On what basis? Do you have any evidence whatsoever that a coach's bad attitude and immaturity has ever gotten him an endorsement deal? It's childish, much like Rex is himself. He's a good defensive coach (the Jets should thank their stars that they kept Schottenheimer last season), but he should never be the man with the microphone. Or, in this case, the man in front of the camera. I was more hesitant than anyone to say this, but he's a carbon copy of his father, and it's not a good thing. Unless he is willing to change (which he might be more willing to do than dad), he won't be a head coach for long.
  4. Like I said, the Chargers tendered him second round cash last year, so if we want him as badly as they do, it'll cost at least that.
  5. He's a restricted free agent, and the Chargers will be tendering him. They tendered him a second round pick last year, and after his good season, what if they tender him a first rounder? What about even the second rounder? Floyd had five starts at receiver previous to last season. My question was the evidence as to why everyone thinks he'll "blow up big" in the first place. And, again, the guy's 29.
  6. And he's played in an offense with more stars than maybe any other. And he's started games since 2004, but never more than nine in a season. And he's 29. And he'll cost at least a first round pick. And, if not for a 9 catch, 140 yard performance in his last game, against the woeful Redskins, would have had 36 catches for a career season high--just another nine from his previous high of 27. Brandon Marshall caught 20 passes in one single game. And his market value looks like a much better buy than Floyd's. Someone please tell me why he's so coveted here, again? Are we that desperate for warm bodies to catch the ball?
  7. Where? Clayton has more production than him.
  8. I genuinely hope that we don't get Floyd. I'd rather have Williams, and he'll come at a fraction of the cost. What does anyone see in Floyd?
  9. You can't fix everything.
  10. I don't argue any of that. I'm simply saying that that's the only pick I look at and wonder what would have been. I don't think anyone would argue that Williams looked like a better prospect out of college than Marshall, and we even thought we had an incredible gem. Oh well.
  11. The only one of those that really disappoints me is Williams vs. Marshall. The rest are whatever.

  13. We said the same thing about having a deep WR draft last year, and ended up whiffing. Unless it's Gresham or Graham, I don't see how they could possibly not take a receiver.
  14. Isn't he your son?

    Rex Busted

Rex is all over the place. It hasn't been a good week for him.
  16. ...we're hoping. But we've been hoping for two years now. At the very least, maybe Gresham.
  17. How many beers today, Crav?
  18. The Vikings use a few variations of it. Green Bay to an even lesser extent. For the record, I hope you didn't think that I was endorsing using it. I was just mentioning that Cam and Zorn have opposite styles, which would be interesting to be seen worked out.
  19. I don't think they ever did run a traditional West Coast offense. I know the 49ers played with it this year. You can say that Seattle was close to it before last season. And, of course, the Redskins. The last two directly related to Zorn.
  20. Zorn is a West Coast guy, though, so I'm interested in seeing how he'll fit in.
  21. According to Jamison Hensley, on Twitter:
  22. And the Patriots were blasted for taking only a second for Cassel. I understand that, in terms of trade value, Smith is more along the lines of Schaub than Cassel, but a second rounder has to be closer to his value than a 3rd or 4th. Especially considering how much the Ravens want to keep him.
  23. Sure I can. What kind of qualification is that? The Saints were thoroughly outplayed, but the Vikings gave the ball away nearly half a dozen times. I think it's more than fair to say that both teams played well enough to lose.
  24. Holmgren supposedly doesn't like either of his QBs, so I definitely wouldn't say that the Browns are loaded at that position. And wouldn't Troy have to be worth a first round pick? At least a high second? He'd be a starter at his new destination.
  25. I never said that the Vikings deserved to win. I said that the Saints really didn't. And I know you're talking about the Saints all year, Cleet. I'm just talking about against the Vikings, and comparing that to what they'll face in a week.
