  1. We'll agree to disagree on this one.
  2. Speaking of a slot receiver we just drafted Michael Campanero out of Wake Forest! Local giy who went to River Hill too. Great move. Undersized but sturdy build and very quick. His 40 times wasn't bad either (4.45). Strictly a slot receiver which is what we need.
  3. I am still concerned about wide receiver. We need depth. I am comfortable with the Smith brothers, Jacoby and Marlon. However, we desperately need a quick slot receiver. Hopefully Marlon can develop into a possession guy who can be physical out of the slot on occasion. Aaron Mellette will be ready to compete this training camp after a year in an NFL weight and film room.
  4. Our draft is over. Can't say I expected it to go the way it did, but I'm really interested to see how some of these guys pan out. This is a very important draft for us.
  5. Apparently Urschel is super smart. I like the Taliaferro pick. Glad we didn't waste cap room on Blount.
  6. :P Good pick for them though. I would have liked him but we need either a quick slot receiver or a big possession guy.
  7. This is from Martavis Bryant's ESPN Insider profile:
  8. There are a lot of talented slot receivers left. I hope we grab one of them.
  9. I did not watch the debate but from reading the summary I am glad Gansler got on Brown. As far as who's trying to get the Baltimore vote, Gansler makes a solid case. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2014-03-13/news/bal-baltimore-ministers-organization-endorses-gansler-for-governor-20140313_1_attorney-general-douglas-f-gansler-baltimore-ministers http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/gansler-opens-baltimore-office-says-hell-be-somebody-who-cares-about-the-city/2014/02/01/d840b882-8b7c-11e3-a5bd-844629433ba3_story.html However, like papa said someone with progressive ideas like Mizeur could easily take Baltimore by emphasizing decriminalization and the war on drugs. She seems like someone who will actually follow through with this. Even as a registered Republican, I think Mizuer is an interesting candidate who has some intriguing ideas I agree with (marihuana decriminalization, assisted suicide, ending gerrymandering in Maryland, campaign transparency). She also seems serious about many other types of reform that would be good for our state. Most importantly she seems genuine. I respect Brown because of his military experience, however I have no confidence in his ability to govern. I feel it would be more of the same. In the Republican field I like Ron George a lot, he has no chance to win though. Completely different, but like Mizuer, I think he is a genuine person. I do not like any of the other candidates. I feel if a Republican wanted to win they'd open the primaries to independent and a candidate would have boldly chosen a Democrat as a running-mate. The party did neither, and honestly, their platform offers nothing and is unelectable in Maryland.
  10. Nice! Pierce is tearing it up, I wonder how the lineup will look when Crush comes back.
  11. Brian Pariani is one of the best tight-end coaches in the league. You have to trust he had a lot of input on this pick.
  12. From ESPN on Terrence Brooks' character profile.: Seems like a real good kid.
  13. I realize that. What I mean is the entire defensive line is old regardless and desperately needs depth. Get the talent sort it out later. Even CJ Mosley. Everyone says ILB wasn't a position of need, but there is no guarantee that Arthur Brown is ready to step up. If anything, these last two picks show how we have a lot more holes than many of us thought initially.
  14. One other thing: Ngata is probably gone after this upcoming season unless he takes a cap friendly extension. This pick might look a lot better next season.
  15. I'll admit I thought for sure the pick would be Moses or the FSU safety. I feel a second round pick for an undersized nose tackle is a big risk. I don't know anything about Jerrigan other than some early hype this year, but is he any better than NT Jesse Williams who went in the fifth round last year? However, I learned long ago not to doubt Ozzie so I'll withhold judgement.
  16. Remember our run defense broke down terribly in the fourth quarter all last season. Looks like Ozzie wasn't happy about that...
  17. Agreed it was a no win situation for Savage, or anyone for that matter, in Cleveland.
  18. If Phil wasn't wrong sometimes he's still be working for the Browns Hey you have to give Ozzie credit for Jared Johnson! Upshaw isn't a star but I wouldn't call him a bust. Either way, yes Alabama players in general have been underwhelming when they reach the NFL outside of maybe Julio Jones.
  19. I just heard an interview with Phil Savage and he said the opposite about Mosley's FBI. Savage is the color commentator for the Tide and Director of the Senior Bowl. Sirius XM NFL Radio has Savage on all the time to break down prospects and the guy is no BS. He watches tape 365 to decide who to invite to the Senior Bowl. I haven't seen Mosley play much myself so I cannot speak on him. However, Savage's opinion is one I trust. Who knows, could he biased because he's an Alabama alum and current color commentator? Possibly. But I haven't found that to be the case with him breaking down Alabama prospects in the past since becoming Director of the Senior Bowl. With that said and to add to your point, what does concerns me is why did the Steelers pass on Mosley and pick another ILB? They might have saw the same things you saw Tim. Another thing that concerns me is his short shuttle time of 4.4. That is a slow time and probably a step or two slower than he should be. I know Mosley is more of a banger than a finesse guy, but if he's not quick laterally he might have trouble navigating between the tackles.
  20. Actually scratch what I just said. Wieters took ground balls at first today. That could be an option.
  21. The only problem with using Wieters as a primary DH is we might have to carry three catchers and Cruz has to play in the outfield.
  22. Very good win. Add in the Wieters news and yesterday was a good day for the O's. We really have some guys who can absolutely crush the ball. Schoop and Jones killed their HR's last night. And Cruz's past two HR's have been double and triple deckers. Fun to watch. I really think Schoop is going to get better as the year goes on. He'll never consistently take a walk, but he seems like a kid who has tough skin and learns from his mistakes. It's really fun to watch him go to the batter's box with no gloves on hacking at balls. With his size, power and bat speed he's kind of like a poor man's Vlad Guerrero. Did anyone see his walk the other day? He passed up on two very questionable calls by the ump. The radio announcers were joking he either is seeing the ball really well or is extremely confused in the box haha.
  23. Good article. Thanks for sharing. It will be fun to keep an eye on these guys.
  24. Right I completely agree. All I'm saying is how do we know the deadline hasn't already passed? You bring up a very good point about the economic cost. We talk about deadlines, well the way I see it is there's no one hard deadline, probably different timelines where certain areas of the world will be hit harder than others. When that happens a premium is put on the habitable areas. In other words, the economic question you bring up might not truly come into play until those who do not have the resources available to relocate are already affected. Until we get to a point where the economic costs of protecting the environment don't windfall to the individual citizen, I don't anticipate anything major happening. Unfortunately, by that point it may be too late for a lot of people.
  25. Not to mention four picks are compensatory and cannot be traded. With that said I definitely think we are going to try and trade down. It will he tough to though.
