  1. While we are talking about Flacco, I heard a radio interview with Jason Brown this morning on the Sirius Blitz with Adam Schein and Marty Schottenheimer. Brown said Flacco has complete control of the huddle and respect from his teammates. He said while Flacco is low-key, he will speak up to command attention in the huddle. Brown also praised Flacco's work ethic. In training camp, Flacco earned the starting job Brown said. He stated that Flacco would be watching film at 6:30 in the morning. In fact, Brown said Flacco was in this morning at 8am watching tape. We really have something special with Flacco guys!
  2. Darn right! It is a abomination that Harbaugh received zero votes for coach of the year. It is okay, Harbaugh will have a Super Bowl trophy! Even though I believe Ed Reed should win DPOY, I would not be disappointed if Harrison won. He has had a great year as well. If Ware won, I would be a little mad. I am just afraid Ware is going to take votes from Ed. It should really be just down to Ed and Harrison.
  3. Completely agree. Remember, Flacco had two deep balls that were inches away from being complete. Maybe if Flacco had a Wayne, Owens, Moss, Fitz, Boldin, Johnson, White, Smith, etc., those are touchdowns. Heap did not help Flacco out much on that dropped touchdown either. Watching Manning yesterday, Manning had several passes that were dropped interceptions, and many more bad decisions. Flacco on the other hand only had one bad read, on that pass across the middle into double coverage. Flacco did his job yesterday. That pass Flacco made to Mason on the sideline right before the half was one of the most prettiest throws I have ever seen. I don't think people realize he threw that ball 40-yards on a rope with very little effort. Picture perfect pass, spectacular catch by D-Mase! Flacco is more than ready for the playoffs, the prospect of a big game does not seem to faze him like it did Matt Ryan this weekend. I like our prospects going into Saturday. As for next season, get Flacco a big-play receiver and we are really going to be in business!
  4. Big props for coming back and posting! Don't let these guys get to you, they can get a little crazy sometimes, but they calm down 24-48 hours after the game. Definitely hang around in the offseason, it is always nice to hear the perspective of fans from different teams (as long as they are not Steelers fans!). I am sure the Dolphins are going to be an exciting team to watch in the offseason. You guys have the right blueprint for success and should continue to get better.
  5. Not to complement yourself or anything! Just kidding! Congrats! What are you doing now? Are you in the real world yet? I'll be there in another year and change, pretty scary stuff.
  6. Maclin would be a great pick! However, I feel he is going to be right up there with Crabtree come April. Harvin and Heyward-Bey would be great picks in the late first round. This draft also seems to be deep with corners, we could potentially grab a good one. Nevertheless, our top priority has to be a playmaking receiver for Joe to throw to.
  7. I didn't recognize the picture either. Probably because that movie came out ten years before I was born. In fact, I just learned who John Belushi was from max continually posting his picture.
  8. Willis came into camp at 238 pounds, which is considerably heavier than his usual playing weight. In other words, that extra weight is not muscle. I think he has gone down a little since then (he is listed as 232 pounds now), but after the knee surgery he probably has not gotten the opportunity to get himself into true playing shape. However, Willis has looked good the past few weeks. If he can truly dedicate himself this offseason (like he did last offseason before the 2007 season), I really believe he can be an impact player for us. I think Willis has gotten the message. By the way, McClain looks like he could afford to lose a little weight as well.
  9. Aren't you guys being a little harsh on him? I believe he came with good intentions before you guys corrupted him. Max, that picture with Harbaugh high fiving the fans is great!
  10. The number I keep hearing is $9 million. I am in favor of keeping Willis. He has not lost a step or anything, and this whole situation has been blown out of proportion. He can still be a playmaker on this team.
  11. I have confidence that our guys could find something new. God forbid we win the Super Bowl!
  12. I didn't want to start a new topic, so I will post this question here. Should Willis be getting more carries? It definitely seems like his knee is fresh from the rest, and it looks like he has his burst back (which is very noticeable in comparison to McClain). McClain is certainly doing a great job of pounding and tiring defenses, but he has some ball security problems. Could this be because of fatigue? Should Willis be spelling McClain more?
