  1. So what. Look at all their losing seaons and our winning ones. . We're one of the top teams in the NFL and they're one of the worse.
  2. KO didn't do so hot himself. He got injured and Jensen or Urschel filled in for him. The Ravens made an aggressive offer to be the highest paid player on the offensive line and at LT where he wanted to play. He had thanked Oz for encouraging him to move over and that he could do it and that Oz told him he was doing everything he could to keep him here and he did but there were those structures in the contract because they quite didn't trust him because of his injuries. That's the part he was pissed off at. So he goes to a fool's organization known for losing for many years since Big Al got old and sick and forgot how to run a team and says those things. Forsett gained 1100 yards his first year here and football outsiders ranked the o-line as #2 for pass blocking and the right side of the line #1 for run blocking with Yanda and Wagner.
  3. Here's a new rumor that Ravens might be interested in Mike Wallace at the right price. Right price are the key words. He got a $60M pay day after completing his rookie contract with Pissburgh but didn't live up to expectations. He knows it and will have to reduce to somone to stay in pro ball. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-310-Ravens-Interested-In-WR-Mike-Wallace-If-Price-Is-Right/7d031023-fad5-45b6-9f1c-fe2c1519c722
  4. They don't like Tunsil or Bosa if they're desperate to trade down. Maybe they can be had in a deal for Tunsil whom many consider the best player in college.
  5. Yea, seems that way. I thought the wanted to be the LT here. Ravens don't appreciate the o-line, he would have been the highest paid player on this offense. They were trying to improve the o-line by keeping him here. It was said to be an aggressive offer. That's appreciation, man. Wait til he starts losing like his buddy Torrey Smith.
  6. Actually, Watson should do better simply because TRestman doesn't like to use TEs for blockers. That's because the LBs are usually bigger and faster than the TE. So Trest also figures that leaves one less defender and an extra open spot for his TE to hit. He makes up for the loss of a blocker to have the Center call out a shift for the line to move down in his zone blocking scheme. You know, this is exactly what Dickson said on radio. He said people criticize my blocking but they have no idea that I'm going vs LBs 50-75 lbs heavier than me and faster. A lot of fans don't know that. And with WAtson, he'll have a good one despite his age, what stadium he plays in and especially with Joe throwing to him. See link for more details with Trestman and his TEs http://www.chicitysports.com/forum/showthread.php/34136-How-Trestman-and-Kromer-Uses-TEs
  7. Great posts by VA and Thundercleetz. Good point about the system but he should be able to give the numbers posted above under Trestman who loves to pass a lot and to TEs. As mentioned, the Ravens 3 TEs almost produced the same numbers so they should be able to spread it around when Gilmore comes back and with Maxx bulking it up.
  8. Still not bad numbers for a 35 yr old wherever he played but he doesn't even have to duplicate that number, just contribute and marginally. See like for how. With two capable tight ends already on the roster in Gillmore and Williams, Watson simply needs to contribute marginally, and quite frankly a stat line in the 40 reception, 500-yard and multiple touchdown range would be considered a win for the Ravens. Based on his play last season, Watson is quite capable of achieving that feat during his first season in purple and black. http://www.russellstreetreport.com/2016/03/09/tale-of-the-tape/ben-watson-solid-veteran-presence/
  9. Enough for 850 yards receiving this year, a little more than what all young Ravens TEs had together this year.
  10. Thanks. WEll the link was right that they wanted to trade up, just not to #6. You're right again about Oz trading up.
