I could see it before. Expanded rosters is a rare issue where the owners and NFLPA agree. Not sure if the NFLPA wants an expanded season yet. As far as an expanded season: what does everyone think of a 17 game season, 3 preseason games? The extra game is an annual AFC-NFC rivalry game for each team with home-field switching each year. For example, an annual Ravens-Skins game, or Steelers-Eagles. Think rivalry week in college football. The game could be played the first or second game of the season when the hype would be greatest to kick off the a new season.

Welcome back JT. I haven't read much about the Bengals this offseason, but your team has some serious talent. How do you see the offense and defense after losing two very good coordinators. Any drop off?
-
If only they could expand the active rosters now.

21 games over .500. The Angels just lost their best pitcher for the year. We have just as good a chance as anyone to go to the WS! I think Buck realizes this is a special year. He wants a WS bad. Opportunities like the one we have now come few and far between in baseball.

Much needed win today. Johnny Baseball displayed some serious power today!

Jimmy Smith has nothing to prove. Sit him out the last two preseason games no questions asked.

We are already paying Jacoby big bucks to be our returner. See if you can trade Deonte for a late round draft pick.

I'll give you props for now. I will say the O's are getting hot at the right time and the AL is shaping up to be very winnable for us.

Stewart doesn't necessarily have the best reputation. http://nypost.com/2014/08/12/cousin-of-driver-stewart-injured-last-year-wants-him-banned/

Wow I speechless! We never get those types of wins against the Yanks!

NCAA’s leaders are sealing its fate
thundercleetz replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Maryland Terrapins / NCAA
I haven't read this yet but it looks pretty detailed. http://m.espn.go.com/wireless/story?storyId=11329099 -
@masnRoch: Encouraging that Machado was in the postgame handshake line and later walked into Buck's office to talk. Without crutches #orioles Hopefully that's a good sign.

I'm seeing this the same way DC is describing it. Yes, the driver had no business being that far out on the track. However, I don't see why Stewart had to be so close. I am also confused why Stewart revved his engine when approaching the driver. I am also an untrained eye when it comes to race cars, so it is entirely possible I am missing something.

ACC, Maryland settle dispute
thundercleetz replied to thundercleetz's topic in Maryland Terrapins / NCAA
I pointed out the television deal that kept them in the Big XII. The Longhorn Network gives them additional revenue that other Big XII teams do not get. USC wasn't going to put up with that in the Pac-12. And no way the B1G and SEC Networks allow the Longhorns to maintain exclusive rights to their brand and still share in conference revenue. Even if they did, good luck convincing Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida, SC and Georgia that Texas deserves more money than they do. -
That was the worst umpired game all season.

ACC, Maryland settle dispute

As long as the Big XII has Texas and Oklahoma they'll be fine. Texas has a sweetheart television deal in the Big XII that no other conference would put up with. So baring anything catastrophic they'll stay. However, it is important that the conference makes a move before the SEC or PAC12 like you mentioned above. -

NCAA’s leaders are sealing its fate

I guess that's the risk they take. Also, like the NFL concussion suite, longer it takes to settle, the more former players join the suite the more the potential pot has to be shared. -

All I'm saying as long as the NCAA doesn't piss off the Power 5 by granting increasing amounts of autonomy, there will become a point where lawyer fees for the players will eat too much into the potential benefits. I definitely think there will be a settlement reached before the courts can render a final decision. -

Agreed, and the Big XII is not going to stay at ten teams forever. -
Asa Jackson also went down. Looked bad at first but now Aaron Wilson is reporting a minor ankle injury.

I agree with Sylvester, I don't think Tyrod is nearly as good as you're saying he is. Outside of a couple of trick plays or formations trying to catch the defense off guard, I don't think he is able to help us any.

Seems like the ACC is safe until the end of the current television contract. It will be interesting to see what happens after that. -

It will be interesting to see what happens. The NCAA has already said they will appeal: http://m.espn.go.com/wireless/story?storyId=11334265 This could take years through the court system. With the power conferences in agreement with the NCAA, there is near unlimited funds for legal fees. How long can the opposing side last? I have a feeling there will be a settlement. -
Gotcha that makes sense. Sounds like it was an unfortunate combination of a couple different factors, the kid walking too far out onto the track with unpredictable behavior, and Stewart maybe going a little too fast or possibly even trying to scare the kid by getting a little too close. Either way unfortunate situation.
