  1. If Ray leaves for money it better be for a substantial amount more than what we're offering. If he leaves for just a couple more mil, I'd be disappointed in him. He's the face of a franchise....there's got to be a price on that.
  2. I've always been a Stover supporter, however he looked very shakey this year. He pulled it together towards the end, but it's obvious he doesn't quite have what he used to have. If I were the front office I would make sure he wasn't hobbled last year however before making to quick a decision. However, it does seem like it's time to part ways. This really sucks, since a reliable kicker can be very hard to comeby. Especially one that was as clutch as Stover. How many game winners did that guy kick? I'm sure he's up there for most all time.
  3. I just think the really good teams in the NFL always seem to have really good offensive lines. I'd like to keep ours together. I think the Steelers last year were the exception to the rule. Ben ran for his life and made plays, is that what we want Flacco doing??? I'd rather he felt comfortable in the pocket.
  4. The fact remains, we have a solid team period. Finding another Cmac is unrealistic, period. We need to find solid depth and spend our money wisely. If we get another pickup like Washington, suddenly we look a whole lot better at corner. This is a solid team that just made the AFC Championship game and was the most injured team in the NFL if I recall correctly. (I could be wrong on that one) In any case, we whethered alot of injuries, some to "key" members. Gregg was definitely "key". McGahee was definitely "key". Heap was definitely "key". And finally Cmac was definitely "key". We didn't lose all of our "key" players, but let's not pretend we didn't lose any. The real arguement is whether or not we need to break the bank for another Cmac type shutdown corner. I'm not sure that's wise at this moment. We're going to have to spend alot of money on Flacco in a few years. Why don't we go the smart route and obtain that "said" player through the draft by trading down with a team that will likely have a high draft pick next year. With a franchise QB, our window for a SB should not be closing. For the first time in a long time we have a very solid team and a super bright outlook because of Flacco. It's time to be smart and continue planning for the future. Don't mortgage the future for someone now, doesn't make sense. Don't get me wrong if the right guy is available for the right price get him, but I don't see the need to break the bank or lose draft picks trading up. I say find another washington and we will do fine at CB. I'd rather find a super pass rushing defensive end to compliment Suggs. I think that would improve our coverage dramatically. I'd rather spend the money on someone like that.
  5. Thanks cleets.......I was about to begin my defense but you beat me to it lol! We need quality depth....not superstar contracts or trading up in the draft to pay super star contracts. We have enough of those. Never mind that in a few years we will have to pay Flacco like a fanchise QB......haven't had to do that in a long long time. That's alot of money.
  6. Trading down would enable us to grab several corners or make a trade ala Fabian Washington last year. I'd really rather not pin hops on just one guy. Pay Brown, pay Suggs, then see where the rest fall into place as far as the market is concerned. We need to be smart and acquire future first, second, and third round picks now while this team is very good. It will cost us a ton to trade up, now is the time to be trading down and acquiring future draft picks. Wouldn't it be nice when this team makes or finishes a Super Bowl run and we get two first round picks ala the patriots of a year or two ago? This defense is still pretty good, and we can now begin to expect more out of the offense. Trading up will certainly cost us a future first round pick and probably a 2nd or 3rd this year. It sure would be nice to make a trade with say.......the lions and allow them to get an additional 1st this year for their second, (which I would assume, I don't know, is only a few slots later), and their first next year. Then make a solid playoff run and end up with a top ten pick next year, most likely even a top five pick. That would complete this team nicely and cost us alot less. This team is good, we don't need to take desperate chances and trade up to acquire anyone. We will still be good.
  7. Why trade up when this team is already solid. When a team is solid, trading down is the good move.
  8. Brown is a must sign period. We sign him and the tackles for big money if need be. The guards can be interchangeable. With Flacco at the helm, this is a new era for Ravens football and we WILL protect him. We do not want to make the mistake that both Cincci and Pitt made by havin their offensive lineman walk. Pitt is very very very very very very very lucky that Ben did not suffer a Major injury this year that prevented him from playing. We NEED to protect Flacco. This game is won in the trenches, sign Brown, he's a Pro Bowl talent Center.