  13. Welcome to the board, I look forward to hearing your perspective on the game! There is going to be a lot of anticipation this week!
  14. The offense was close. Both of those two deep passes to Clayton were only a matter of inches from being a touchdown. You have to be encouraged that Flacco and Cam are attacking the single coverage on the outside. The Titans are going to have to defend that. Heap should have had that touchdown in the first redzone trip. Yes, the defense was a little sloppy in the second half, but I like the aggression playing with the lead. If we went into prevent defense, people would be complaining about that. The pressure on Pennington was consistent all day. If we can do that to Collins, it should be a good day for the defense. The run blocking was not horrible, but it was not great. It got the job done. Remember, Miami is a physical team. If you think next week is going to be any different, prepared to be disappointed because it is going to be an ugly game, for both teams. Here is what next week comes down to: putting pressure on Collins and converting the redzone opportunities into touchdowns. If can do both of these things, I like our chances. Nevertheless, I fully expect next week to be an ugly game. I agree with you though, today felt good. I almost forgot what it felt like to win a playoff game.
  15. Bill Parcells might have hurt Tony Sparano's chances at the award. Parcells is getting just as much credit for the 'Phins turnaround as Sparano is. Anyways, here is John Harbaugh's chance to out due the other two rookie coaches to prove he is the best!
  16. After watching both games yesterday, let me just say this in oggie's defense: Winning on the road in the playoffs is very difficult, even for league MVPs. If Flacco can win today, that would really say something about his poise. I really think we are going to benefit from Flacco's low key demeanor today.
  17. You would think the Browns would learn their lesson from taking our players/coaches/front office personel.
  18. This is a great game, a lot closer than I thought the game would be. Colts are in a tough situation punting out of the back of their own end-zone.
  19. You can definitely tell he is gimpy. He does not have the same burst through the hole and is not cutting as much. However, he is still playing a great game.
  20. I fully believe that Clayton will be able to step into D-Mase's role when D-Mase retires. The both have similar skill sets, and with D-Mase working with Clayton these past few years, Clayton should be ready when the time comes. So yes, we will need a deep threat to complement Clayton pretty soon. I really hope D-Will can become that deep threat we need. It just doesn't seem to be there for him. He has good body control, but his timing and placement on balls is not there. The corner always seems to outplay him for the ball. While big, fast, playmaking receivers are rare, there aren't impossible to find. Obviously finding guys as good as Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, and Andre Johnson almost certainly requires you to go 3-13 and pick in the top five. However, guys like Roddy White, Chad Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Vincent Jackson, Anquan Boldin, Kevin Walter, and Dwayne Bowe are out there to be found. These are all guys who have size and speed to bail out QBs on less than perfect throws throws downfield. Don't get me wrong, if Harvin can become a Harrison, Wayne, Evans, or Jennings-type, that would be just as good. Like you said, that fade route can be down with any type of receiver as long as the timing is right. If Harvin can be that type of guy, I would be all for the pick. If the pick came down to Harvin or Heyward-Bey, I think I would go with DHB at this point. The career production has been pretty similar for both guys.
  21. You said it yourself, we already have two 5'10" receivers. I feel we need that tall deep threat who can go up and get balls and be a redzone threat. You see that catch Fitzgerald made in double coverage bailing out Warner's throw? We need a guy who can do that! (so does everybody though...) Fitz isn't the fastest guy in the world, but his size, smarts, and like you said, timing, allows him to get deep. Would I be mad about Harvin? No, not at all. He would hopefully be a legitimate deep threat like a DeSean Jackson. I would just like to see us draft a bigger deep threat, such as Heyward-Bey.
  22. Welcome to the board! I kind of know how you feel. Even though I live in Maryland only an hour south of Baltimore, I am in supposed Redskins territory. I say supposed because there are just as many Cowboys fans as Skins fans, and there is a Steelers bar right down the street (lots of Steelers fans here as well, remember how the Steelers had home-field advantage at Fed-Ex Field? ). Of course, there are many Ravens fans as well. I usually go to my grandparents house in Owings Mills to watch the games. Keep representing the Ravens!
  23. Game, Set, Match! Do we even need to play the game after that post?
