. The Browns are a mess. Lets put them out of the misery on Sunday.
  10. I agree with that, if the Browns pass on us, I will be very worried.
  11. I do not believe this. I believe this problem is very correctable. First, we have three new corners in the secondary with Webb, Carr, and Foxworth, and Landry is coming off of an injury. As we saw yesterday, communication was a big issue (the Sproles TD). The rest of the time you had a 6'5", 240-pound receiver with 4.4 speed just out-muscling and out-jumping out corners. There you are right, nothing we can do. Big receivers will give us trouble. But the positive side of it, the Chargers are the best we are going to see when it comes to big receivers (Gates, Jackson, Floyd, they have a lot of big, fast guys). When it comes to match-ups, the Chargers are probably one of the toughest match-ups we will have all year. Guys, remember THIS WAS A GREAT TEAM we just beat. The Chargers are arguably the most talented team in the league. Philip Rivers is a Pro-Bowl QB who passed for 4,000 yards last season and 32 TDs with a 105.5 QB rating! This is not a scrub who passed all over us, this is one of the best QBs in the league with very dangerous weapons on the outside and in the backfield.
  12. So, how about that offensive line today?
  13. I agree with max. It is not like this is not anything we cannot fix. Remember, we have a new DC and three new CBs in Webb, Carr, and Foxworth, and one guy coming off of a season-ending injury in Landry. Communication was definitely lacking yesterday, that should be correctable. There is just nothing you can do when you have a 6'5" 240-pound receiver with 4.4 speed blazing down the sideline jumping tall buildings in a single bound. Oh yeah, BIG PROPS to Frank Walker filling-in in the fourth quarter and breaking up that TD pass on the jump ball, that play saved the game. For all the plays we gave up as a team, our DBs made some great individual plays that could have made the day even worse.
  14. I still like the 21 carries for 53 yards stat! Vincent Jackson was just too much for our DBs. I have to tip my hat to him. No coverage scheme would have stopped him.
  15. Going to the bar to watch the game. It is only place to watch the game in New Orleans, but there are a lot of Ravens fans. Enjoy the game guys! Go Ravens!!!!
  16. I think Sproles presents more of a threat when he is in tandem with Tomlinson. Sproles as a featured back should not be much of a problem for our defense as we can focus on him exclusively. Remember, with Tomlinson out the Chargers are sure to limit Sproles in the return game as he is their feature back. What scares me about the Chargers is their passing game. Gates and Jackson present huge mismatches. It is not the run game where Sproles has potential to do damage, but it is on the dump-offs and screen passes underneath which could prove to be crucial. Nevertheless, I still think we match up well against the Chargers and have a great shot at winning this game.
  17. This last month is huge in terms of development for the young guys: mainly Pie, Reimold, and Wieters. Get the experience now, come into spring training next year ready to go. Hopefully we will see Adam Jones-type improvement for all three of these guys next season.
  18. Riley was extremely raw. Let him develop on the practice squad this year and spend a year in an NFL conditioning program. As bad as Justin Harper's hands were, the improvement he made from last year to this year was incredible. He couldn't catch the ball, but he was always open. Riley has similar tools, and provided he works hard, should see a great jump in his game come next training camp. Like Harbaugh says, the greatest improvement a player sees in his career is usually from year one to year two. In other words, I would not expect much out of Riley this season, but next season he could push for some PT.
  19. Go D-Mase! Lets get that ring!
  20. I agree with dc... the only touchdown drive the Chiefs had was off of a flukish 50-yard pass on third down. Like dc said, the amount of 3-and-outs was impressive! I mean seriously guys, think about it: if after week one the DEFENSE is what we are worrying about the most, we are in good shape! You know the Ravens are going to play Ravens defense.
  21. Take a picture of it!
  22. I am glad the receivers were open, but you cannot deny that Flacco was not helped out by drops. D-Mase dropped a first down near the sideline, bobbled that long touchdown pass in the first quarter (it was a tough catch), and also had a great chance at pulling in the deep jump ball two plays before the Clayton touchdown. Also, Heap dropped a crucial third down pass that led to the missed field goal. Drops happen just like the eventual misthrown ball or missed receiver. What to come away with this is that the receivers are getting open, and the timing between Flacco and the receivers (especially Clayton who has been injured and Washington who is new) is only going to get better. I'm sensing big years for Clayton and Heap! Here is the bottom line with today's game: Ravens 501 yards of total offense, Chiefs 188 yards, a surplus of 313 yards!
  23. I do not think that Joe Flacco had a bad game. Other than the pick and the one throw across the middle to Mason which was almost picked off, he did not make any mistakes. Max, Joe passed the ball 43 times, and dropped back to pass nearly fifty times. To only throw one INT is excellent. Remember, Mason and Heap each had a couple of drops that would have kept drives alive. For the most part, Joe hit the open receiver and took some very good shots downfield that gave both Mason and Clayton excellent chances to come down with a TD (and he hit Clayton once, obviously). If anything, with the way we were running the ball pressure should have been taken off of Joe by feeding the ball to the three-headed monster. However, we took the training wheels off of Joe today. In my mind, Joe proved a lot today. He proved that he can handle the full offense throwing to all parts of the field. We needed to see that out of Joe today. Imagine when we coming out with running the ball and Joe only has to throw the ball twenty times, there are going to be some big plays downfield! It's only going to get better boys!
  24. Everyone always says they want the explosive offense, well today we felt what it is like to be the Colts. Would you rather have a shoot-out or a defensive struggle? A win is a win, and I'll take this. Obviously we need to work on our discipline as far as penalties and special teams go, but Flacco showed me a lot today. It was also nice to see Clayton and Heap healthy and effective. Washington is going to be a solid, reliable receiver to take pressure off of D-Mase. All three runningbacks played great (good job blocking by McClain) and the offensive line pretty much dominated in both aspects. The run defense was solid as expected, a couple of big completions here and there shook up our pass defense. In short, we have a lot to tighten up, but there is a lot of potential for greatness with this team! Tough matchup next week, you better believe that Harbaugh will have the guys working hard.
  25. He doesn't fumble the ball? Honestly, on most of the returns there was no yardage to be gained. He is a smart returner who won't make dumb mistakes.
