  1. They haven't beaten a good team yet, just all the bad ones. Well, the beat Piss when they were down early but they're doing pretty good now. Guys on the radio were talking about this and said they were mediocre. Now we all know what Bisciotti said last year. He will not allow mediocracy but HARBs has the second most wins in the pro game and a recent SB ring. Would Biscut fire him for not getting in the playoffs again? I keep hearing and seeing rumors that Ozzie might be retiring. The last two drafts haven't been that deep. Elam isn't doing so hot as #1 pick last year and nobody knows where our #2 pick is - Brown. KJ makes a play or two. Brandon Williams is starting and taking up 2 or 3 blockers but they didn't know what to do with John Simon so they put him on practice squad where he was claimed by someone and he has 2 sacks already. CJ Mosley has been great as this years #1 but Jernigan has been rolling over anyone nor has Brooks. The game went south in a hurry with Taliferro's fumble in Pissburgh. The o-line which seemed to be improved from last year took a giant step backwards. Ravens had two tough losses on the road but should win vs a bad TEnn game. After the buy they have games with Saints, SD and Miami. They could lose all three. So are they mediocre. Biscuit said he won't allow it. He wants to go to the POs every year and made it 5 years in a row til last year. He might not make it again in this league of parity.
  2. I'm with craven - lucky boy but I hate to see a certain someone's rant when he comes in here. I mean this is the Ravens family again. First Rice now this former cheer leader chick. Bisciotti must go. He f*cked up again. It's a cover up at the highest level for this to even happen. BTW, we had sexual awareness training at work every year and were warned about the dangers of it and told not to do it but I had this good looking supervisor who was rubbing my ass as I called my work up on the PC. I was really having trouble calling it and and she said, do you know what you're doing. I mean, she's rubbing my ass so how was I supposed to concentrate on work but she bit off more than she could chew. I leaned forward and got half way up and rubbed my ass over her gorgeous thighs and she ran out of the office. She never said a word.
  3. It's not Billick and Boller again, not even close. Boller set the franchise back 5 years in Billick's own words. Joe already won the SB and MVP plus just about more PO games than any QB or close to it. Boller had no where near that. Billick won his SB ring early and then faded. HARBs finally got his. HARBs is second for most wins amongst coaches.
  4. Yea, Gilmore who had two nice catches still isn't ready yet. WE need Daniels bad, especially in Pissburgh.
  5. Not recently. He dropped the ball on the goal line. Joe laid it right in there for him. Even SR dropped a big TD a couple of games ago. Man, last year everyone was raving about Marlon and this year they're dissing him. He hasn't had that many chances yet.Give him time.
  6. All the more reason to use his big frame as a decoy and it's working. Look how much SR get open? As far as fear, lay back on Marlon for a second and watc him burn you. Joe is going to guys he's comfortable with in this system and is just recently going to Torrey.
  7. Joe went to him a lot last year as the 3rd WR. Kubes came in and uses Marlon's big body to lure the safety away from SRs route. If they wanted to get Brown the ball, he would have been moved outside. He lines up in the slot 70% of the time. Again, SR lines up on the outside 87% of the time and he is the go to guy. Joe didn't even go to Torrey til recently. In the pic in the link both Marlon and Aiken are lined up on the outside.
  8. What was the thread, With detailed diagrams and analysis complete with pics showing the receivers and their routes, not just fans opinions? I was just trying to contribute something and someone called me out on the source but the info is correct even if you don't like it.
  9. Im sorry, SR lined up as outside receiver 87% of the snaps. He's still the go to guy for most of those snaps. They just started using Torrey who has 3 TDs in last two games. Marlon is being used as a decoy most of the time luring the safety away with his size. How do you think SR is getting open so much? It's all discussed in detail here but don't tell Craven. RSR is a dirty word to him. http://russellstreetreport.com/forum/showthread.php?122221-BSL-All-22-look-at-all-6-Ravens-WRs-the-role-they-play-in-offense-routes-typically-ran-and-more
  10. Yanda and Canty are questionable. No mention of Forsett. Looks like he'll play. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/31/week-nine-injury-report-roundup-3/
  11. Like I said Elam was projected to go higher and dropped, now we know why. Rob Long never liked him. He was upset on draft night and dissed him on Sunday saying he never could cover, not in college and not now. Kiper's link said he was good coming up in the box and hitting the guy before he got out and that's HARBs kind of guy. That's what Jimmy and Webbie do so well but they can cover. So far Elam hasn't but give it time. He cost us the Packers game last year when WEbbie guessed wrong thinking he had back up and Elam ran to the wrong side of the field. GB scores go ahead TD late in game. There were at least two other games lost because of Elam. That's the trouble of starting rookies, especially in key positions. Old school coaches would never do that. Rookies are gonna cost you and Elam did but he came on strong the last 3 games, but this year he reverted back to the beginning of last year. Like I said, Arthur Brown seems to have trouble learning the system. That's why he can't even be active. It's something mental. He was projected as round 1 pick but dropped. Oz traded up in front of Dallas and Houston who wanted him bad. Dallas would have drafted him if Ozzie didn't. You just gotta give these rookies some extra time while the unexpected guys in the later rounds shined and unexptectedly. Look what undrafted FA Marlon Brown did last year. He hasn't been targeted as much this year because Kubes is using his size and speed as a dcoy to lure the safety out of the route of Smith Sr who has been targeted 87% of the Ravens offensive plays. The safety can't take the chance of letting Marlon roam. There's rumors of one team, don't know who, that is really interest in Arthur Brown and tried to trade for him but Ozzie said no. If he can ever get his head straight and learn the system watch out.
