  1. That wouldn't interest Miami whatsoever. They have a ton of solid (not #1) receivers. Ginn is the only one who sticks out, both because of his notoriety and his speed; Miami's receivers are possession types, by and large.
  2. NJ will kick Philly in the mouth. That won't even be a competition. And I think the Sabres will handle Boston somewhat easily, too.
  3. I'm sorry, Cleet, but the Meachem comparison doesn't fit. Meachem is incredibly fast, and Thomas is slow, bulky, and doesn't run well. There's not much upside to him. He's hardly worth our second rounder, let alone the first. I've seen him compared to Michael Clayton, and I think that's the best of them. He's a terrible route runner, he lacks field presence and catching ability, but he's great in a run-first offense. I don't think that's nearly worth a first round draft pick. I agree in full that, were one available, a top receiver looking to be groomed and fit into our system would be a fantastic pick, but there is not one in this draft.
  4. Morning marijuana and midnight rape.
  5. Crav's sources are horrendous. Schedules will be out late this week/early next week.
  6. So is Thomas, in my opinion. Ever think that the reason he ran those routes was because they were all he could run well? I'd love Odrick or Graham. I don't want a receiver early unless it's Bryant, and I don't particularly want him, either.
  7. They really don't have to. Especially if Wallace becomes as good as it looks like he might. Tomorrow (today, actually) is the big day. Let's just hope the D.A. hates the Steelers. Or something.
  8. It's a done deal. WOW! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/11/steelers-ship-santonio-to-the-jets/
  9. Because he said that he'd been working on the changeup all spring; he wasn't concerned with the velocity and thought it would be there for the season.
  10. And after two strikeouts, no less. Gonzalez is weird.
  11. Spear and I are in agreement as to the argument. Drafting Boller had nothing to do with the media or the perception that we needed to draft a quarterback. Boller was drafted because the team (or someone within the team, or whatever) wanted him.
  12. That's my point. We were not "pushed" into him. We wanted him.
  13. ...not really. That's your perception, and I don't personally think it's close to being true. What you call being "pushed into" the number one pick is really either a set of teams pushing Bradford because they want them to take him (thus, the player they covet falls a spot), or, you know, the Rams themselves just actually really like him. Now, explain how we were "pushed" into taking Boller?
  14. Manfra and Angel have been really fun to listen to, actually. Especially so.
  15. He'll be replaced in about two weeks.
  16. Roger Goodell. Write a letter.
  17. 24 runners left on base.
  18. Redskins will be a .500 team or better next year. Their offensive line got worse during the season, when injuries came about. Even excluding Portis, they have Johnson and Fast Willie, and will be just fine. They have two very good tight ends. Even Thomas and Kelly should get better on the outside. Having the QB means a lot. Just watch.
  19. I highly doubt it. Jacksonville, Carolina, and Chicago are probably the most likely destinations for Bulger.
  20. My problem with trading Gaither is the value. Sure, he might never be better than he is (assumed, but not necessarily true). Sure, he may continue to be soft and injured for the rest of his career. But how can you envision that we'll get a player nearly to his abilities with a first round pick? Let alone a second rounder? No one should be considering him a fifth round conditional pick anymore. That was his value when we acquired him. That is not his value anymore. I don't think we have his value correctly established.
  21. Cody = Ted Washington
  22. The kickoff argument isn't a great example in making the case for Graham. He's in Stover territory, while Rackers is one of the best in the league at kickoff averages and touchbacks.

  24. I think we might already have one. haha
  25. Why? He's the oldest. He has the worst field goal percentage. He'd never been on a playoff team in his career until 2008. Cundiff probably isn't the long-term option. Rackers, though, just scares me. All else equal, it has to go to Graham, no? --- Apparently, Ozzie and Harbaugh have met with Graham. http://www.examiner.com/x-2962-Baltimore-Ravens-Examiner~y2010m3d29-Ravens-have-not-contacted-Stover-set-sights-on-Graham
