This is stemming from speculation by Gil Brandt on Sirius Radio when he was asked, in his opinion, who could be a potential suitor for Ray Lewis. I heard the segment, PFW took the speculation word-for-word and posted it as a rumor. I would not be surprised if this rumor gives Jerry Jones the idea to go after Ray Lewis though.

Oh yeah, big time. Belle got paid $39 million over three years to sit on his butt to do absolutely nothing. Angelos has been a stickler for physicals ever since. I have heard of patients losing their manhood leaving an Angelos-administered physical. Belle got $65 million over five years, Markakis got $66 million over six years. Depends how you look at it I guess. I was just going by what The Sun said (usually not a good idea ).

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/basebal...0,5464895.story Done deal pending physical. Knowing Angelos, that is going to be one hell of a physical for the second largest contract in Orioles history.

I do not remember the play very well, I just remembered that it was in a crowd deep onto the sideline. I am surprised the ref saw it, the play if I remember was not very near the spot of the foul. -

I thought about this as well, I do not think he was aware that he was out of bounds. You are right, Stone probably should not have been in the game, but were short on DBs. There was not much of a choice. -
I agree as well. I thought Walker played admirably this season. In my opinion he is a solid #3 corner and a reliable spot starter. He certainly more than deserves his spot on this team. I still believe we need to get another starting quality corner, but that is not a belittlement to Walker, it is just that we need more able bodies to match up with passing teams.

What are we agreeing on?

Good blog dc, you hit the nail on the head!

Completely agree on the timeouts. Granted, Pittsburgh is a very tough environment, that stuff happens on the road. You went to Maryland, Gary Williams says the only way to win in Cameron Indoor against Duke is to use up all your timeouts in the first half. Yes, it is a different sport, but the message relates. We had to break up the momentum, and control the crowd noise. Last night, as we saw, every yard counts. We were able to convert a 3rd and 7 which would have been a 3rd and 12 had we taken the 5-yard penalty. It was a game of field position and momentum. The reason receivers didn't get open when Flacco had all day to throw is simple. We had max protect and only three receivers in routes. Pittsburgh pretty much had every receiver double covered in those routes. And when the receivers are being sent 30 yards downfield, it is pretty easy to cover them coming back to the ball. We needed our receivers to be breaking off their routes and trying to find openings in the zone. We needed option routes. -
After last night I definitely think we saw that Suggs is an impact player. Last night Suggs was a true rush backer, he did not have to deal with pass coverages, and I believe we saw his true talent. He would excel in a true 3-4 scheme instead of a hybrid where he is dropping into coverage. With that said, I would re-sign him. First priority is definitely Jay Brown. Get him locked up, no if's and's or but's about it. Then move onto Suggs. Re-sign one of Ray or Scott, preferably Ray unless he is asking for the world. It is time for one of the young guys to step in. I believe they are more than ready. After we get our own guys locked up, we need to address cornerback and wide receiver. Contrary to belief, I do not think our corner play is bad considering what we are blitzing every play. We just need able bodies. Washington, Walker, Rolle are all good in my book. Guys like Ivy and Stone are not going to cut it and are marginal depth. We do not need a star corner, just someone who could start, and most importantly, come up and make a tackle. I am not sure what Cmac has left. Wide receiver is pretty obvious, we need a big guy. Yes, I did not say deep threat, but a big guy. After last night it is evident that a deep threat is not the big problem, the underlying problem is that we need a big guy with soft hands who can fight for the intermediate balls over the middle, on slants, and crossing routes, then get up field for some YAC. If he can get deep, that is great, but what we need is a true go-to-guy who can bailout a bad throw. Todd Heap used to be a guy like this, but Heap looks just about done. Who we pick as defensive coordinator could represent a paradigm shift for this defensive. Picking a guy who tries and emulates Rex Ryan's blitzes could be disastrous. Not many people can draw up effective blitz schemes like Rex, and ineffective blitz schemes lead to big plays for the offense. I would target someone who lines the guys on the defense up, plays a two-gap front with stunts and twists to get pressure with four guys, and just plays defense (like the Patriots 3-4). Other than that we just have to hope that Flacco continues to progress. If he does, we will be just fine. I believe our future is very bright, Harbaugh is a great coach.

It was not the receivers faults, our passing schemes were pretty bad. There were no slants or checkdown options in the middle of the field to counter the blitz. We had no option routes to find holes in the zone. We should really take a page out of the Steelers playbook. -
Nolan is with the Broncos. Nolan would have been a great pickup for us, in my opinion.

dc hit the nail on the head... long developing pass routes was the story of the game. Look what the Steelers did, a lot of quick hitters, small crossing routes to counter the blitz. On offense, everyone wanted us to air the ball, well we tried. It didn't work too well. When you only have three receivers running routes, and they all take a long time to develop, the Steelers had them covered every time. There was nowhere to throw the ball. Big Ben had plenty of options because of slants and crosses, and Ben's big plays came from YAC.

As for the Clark hit, it was completely unintentional. As a football player, he was running full speed to where Flacco was throwing the ball. Both him and Willis were on a straight path for a head on collision, there was nothing anyone could do.
-
Good season guys, there is a lot to look forward to with this team!
-
Wow, you just have to pray for Willis. As for this game, it is exactly like the first Steelers game, the personal foul changed the whole momentum. You go from only needing 20-yards for a gameleading field goal to needing 50+ yards.
-
Don't think the O's will make the playoffs this season?
-
I think we are getting into four down territory.
-
You have to think that ankle is preventing him from cutting. All he is doing is blocking, pretty much straight line running.
-
We needed that, took all the energy out of the crowd.
-
OH MY GOSH... it is the JJ penalty all over again.
-
SUGGS BABY!!!!! Suggs is playing at barely 50% and he is still playing a hell of a game.
-
Typical Ravens football, we score a touchdown then come back with a horrible kickoff.
-
How we are only down two points in this game is an accomplishment in itself.

YES!!!!! PUNCH IT IN NOW!!!!!!!!
