  1. I felt the same way... I thought for sure the flag was for the excessive celebration/taunting by Jimmy.
  2. I'll gladly take a lower draft pick for a Steelers sweep.
  3. Strong one-handed sack by Z!
  4. Mallet has an absolute cannon. I don't think his release is as quick as Flacco's, but he gets ever bit as many RPMs as Flacco gets. Mallet kind of reminds me of Jeff George, big, strong armed gun slinger. One of those tough, intimidating-looking figures that commands attention. Like George, Mallet has had his share of off field issues. Going into the draft, scouts praised Mallet for his on field presence, said guys naturally gravitated towards him at the combine and I'm throwing drills. On that Matthews TD: that's a play call I haven't seen since we had Anquan Boldin!
  5. Jalen Ramsey needs to be the guy! Best playmaker in the draft!
  6. I love SSS but Ozzie is going to use this as an excuse not to draft a received high. We really need to start developing receivers.
  7. I am confident there are 30 other teams that have a similar story to this. Redman was not a bad draft pick by any means. It was no fluke the guy stuck around in the NFL for 11 years (how many other third round picks can say the same?). Hes a sharp guy with a high FBI. There is also no guarantee that Brady would have had the same level of success with another team. Him and Belicheck seem perfect for each other.
  8. Looks like it's Davis or bust for the Orioles: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-orioles-free-agent-spending-20151217-story.html Scouting report on Kim from a KBO analyst based in Seoul: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/bal-a-korean-baseball-analyst-breaks-down-hyunsoo-kims-game-20151217-story.html Says he was an Alex Gordon-like player in the KBO and was a top-10 player in that league.
  9. Good post, Tim. Yes I agree, Treadwell and Ramsey are my two top targets. Treadwell may be one good 40 away from being in play for us in the 5-10 range. As for Ramsey, I definitely think he's separated himself from Hargreaves (I believe you liked Ramsey better initially anyways). Hargreaves got absolutely owned by Ridley, the redshirt freshmen WR from Alabama. Not what I want to see out of an upperclassman, supposed to be the next Revis. Tim, what do you think of Dotson from TCU? I see he's been getting a push lately. Awesome production, but they run that spread offense... While on WRs, what about the kid from Baylor with insane stats as well? Coleman I believe is his name. I know he's a smaller WR. Comparing him to other smaller, Big XII receivers with outstanding production: is he more Brandon Cooks or Mark Clayton?
  10. O's sign Korean LF Hyun-soo Kim. Average defender and limited to LF, but he hit .326/.428/.541 with 26 doubles, 28 homers and 121 RBI. He walked 101 times and struck out only 63 times. Sure, that was in the KBO, but Jung-ho Kang had an outstanding year for the Pirates. So a successful transition is possible. Regardless, Kim, bringing back LJ Hoes, drafting Joey Rickard in the Rule 5 draft, the message is clear: Duquette and Buck want OBP. I am still holding out hope for re-signing Crush. That way Trumbo is the full time DH. However, if we can't sign Crush, Justin Upton would be a nice fixture in RF, and hopefully one of Kim, Hoes or Rickard can pan out in LF. Trumbo and Trey Mancini could be our 1B/DH combo.
  11. Sorry if this has been posted: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/12/17/pro-3-biggest-offseason-needs-for-the-baltimore-ravens/
  12. It's complete BS. It's none of MLB's business if Rose legally gambles now. Ty Cobb was allegedly a racist and murderer, and he's celebrated as one of the greatest players of all time. It's purely the line of commissioners that does not want to step on the shoes of the commissioner that hated Rose. I say leave it up to the baseball writers. These guys vote on steroid users every year and choose not to let them in. Heck, the writers are black balling possibly the second greatest hitting catcher of all time in Mike Piazza, without any shred of evidence he did PEDs. If the writers are that appalled at Rose's actions, they will simply not vote him in.