  11. Bunch of rumors going around NFL this time of year. The link below says the Eagles need a QB and could trade up to get one of the big 3 before they're off the board at #13 where they are. The best team to trade up with is Ravens at #6 and they'd get their man. It would only cost them a 3rd round pick and they have two of them so it's a smart move. When asked, Ozzie said they can always call me. I love Flacco and Mallett. Oz has a history of trading down but only when he is drafting low and there's nobody on the board he likes. At #6 he needs a play maker and would lose out on a Ramsey, Buckner, Jack or LT Stanley which he is in desperate need of. I seriously doubt Oz would miss out on a play maker. DeCosta said he is really excited at who will be there. I don't even like the names I'm seeing from about #14 to #32. So my guess is they will have to cough up more if they want his spot in the draft. The other rumor I heard from a friend who just phoned me is Ozzie is trying to trade up for Tunsil regarded as the best LT and player in the country. Don't know the source. My friend is looking and I am too. I don't see where Ozzie has the juice to trade up to #1 where Tunsil could go. http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2016/02/nfl_draft_rumors_eagles_trade_up_with_baltimore_ra.html
  12. Here's Kiper's comments saying he has a long frame and can pass block and is explosive in run blocking. Says work ethic off the field and does't play hard every down are main draw backs but he took over for Zack Martin and played well enough to protect ND's QB to be a top 20 player on all boards http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/25229/mel-kiper-ravens-draft-notre-dames-ronnie-stanley-in-first-2016-mock
  13. A scout here questions his work ethics and at the combines Stanley said some people think Im lackadasal. Another scout said he has good blocking techniques in pass blocking. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=CFB&id=133330&line=53212&spln=1
  14. Here's a report from Walter Football calling him a top 20 pick. He took over Zack Martin's spot after the Cowboys drafted him. Stanley has quick feet and good arm strength. He also played in a zbs which the Ravens still run. Remember all the guys like Gino who couldn't learn it. Stanley will fit right into ours. He needs to add strength but he's even better at run blocking and fires into the d-line and often to the second level knocking guys down. http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2015rstanley.php
  15. McShay's 2.0 mock also has Ravens drafting Stanley and he says what I've been posting here. We can plug him in and forget the left side. McShay said he greatly improved going back for his Sr year and has long frame and reach. 6.) Baltimore Ravens (5-11) Ronnie Stanley, T, Notre Dame Fighting Irish When picking this high -- and the Ravens rarely do -- you'd ideally like to draft a priority position (QB, OT, pass-rusher, CB or WR, with the order depending on team needs). Stanley benefitted greatly from returning to school for his senior season, during which he showed improved strength and technique. He is a fine athlete for his long frame and would give the Ravens a long-term solution at left tackle.
  16. So that brings us back to Stanley whom Kiper has us taking in his 2.0 mock if KO leaves which he did. I've seen both Tunsil and Stanley going in top 3 and nfl.com's mock has Tunsil as the first player drafted. He's the best player in the country.
  17. Also, they bring guys in here they want to interview again although they bring in a lot they know they won't have a shot at but they want them and interview them in case they fall like a Ray Lewis. Everyone wanted Zack Martin two years ago but Ravens never brought him in. That was a clue they didn't want him and took Mosley.
  18. So to recap the comp picks. Ozzie coughs one up for signing Ben Watson but gains one for losing KO. Score - even.
  19. Gotta hand it to KO-LOL. He said he wanted to be the highest paid LG in the league and by golly he is, I think. So much for wanting to stay here and so much for Ozzie saying he was trying all he could to keep him. Like I said above, Oz didn't go all out to keep him because of the structures of his contract offer and he questioned his passion for the game. Ozzie was going to make him the highest paid lineman on the Ravens, not the highest paid OG in the league.
  20. LOL - OAK had $70M in CAP room and will still be losers. KO was the 3rd best FA in the pool according to NFL.COM. Seems like the ravens don't trust ko to play at 100% effort after being paid. Jason Cole says we have a year to year contract structure proposed as our offer Backing up the rumors they feel he doesn't have high passion for football. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000642210/article/raiders-kelechi-osemele-agree-in-principle-on-deal
  21. Looks like KO is gone according to talk on the other boards. I found this which is what I've been saying here. He's been injured and has never played an entire year at LT and now Ravens even question his passion to the game. So now maybe they can pay Okung with KOs money????? Seems like the ravens don't trust ko to play at 100% effort after being paid. Jason Cole says we have a year to year contract structure proposed as our offer Backing up the rumors they feel he doesn't have high passion for football.
  22. Of course Ben Watson had a total of 825 yards by himself, so he'll be worth whatever pick Ozzie has to cough up - probably a 4th or 5th but just guessing. Like I said, only Maxx was a sure thing at TE til now. http://www.russellstreetreport.com/
  23. And you were obviously the only one here listening to Ray Rice's story even changing the thread's title saying Rice is a good man when the entire country including his own team hated him for abusing women. Now that's embarrassing to the board to let a trol smack your QB every day.
  24. Ozzie loves to gain draft picks not give them and often has more comp picks than anyone and will still have enough. Gilmore was the vet this season and they got 833 yards from the TE position and some good blocking from Boyle but they were down to just Maxx for sure before this signing.
