  1. So Coach Harbaugh was on Movin' The Chains with Kat Kirwin and Tim Ryan on Sirius NFL Radio this afternoon. There were some interesting notes: Everyone is very impressed with Flacco's temperment. The prospect of playing in primetime didn't rattle him one bit. Harbaugh said players spend their whole careers trying to learn how to shake off bad plays like Flacco does so easily (Kyle Boller reference? ). Of course Ed Reed was talked about. Harbaugh said Reed has really just started to get back into the swing of things these past few weeks. Harbaugh praised Reed's discipline and ability to take over a game at free safety, and said he is in the right place 99.9% of the time. Harbaugh then stated the Reed and Ray know the opponent more than anyone else he has ever been around. There was talk about the unbalanced line, and the mismatches is creates with the big backfield behind it (McClean and Neal). No major injuries, just bumps and bruises, day-to-day stuff. Harbaugh said the players will be reved up this week on emotions because it is Steelers week. He said he has to make sure the guys get their proper treatment and do not overwork. Lots of praise for DB coach Mark Carrier. Harbaugh said our DBs our among the most disciplined in league this season because of Carrier. Carrier’s playing experience helps with coaching and the guys have tremendous respect for him. Harbaugh believes Flacco and the team are better and more discipline than they are in Week 3. The key this week against the Steelers will be to protect the ball and the quarterback. And finally, he gave big props to Jameel McClain. Harbaugh mentioned that McClain had a very tough life. McClain's mother raised him and his sibblings on the streets of Philly while working multiple jobs. Harbaugh said Jameel is one of the most motivated, hardworking, and humble individuals he has ever been around. I think we might have something special with J. McClain.
  2. I do not think that is the worry with using McClain as a HB, not every HB in this league has breakaway speed. McClain would be used like a Jerome Bettis or a LenDale White. The worry with McClain is by him losing a little weight and becoming a HB, he loses his effectiveness as a FB. I am not sure if we can afford that. I guess what we do with McClain will depend on what happens with Willis McGahee this offseason, and whether Neil comes back for another season.
  3. Here is a thought for next year: Do we convert McClain to a HB fulltime next season? Right now he is at 260+ pounds. For a fullback, he needs that weight. However, if he were to be a half back fulltime, he could probably stand to lose some of that gut without losing any strength and power, and at the same time gaining some shiftiness and quickness. So would it be in our best interest to maybe put McClain on a HB training regime, get him down to a solid 250, and just pound him away?
  4. This is how I feel. I am scared of exactly what happened last time: Sacks, force fumbles, defensive touchdowns.
  5. Or how about that backwards pass to McGahee on 3rd-and-1? Cam knows what he is doing!
  6. LOL, the extremeredskins board is in meltdown mode.
  7. You realize that throw was to the completely other side of the field, right? I think Flacco just needs puts too much air under it at times. However, then there are the passes like the one last week to Clayton which was perfect. Honestly, it is no different than what Brady and Manning do. They put the ball in the air to give their receivers a chance to make a play. Moss has bailed out Brady countless times, as has Wayne/Harrison for Manning.
  8. It is a wash. Mason dropped a long intermediate pass earlier, as did Clayton. Mason bailed him out on this one.
  9. I guess that is why we haven't been passing the ball. Maybe we should stick to the short passes/draws on third and short.
  10. Another drop... ewww :P
  11. COMMON! STOP WITH THE BRIAN BILLICK PLAY-CALLING!!!
  12. Pretty pathetic first half by the offense. I am hoping for another second half explosion!
  13. Nice punt, nice coverage.
  14. That would have been a nice connection.
  15. It was the right call none-the-less.
  16. I like the shot. It was man-to-man downfield, you have to take it.
  17. Think McGahee is a little rusty?
  18. Skins got lucky, that was a fumble. EDIT: Forward progress my ass.
  19. You have to keep containment JJ.
  20. 3rd and long, turn up the heat!
  21. This should not be a surprise to Skins fans, E Reed single-handedly beat them last time we met. Is it just me, or is the crowd loud tonight?
  22. OH YEAH!!!!!! Fantasy points, Ravens Defense!
  23. There is the other McClain brother!