  13. South Park just finished their three part season finale which was based on online ads. The theme was how ads have evolved to the point where it is difficult to determine what is an ad and what is an actual website or news item. Really funny, I won't spoil anymore of the story arc. These "lists" are a perfect example of that: use recycled news items plus add a little frabrication for click bait, and before you know it you are distracted from what you were originally doing and you are now exposed to all the site's sponsor ads.
  14. You're just embarrassed you were fooled by the spam website. You're cute when you know you're wrong!
  15. Haha you're ridiculous.
  16. Look at the source. Find me a legitimate source that reports the same thing.
  17. I'm calling bullshit on that article. Rice didn't even go to trial plus he got nearly $3.5M from the Ravens for wrongful termination. Not to mention he received a $15M signing bonus in July 2012.
  18. Wow what a card! The Rockhold-Weidman fight was spectacular and McGreggor shocked everyone. What an insane quick exchange of punches, Aldor was knocked out cold and then was in complete disbelief. Took me a second to realize what even happened. Romero-Souza was a great fight to watch, went down to the wire. Romero is an absolute tank. The guy is jacked.
  19. According to Duquette the O's were "close" to an extension last offseason. You have to think whatever difference there was at that point, it will pale in comparison to what Machado would make on the open market. Brady Anderson commented today that the O's need to start paying players earlier. Machado seems open to an extension but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
  20. Who else is pumped for 194 tonight!?
  21. Boyle and Allen have been very pleasant surprises. Allen's knock was he couldn't run through tackles, but he has run hard this year. Boyle was supposed to be an iron gargoyle, but he is a surprising athlete. Not very fast, but a fluid athlete with good quickness and change of direction.
  22. This offseason refs need to study the difference between a push off and a DB slipping. This is the second time we've been screwed by such a call (the first being last year with Steve Smith vs. the Bengals). On the topic of refs, their performance this year has been downright miserable. Missed calls, bad calls, going into the booth for five minutes and still not getting the call right. The worst part is when the TV studio goes to Mike Perriera who clearly explains the call, then the ref comes out with the opposite call. Four suggestions: 1. Make refs full time employees of the NFL. Year-round training for these guys, full benefits to make them vested in their profession. This is a multi-billion dollar sport and the league is being cheap with the refs who have a lot of power in determining the quality of the product. 2. Refs need to be physically capable of doing their job. 20-20 vision, or if not they have to wear glasses/goggles that get them to that point. Refs need to be in good physical shape. They cannot get fatigued running up and down the field and have that cloud their ability to make a judgement. 3. Harping back on the NFL being cheap, tennis for years has had the technology to track the pin point where a tennis ball hits the court. The NFL does not think it's worth it to implement this technology for sideline, goal line and first down markers? 4. Everything should be challengeable. Implement a system that is similar to the MLB. Have a team in NYC that watches all the games. Buzzes down when there is a bad call. There is a brief pause in the action, and the call is made by the NYC crew. If Mike Perriera is always able to explain everything so clear and perfectly for Fox, why doesn't the NFL hire twenty of him to sit in a room in NYC to get these calls right.
  23. Jason Heyward gets 8-years $184M from the Cubs. Supposedly he rejected $200M deals from the Nats and Cards because the Cubs gave him insane player opt-out clauses after three and four years. Risky contract for the Cubs. Heyward is only 26-years old and plays outstanding defense, as well as gets on base at a high clip. However, he is an enormous guy that hits for no power. The Cubs are going to place him in CF because Solar and Schwarber are awful defensive players. You know Heyward's defense will decline over time because he is a big guy who hasn't grown into his 6'5" frame yet. Take into account there is no power premium (and it will likely even decline worse because of his awkward swing), and this has the makings of a bad contract. I think he is a similar player to Nick Markakis or Carl Crawford, and not a Bryce Harper or Mike Trout.
  24. I love Brown's game as a WR. Great hands, excellent body control and he is strong high pointing the ball in the air. We don't have any other receivers who play like that. He should be getting all the opportunities for us.