  12. Kiper calls it a good draft and said Arthur Brown was a steal @ 56. He was a player the Ravens really wanted. Ravens needed starters and got them in Elam and Brown. He was sure wrong about Brown but got starters out of people he didnt think, not this quick. He said Brandon Williams would be a good backup to Mt Cody who has been injured the last two years. Williams is now the starter and taking up 2-3 blockers freeing up Mosley and others. He mentions KJ who was the best full back in that draft and now KJ is starting. He said Wagner was an interesting pick and a year before Kiper thought he'd go in second round but didn't play up to it. He was injured and Ravens drafted him while still injured. Now he's the starting RT and has played well. Someone wrote that Ravens have the best right side of the o-line in the NFL with Yanda and Wagner. So to recap, the starters we got are now Elam, Brandon, KJ and Wagner. I don't think Mel counted on last 3 being the starters this quick, only Elam and Brown who would make Ravens contenders. Man, was he fooled or what. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2013/story/_/id/9200335/2013-nfl-draft-mel-kiper-gives-grades-every-nfl-team-draft
  13. Here's an article right after the Elam draft that starts out saying you have to wait 3 years to judge a draft but here's their opinon on certain teams that nailed it. They say Ravens had a solid draft patiently waiting for Elam to fall then moving up to get Brown. They call it a solid draft. Elam was expected to go higher and so was Cyprien so we were surprised when both were there. Arthur Brown's problem seems to be learning the system. He was a good physical player in college, same as Chykie Brown but both have not been able to transfer their contributions to the pro game for whatever reason. But check out what it says about Jets and Geno. Also, the GM traded Revis for picks but drafted a guy who doesn't even fit into Rex's scheme which is 3-4. He never played it. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0ap1000000165023/article/2013-nfl-draft-winners-minnesota-vikings-detroit-lions-nail-it
  14. Ditto and great point. Jen tied a record vs Indy Sunday for most yards ever in a game with 522 yards. With Jimmy out and Webbie playing little, what do you think she'll do Sunday night. I cant bear to watch. See tablets thread how these QBs are lighting up the scoreboard with Luck, Rodgers and Foles getting over 400 yards each on Sunday.
  15. Well, like someone posted, Suggs is old. He was injured last year after a great start and now this year he has nagging injuries. Webb has also been hurt all year so HARBs kept him out of practice. He hasn't played a full game yet.
  16. How about pro bowl too? Two weeks ago PFF rated him playing better than any other linebacker in the game and it wasn't even close for the runner up.
  17. LOL - Franks lives with his grand mom? ILMAO I live alone on a fixed income and cooked my own dinner tonight - speghetti and sausage and it was damn good. About to go karaokee singing and I work out every day in the gym and swim every day.
  18. Forsett was back in practice today. Suggs is still out last 2 days.
  19. Cyprien was the other top choice at that spot and many of us wanted him. Ravens took Elam because of their Florida connections and one Ravens assist coached help recruit Elam for Florida. BTW, Cyprien hasn't done much better either. He's been injured a lot so he's been impeded by that. It's too early to judge either one. Give it 2 more years before judging.
  20. Webb, Yanda and Suggs didn't practice either Daniels and Canty practiced.
  21. I remember when Billick came here he was one of the first coaches to use lap tops. He used computers, instead of the old chalk board for diagraming plays. He had pass routes in bright colors and each player got a lap top and could been seen on the practice field with them. Gruden was one of the first coaches to put the entire offense on a computer disc when he was an assistant coach at SF. When Holmgren went to GB as head coach he took Gruden with him and said bring your discs with you.
  22. This is a cool article from Wall Street Journal describing how new technology, namey tablets, are killing the defenses. Players carry tablets around and can watch game film in the grocery store or in the bathroom. They pick up the simplest or most subtle keys like eye movement by linemen or if a safety lines up 2 yds inside the hash mark. Players have to know this stuff because if they give out the keys they will be picked up immediately. And it favors the offense on top of all the rule changes. On Sunday Big Jen scorched Indy with 522 yards for 4th highest total in history while Rodgers, Luck and Foles threw for over 400 yds each. Score one for the tablets. But then technology intervened. For about the last four seasons, players have had tablets to watch film on. This year, the effects are being felt for perhaps the first time. “Things that used to be subtle, like a safety lining two yards outside of a hash mark, is now a dead giveaway,” said former NFL lineman Shaun O’Hara, now an analyst at the NFL Network. http://online.wsj.com/articles/how-technology-is-killing-defense-in-the-nfl-1414523159?mod=WSJ_hp_EditorsPicks
  23. He didn't practice today according to yahoo.com Damn, that's all we need with all these injuries piling up.
  24. In one game this year JOe threw 60 times. Forget which one. Indy?
  25. Here's a history of the bump and run. Very interesting. The bump and run came into pro football prominence in 1967 when Oakland Raider defensive back Willie Brown introduced it to the AFL. He started covering receivers at the line of scrimmage and without fear of being beaten deep he bumped and detoured receivers to the part of the field he chose for them. During this time in pro football the only time a defender had to be completely void of contact was when the ball was in the air. Until that time, physical contact was fair play. http://talesfromtheamericanfootballleague.com/the-bump-and-run-boys-willie-brown-and-kent-mccloughan/