  9. I don't see the point of breaking the bank on anyone in FA. Oz made a brilliant move last year trading a third rounder for Washington. I would prefer another move like that this year. Maybe try trading down this year from our first round position since we have a solid team already. This would give us extra 2nd and 3rd round picks to use as trade bait for anothe similar deal. I'm just not big on spending big bucks to acquire another teams cast away. Once in awhile it works, I just don't see anyone this year that is worth spending the money on.
  10. So......to review........as a result of Ray Lewis' poor financial condition the polor ice caps will melt and kill all the polar bears. Someone better sign him quick! lol
  11. JASON BROWN HAD BETTER NOT BE GONE! That is bullshit. We've had problems for years with teams just busting up the gut on us and steamrolling whoever is playing center. We finally have a center that can hold down the fort and we're going to let him walk! You gotta be kidding me.
  12. So.....if I'm correct in my analysis of this thread....because Ray is broke, the ice caps are melting. I don't know how I didn't see that before! ;)

  14. Just to clear some things up. Roberto has HIV, and that's what his former girlfriend would be tested for. AIDS is the late stages of the virus if/when it ever progresses that far. Roberto does not have AIDS, he has HIV, otherwise he would be spending most of his time in hospitals and would not look in good health at all. I don't care what the news reports, many people are sadly still very uneducated about this virus. AIDS is what can/may happen to an individual, however it's not necessarily going to happen. Having the virus does not mean all sexual contact must be avoided. A condom is completely effective preventative when used properly and there are more couples (married and unmarried) than anyone realizes living together with just one partner being infected.
  15. I don't understand the coach coming out and saying he feels the owner will pay big bucks for a certain player. That seems to erode all bargaining position from Biscotti's end doesn't it? This seems against Harbaugh's MO. I wonder what's up?
  16. You know a friend of mine had an idea that I thought was genius. In order to increase the "meaning" of the Pro Bowl game, why play it after the Super Bowl? It's a very big let down to go from the Super Bowl to the Pro Bowl. Instead, play the Pro Bowl the first week of preseason and have one less preseason game. That would make the preseason a little more entertaining to watch. It's extremely rare that players get injured in that game as they usually take it easy on each other. It makes sense to me cuz most people are just itchin to see football come the preseason.
  17. I hope he sticks with a similar philosophy as Rex, and he can actually execute said philosophy. I'm having flashbacks to the bend but don't break Mike Nolan era, couldn't stand that defense, just not "Ravens" football. Although, a defense that I wouldn't mind seeing installed if organized chaos cannot function with Rex is the cover two. It's been very successful and I feel we have the personel to make it work.
  18. We finally have an offensive line that can block very very well...........pay them. Seattle would probably still be a contender if they would have paid their offensive lineman instead of letting them walk after their SB loss. I believe two of their starting unit walked and they had what was thought at the time, the best offensive line in football.
  19. And no vet in their right mind would have come to the Ravens last year thinking we were going to make a title run. Granted, it's never guaranteed, but I imagine Ray would make an educated decision.
  20. Cmon...................there's no freakin way Ray would walk into that mess. No offense JT and the others that I respect on this board......but veterans usually seek to go to teams that will definitely be contenders. And while the Bengals do have talent......there's no way one could say they're definitely contenders.
  21. Wow papa Max.......can't ya let the kids have some fun! lol
  22. Bad attitude!...........Didn't this guy have freakin face off surgury to get back on the field as soon as possible??? Or was that Fitz??? If I'm wrong........my bad lol!
  23. To be fair, every year Gruden had to deal with ridiculous injuries on his offense. Major starters were always going on the IR, so Gruden did what good coaches do and made things work.
  24. Peppers would be a huge addition to this team, he would allow us to get consistent pressure without the blitz. That would enable us to drop an extra man or two into coverage.
  25. That seems ridiculous considering Flacco maybe just had one of the most impressive rookie seasons ever. Whew........tough crowd. What Flacco deserves is admiration for handling his rookie season like a vet.
