  1. Josh Charles sat with his dad in the first row right on top of third base yesterday. I wonder if Josh was trash talking Miggy? It has been cool seeing Josh Charles and Mike Rowe at the past two games. I wonder where Ed Norton is?
  2. @fedthrill: This could be one of the best #Orioles pics we've ever seen. #LetsGoOs #WeWontStop #OriolesMagic http://t.co/C3VBhuK2ow
  3. No words for that win. Absolutely incredible! The team is truly special. Let's end this on Sunday! That atmosphere at Camden is an enormous advantage. That is probably the best Orioles game I have seen in my life.
  4. Congrats Bills and Chargers fans! You no longer have to worry if you'll be able to watch your team play week in and week out!
  5. Who do you guys start at third? I'm leaning Kelly Johnson. I don't think we can risk bad defense at that position.
  6. Tigers it is! This series worries me, but if we can get to the Tigers bullpen and keep the Tigers offense away from the big inning we have a good chance.
  7. Rrrrr as a Hoosier that was a very frustrating game! Edsall gets a lot of crap but he's put together some very solid recruiting classes. With the B1G wide open this year, the Terps could be a big threat.
  8. I see it completely opposite, much more money will be poured into college football with the Big Five becoming autonomous and IMO eventually only sponsoring revenue sports (football, basketball, and baseball), with an even amount of women's sports to satisfy Title IX. Everything else becomes club sports. If that happens, the players will be paid and even more advertising and sponsorship opportunities are available for college athletics (if that's what you want to call it at that point). Given the NFL has limited spots available, I can guarantee you the player's union will do whatever they can to maintain some sort of amateur system so veterans are able to keep their jobs longer. The NFLPA is controlled by the current players, and those players look out for themselves. We saw this with the new rookie pay scale. This will be no different. The Big Five at that point, realizing a legitimate threat could arise from some sort of minor league system that offers to pay the players, will almost certainly cave to pay the players first. In short, I do not see money evaporating from college football anytime soon. With that said, I could certainly see Harbaugh taking the job. He has won a Super Bowl, there is nothing left to accomplish at the NFL level in a sense. I'm sure there's part of him that would love the job given he grew up in Anne Arbor. Heck, Texas offered Nick Saban $100 million, including a $12-15 signing bonus. If these colleges can raise hundreds of millions of dollars from its boosters for major athletic facilities renovations, there is no reason Michigan can't raise $15 million and give that to Harbaugh in the form of a signing bonus and then give him $6-7M a year. A Super Bowl coach won't go back to college at the height of his success unless he's the highest paid college coach in the nation. Money talks, and if Michigan offers Harbaugh ten years and the highest paid coach in the NCAA, I say there's no way he passes up that type of stability and money to go home. Harbaugh can deny his interest all he wants now, but if a hard contract comes on the table, different story. My two cents at least.
  9. I want to check this show out. Have it on my to watch list on Hulu.
  10. Glad to see this posted. I was legitimately crushed when I heard Eric died. He was by far my favorite caller. I would actually check the OnDemand listing on Sirius XM for each episode to see if he called in and then fast forward to his segment. On the surface the amount of shit Eric got was so bad for someone in his situation, but Eric was such a little asshole you wouldn't feel bad for him. Once again that sounds bad, but his confidence and expectation of entitlement was at such a high level that he forced you to treat him like a normal person, and bust his balls as such. In the end, I would say it was a good thing because he was truly treated like a normal person and no one looked down on him for his disability. Johnny Fratto said it best: Eric must have been an evil dictator in another lifetime based of his personality and he was cursed to his disability." I still listen to Stern and hope to hear "Eric the Actor is on the line." It was great to here Kinmel and Arquette call in with their condolences, as well as all the other celebs who reached out. #byefornow
  11. Haha me too.
  12. That was a meltdown of epic proportions. That punt was pathetic.
  13. KC is still only a game behind going into play today.
  14. Right but Rice responded to the messages saying he had love for Bisciotti. Furthermore KVV stated earlier in the article that Rice still had love for Ozzie and Bisciotti clearly stated in his text he spoke with Ozzie about Ray. Not including Ray's response is an enormous oversight and paints the messages in a slanted manner. As a journalist, you're job is to include the information, and let the reader make the determination of what happened. Instead it the "facts" we're presented in a slanted manner that made it seem like evidence in proving the author's point. Like I said, I believe most of what is in the report. However, one oversight where it seems like the journalist displayed a particular motive, and it casts doubt on the entire report. Just how I feel about it.
