  1. Yeah I was at a wedding reception and I told everyone the A's went up by four. We all started celebrating being tied in the division. Then a few minutes later all our phones went off with alerts that the Yanks won. Everyone was shocked.
  2. 87 wins and 23 games over .500!!! Lets get the sweep today! I still am in shock that the Yanks came back and beat the A's being down four runs in the bottom of the thirteen. A's need to win today. IMO we need the division the wild card game will almost certainly be against an AL West team. We do not have a good track record against the A's or Angels, whether its on the road or at home. I am going to be furious if we get that first wild card spot by a few games then lose the play-in!
  3. 86 wins and 12 games left. Going only .500 the rest of the way gets us to 92 wins. I'm thinking 94-95 wins!!!!
  4. 85 wins!!! I'm with Crav, forget the Wild Card, we're all in for the division. The Yanks have a three game series against Oakland coming up, lets hope the A's can do some damage!
  5. TWENTY games over .500! Incredible!
  6. We have a really good chance to win each of the remaining series we have. If we do so that would give us ten more wins and put us at 93 wins for the year (94 if we sweep Seattle). We are going to need every win we can get because the Yankees have a favorable remaining schedule as well, outside of three games at home against Oakland. But I will say this, the last week of the season is going to be NUTS. We end the season with a three game series in Tampa and the Yankees end at home with a three game series against Boston. Both teams are going to out there gunning to ruin a season.
  7. No matter what happens, being 18 games over .500 this late in the season is incredible! Oakland has always given us a terrible time. Taking one out of three against them is not terrible. The next thirteen games have us in a really good position to go on a run! Three games at Seattle, three games at Boston, four games at home against Toronto, and three games at home against Boston. We really have a good opportunity here guys. We have done traditionally well in Seattle and at home against Toronto, and we have owned Boston this season. We have as good a chance as anyone to win the division!
  8. I thought the exact same thing. The UMD offense looks prehistoric. Many times more simplistic than anything Billick ever put on the field. Why are we still running shotgun, choice option plays with less than two minutes left? The two minute offense was absolutely miserable. Seriously with all the practice time a division 1 football team gets THIS is the best offensive system Edsal and staff can come up with? No organization, urgency or downfield passing play in the two minute? The throw back screen on third and long was a terrible call. Even if we did not get a first down, we needed to get field position for a game tying field goal. Instead the long developing screen plays goes for a five yard loss. We should have been aiming to WIN this game not tie it. By the way Hills has no arm strength once so ever. He has a long delivery as it looks like he has trouble palming the ball with one hand. Every pass has air under it. He cannot seem to make throws on a line or put some RPMs on the ball. Does not look like a division one QB. On the positive side Stefon Diggs is the real deal. The guy is an elite talent as billed. Every time he has the ball he's a threat for a big play. In any other offensive system I'm sure he'd be putting up huge numbers right now. Heck I cannot help but wonder what it would look like with O'Brien throwing Diggs the ball in Franklin's offense :P The offensive line looked good too. It is not their fault Hills cannot get rid of the ball. He holds on to the ball way too long.
  9. I'm so glad we won this. If we lost this game would forever be known as the "bases loaded no outs" game.
  10. Orioles Magic, no other words to describe it.
  11. Ugh I fell asleep during the game. I woke up in the middle of the night and had five unanswered text messages about the Machado play and had no idea what they were talking about. Then I watched it: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2012_09_12_tbamlb_balmlb_1&mode=video That is a play not even a 15-year vetern 3B makes. Incredible baseball IQ. I like how he even faked out the announcer!
  12. Is this the night the O's finally take sole possession of first place?
  13. If Flacco wins a Super Bowl this year he will be able to name the moon as his asking price. Get him signed!
  14. Thanks Dee! I got it from the O's facebook page.
  15. Great post Max, I loved the new look line! With this no-huddle he need guys in shape who can play quick off the ball. The big guys looked great last night! I definitely think Oher likes the no huddle, he played a solid game last night. BTW, it is almost unfair on the trap plays where we pull Yanda and then Leach comes screaming through the hole behind him! I would not want to be a linebacker have to take that freight train on!
  16. The defense, even in the second quarter, looked a lot better than I thought. Yes, the Bengals were converting some short down conversions, but we held them to two fourth downs on that drive. The Bengals were desparate on that last drive of the half. The problem in the preseason against the run was teams were getting to the outside. Kruger, Upshaw, and McClellan did a great job of setting the corner. The pass defense was great, Ray Lewis looked spectacular, and our guys were flying all over the field. How many tackles did Lardarius Webb make either chasing down a play from the backside or stepping up and making a tackle? Bonecrusher was all over the place. And even Ed Reed looked a lot stronger in tackling than he has in the past. Maybe a full healthy offseason is what he needed. And of course... NGATA!!!! I think we are better than average, but I do agree, there will be some growing pains. However, if the offense stays aggressive, we will feast on teams once we have a lead. The 2010 Saints, the 2004 Eagles, both teams with a lot of talent on defense that forced turnovers and had a break but don't bend style. It is ok for teams to drive, we just need to hold them to field goals or force turnovers. I think our defense will be able to do that.
  17. I also thought Pittsburgh's running game was very weak. Ben was pretty much in the shotgun the whole night. When they did run the ball it was out of the same under center, 11 bunch receiver personnel everytime. Very predictable. Todd Haley is a smart guy, he will make adjustments.
  18. Maybe McKinney simply isn't in the shape we want him to be in for us to run the no huddle. Sure, he might hold up on paper better against the Bengals pass rush, but we all know when the big guy gets tired he gets very SLOPPY!
  19. What an amazing performance by Manning! The guy's arm strength is definitely sapped but he is such a wizard at the line of scrimage he didn't even need to stretch the field. Manning put on an offensive clinic in the no huddle offense calling his own balance of run and pass plays. He completely dissected Pittsburgh's defense on every play and neutralized Polamalu. Troy was getting extremely frustrated because Manning identified him on every play and made him a nonfactor. Manning is really something else.
  20. That's just called being Canadian, he can't help it. LOL jk I completely agree with your post, Girardi is a complete douche of a manager. Tough loss yesterday but splitting a four game series with the Yanks is not the worst thing in the world. We are still in the thick of both the wild card and division race. The Yanks still have a series against the Rays so if we take care of business this week against the Rays we may be able to make up some ground. The Markakis injury kills however.
  21. Awesome win. Love seeing the umps take one from the Yanks especially with Tex being the one getting screwed. But we lost Markakis for the year. Buck better have Britton throw one at Jeter tomorrow to send a message. Girardi was up in arms when Guthrie accidentally hit Tex in a spring training game a couple of years ago. Buck has to let him know it unacceptable for their fatass pitcher to clunk our guys!
  22. They were talking about this on the Fan this morning. Apparantly Delegate Burns is also a Baptist minister. In other Baltimore County news... we are finally getting a Wiegmans here in Owings Mills!!!! :yeah:
  23. I don't think that is what Romney is implying, but we are getting too blue and red here. I do not want to get into that type of discussion.
  24. Oh man what a game yesterday!!! Maybe the best O's win in the past 15 years! This win has the potential to be an enormous momentum swing. If we lost after blowing a five run lead in front of a sold out stadium on Cal Ripken night, I am not sure if we recover from that. On the flip side, we rallied and really gave the crowd something to cheer about. I wasn't there, but on TV that crowd looked electric. For once the Yankees started a rookie pitcher who was starry-eyed and couldn't handle the pressure! Win tonight and we have SOLE POSESSION of first place!
  25. Am I missing the joke?
