  1.

    10-6 is not bad.

How about just enjoying the game and having a team?

For me, it's enough that year in and year out, game after game, the Ravens field a team that always has a shot to win.

The fan in me says that's all I ask for. Then, once in a while, a year like 2000 and 2012 comes along....and you shit your pants. :gorave:

    I hate enjoying things though.

  2. No argument that Ozzie is one of if not the best. Only taking umbrage to the idea that that alone means we'll be great and SB-bound.

I just hate the broad stroke boiling down of the situation year in and year out. Yes, they were creaming the Pats in the divisional round (before they eventually lost). Yes, they were there in the first place. But it happened at the tail end of a barely 10-6 season that saw even more roster churn and burn than the season previous, and it's really likely that--looking at the number of reasonably assumed holes--this year will be even more of a mix up than the last two.

What I'm saying is that I'm a jerk and hate Kool-Aid. But it is really cool when it's being enjoyed by the national media.

  3. And? It's okay to make mistakes!

I really want to drink the purple punch when reading articles like this, but it's easy to remember that they are definitely painting a picture and not actually being realistic. The front office is one of the best at draft analyzation and execution no doubt, but I dunno whether it's safe to assume that the team will always "be okay" with that kind of reliance.

  4. Focus Skippy, What is it now? A team win or a Flacco win? C'mon you can't win this and this ain't rocket science........ at least for most people that is.

Hey, Skippy, here's the question no one else has thought to ask you. When it's a loss, is it a Flacco loss or a team loss?

We all know your answer to that question, and that's why you're the real Skippy.

As far as Papa, we can all jump up and down over and over again about how much of a dick he can be (God love him), but his opinion about Flacco isn't off-base nearly to the extent that the troll's is.

  5. I was probably late to the party on watching ESPN and the like, so I never quite "got" the love for him - just didn't always connect. But seeing the way people talk about his impact has changed that.

Regardless of his work, a good guy and an awful story.

Eisen and Storm's tribes today were moving.

    RIP

Agreed completely. For all those yearning for the heyday of Scott, I feel as though most are disregarding that the Patrick/Olbermann/Kilborn group is what really brought SC to the forefront.

  6. Get ready for 18 months of drama. I suppose the Raiders might start getting serious about San Antonio if LA skips out on them, too.

It was believed at one point during the 2014 regular season that the NFL would move the opening of the window for relocation applications from January 1 to February 2 in order to prevent talk of a move to Los Angeles from undermining the focus on the postseason. That became irrelevant once it became clear no one would be moving to L.A. in 2015.

And now, of course, the focus on the postseason has been undermined by talk of a move to Los Angeles.

News of Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s plan to build a new stadium on all that land he has been buying wasn’t leaked. It was announced.

  7. Am I the only person who noticed that the Steelers lost a play, or am I an idiot? After the illegal shift and the accepted penalty, they should have been on second down again. Next play and Miller was short, and then they kick the field goal on what should have been third down?

    So confused.

  8. With the third place finish in the standings, we know who they play in 2015, now.

AFC West (Raiders, Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs)

NFC West (Seahawks, Cardinals, 49ers, Rams)

AFC North (Browns twice, Steelers twice, Bengals twice)

    Dolphins

    Jaguars

Not the worst schedule you could ask for, looking at it today.