  15. Right and that's exactly my point. They only gave ESPN part of the message that made Bisciotti look bad. As a writer you have to question every piece of evidence that you get and what motivation source had behind it. The way ESPN used the texts were to make Bisciotti look like he was offering hush money when in fact Ray Rice responded to the texts leaving it up for interpretation. KVV or whoever should have tried to obtain the complete conversation or not included that evidence in the report. If one oversight is made in an investigation it opens the whole report up for doubt.
  16. This is a good summary. At first I believed the ESPN report in its entirety, however, ESPN's failure to include the full text conversation whether intentional or not causes me to question the whole report. KVV is a really solid reporter, so I'm sure most of his report is accurate. However, KVV did not address the text message oversight on the Fan this morning. And while he claims only 30-40% of the sources used were in Rice's camp, having 30-40% of your evidence come from sources with motivated intentions is too much for me. The truth is in there somewhere between the ESPN report and Bisciotti's presser. So as PFT, it's up to the fans to piece it together themselves. Hypothetically, if the Ravens attempted to cover up the video tape as ESPN claims, who's to say they didn't plant information to internal sources as a test of loyalty? A long, unrealistic shot, but the burden is on ESPN to prove their story. If we are to trust their sources, we have to consider everything.
  17. Also have to think Marlon Brown figures into the equation heavily as a possession, slot receiver.
  18. Wow that would have threw me for a loop. Honestly, I had no idea that sockdolager was a an actual word until just now. I had to google it because I figured it was too much of a coincidence.
  19. By your logic, lets take Hoyer over Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger too.
  20. I heard on the Fan breaking down Suggs sack totals the last two seasons or so. In summary, he feasts on bad offensive tackles, but good offensive tackles shut him down. Suggs did a decent job of containing the run today, but I am starting to agree with you, his days as a dominant rusher seem to be over. You called it last season saying he didn't deserve the contract, I'll give you your props!
  21. A normal 29-year old man doesn't fall to the ground untouched like that and fractures his hip. You'd have to hit me with some super science to get me to believe this injury was not related to last year's injury. This has to be career threatening. Good thing Pitta signed the contract before this season.
  22. We have some work to do. Jacoby Jones is unreliable as a third receiver. Aiken and Marlon Brown need to be in the lineup more. Love how Juice got some touches once Pitta went down. If we are going to be successful on offense, Juice will have to be a big part of that. We are going to be able to run the ball this season, we need to capitalize on that. I did not see too many playactions fakes today. On defense something is going to have to be figured out with the pass rush, its non-existent. Matt Elam is an enormous liability as a cover safety, as are Miles and Stewart. Hopefully Will Hill can come off suspension soon and maybe Brooks gets some looks. Receivers and Flacco are still off. It seems either a receiver would drop a ball, or Flacco would miss an open guy. Flacco missed Torrey in the redzone. Flacco had all day to throw but still threw a late, inaccurate pass. Flacco knew he missed it. Even the PI play with Torrey, if Flacco leads Torrey that's a TD and Torrey doesn't have to come back for the ball. Steve Smith is the effing man.
  23. Love the win, but wow Matt Elam had a terrible game. And our pass rush is non-existent. We are going to have to come up with some new blitz package because our front four is not getting it done. Will Hill cannot come back soon enough.
  24. The way it sounds to me from the OTL report, Cass is set up to be the fall man for the Ravens.
  25. I admired and trusted Bisctiotti as well, but his reputation is shattered as far as I am concerned, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to repair. As far as Bisciotti future as owner, unless Goodell goes down and the other owners really put the pressure on Bisciotti to sell, I doubt he sells the team. Even if he did, I doubt the team would move from Baltimore. The attendence is among tops in the league and plenty of local corporate sponsorship opportunities. Not to mention a nice stadium with a lease that runs through 2026, by then you have to think a team will have already moved to LA.
