  1. Bengals are choking this game away. A backwards pass on a two point conversion, Burfict and three other Bengals running into the locker room after an INT, and the fumble. You can tell they haven't been on this stage before. Heck even the fans throwing stuff at Ben. The whole city doesn't know how to handle themselves in the playoffs.
  2. Restructuring contracts means big upfront money and it becomes more difficult for the team to get rid of you. If the player doesn't take a paycut, it's a no brainer for the player. Cash in pocket plus added security. Example: Big Ben has restructured twice already. It's dangerous for the team to restructure contracts consistently. Immediate cap flexibility for sure to he dead money down the road.
  3. I agree, you definitely try. At the same time we don't know what happens behind the scenes. I think a lot more conversations happen than what we ever find out.
  4. I'll take the present value of the player's production plus the future discounted value of a compensation pick over the future discounted value of the second round pick. I doubt we could get a second round pick anyways.
  5. I agree lets trade Gilmore for a first round pick.
  6. Al Davis is no longer runs the Raiders, can't fleece them anymore.
  7. That's not necessarily true.
  8. Agree to disagree. Develop and keep them all and take the comp pick down the line, unless a team offers a first or second rounder.
  9. We've been hit hard by injuries the past two years. Williams wasn't exactly Mr. Durable his rookie year. I'd keep all three as insurance. If we lose Gillmore in a couple years to free agency, I'll take the third/fourth round compensation pick provided he develops as we expect.
  10. I don't know if I agree with you on the details but I certainly agree with you that corporate welfare needs to go. Either way sounds like a great topic for the general forum
  11. Ozzie ends answering the last question that WR is still a very big need. Good to hear.
  12. It's like baseball salaries, if you don't pay a player, someone else will. It is hard to fault an owner for relocating when there is always a bozo governor who will offer them a stadium. Supply and demand, only 32 teams, lots of cities, even more stupid politicians. My opinion: a referendum should be required before a there are government handouts for a stadium. If the people vote for it, then so be it that's what they want.
  13. Without a doubt! There is sure to be a battle as the lease gets closer to coming up. Bisciotti has already mentioned in the past a roof for M&T would be nice...
  14. Someone asked a great question to Bisciotti talking about his vote on LA relocation, and how growing up as a Colts fan and the impact that has on that city's fans. Bisciotti said the league would fine him if he said anything specific. It was a great opening for Bisciotti to talk about stadium updates and Baltimore's need for a bigger convention center.
  15. @JoeMeoli: Team's draft priority: Tackle, corner, safety, pass rushers, per Bisciotti and Newsome. #Ravens No mention of needing a playmaking receiver, which is disappointing. Ozzie mentioned the ability of AJ Green and the incredible TD catch he made last week, but doesn't sound like its a priority. Said development is more important. We haven't developed a receiver in 20 years, I'm not holding my breath. Preston is really hammering Ozzie on Perriman's knee injury. Good questions by Preston, a lot of fans are thinking what he's asking.
  16. Harbaugh just said Pees is staying and they allowed Monachino to go to Indy to be their DC... Offseason not off to a good start.
  17. I would much rather have Clarence Brooks as the DC. The defensive line has played great for years under Brooks. Rumors are the Colts are looking at our OLB Ted Monachino to be their DC. Heck, make Brooks and Monachino co-DCs.
  18. Boyle is our best blocking TE though. Gilmore and Williams might prove to be redundant.
  19. Gordon is a "hometown" hero. Grew up a Royals fan in relatively nearby Lincoln, NE, went to Nebraska, second overall pick, and now obviously brought a WS to KC. Apparently he has a full no trade clause (but he is close to vesting with the Royals which would give him the right to block a trade anyways). Royals might have gotten a discount, or other teams may not have wanted to give a fifth year to a 31-year old plus a draft pick. I've read Gordon is a guy who keeps himself in excellent shape and has a strict diet. Maybe giving him five years would be worth it? High OBP + excellent defense. Reports are saying Justin Upton is struggling to get a long-term deal and might have to sign a one-year deal. Even so, teams are getting very careful parting with draft picks. Another reason why I'd rather re-sign CD than go get someone else. Maybe this will get things going with Davis?
  20. @gdowning14: Ravens TEs Crockett Gillmore, Maxx Williams and Nick Boyle all graded in the NFL's top-15 TEs by @PFF.
  21. Spoilers below... I agree with you. That's why I was glad to see Rey beat him up. Ren was annoying me with his whining. I liked Rey's character a lot. The craziest theory I heard is that Obi Wan had a daughter who Luke ended up having a child with (Rey). So Rey is the granddaughter of Darth Vader and Obi Wan. So she's "Obi Two". Sorry... I also didn't care much for Poe. It's like they tried to take a greaser from American Graffiti and put him in Star Wars. Sort of like George Lucas did in the 2008 failure Indiana Jones film with Shia LaBeouf. Didn't work for me then, doesn't work for me now.
  22. Star Wars spoilers below: I wasn't disappointed by Star Wars, but I wasn't blown away. Overall solid movie. Felt like I was watching a mix of Harry Potter and Star Wars Episode IV. I actually watched Episode IV the night before, so maybe that's why? Kylo Ren seemed like a cool character at first but once he took his helmet off he seemed wimpy. It was like watching Snape from Harry Potter. And did anyone else think Snoke looked like Dumbledore? Other than that great movie. I loved Finn, Han Solo and Chewy. BB8 was a funny character.
  23. According to multiple sources on Twitter the Royals re-signed Alex Gordon, 4-years $70 million-range.
  24. I agree. While the defense played better in the second half, the whole second in yardage stat is misleading. In the second half the defense was still only 21st in redzone defense and 24th in points allowed. I would rather the defense be like 2013 and let up a lot of yards but be solid in the redzone. That is hardly acceptable and does not excuse an absolutely abysmal first half of the season.
  25. I didn't imply anything. You said you can't argue with math. I merely pointed out your mathematical argument is incomplete and provided additional facts. I am not taking a side here. If anything I lean to agree with you despite your faulty argument.
