  1. And this from the WBAL interview: Assuming Dick Cass isn’t his sources, he is admitting that he heard about this conversation through a second-hand source, meaning its total hearsay. Courts don’t allow this kind of testimony for a reason, but ESPN evidently thinks its good journalism. Bottom line this was very sloppy reporting.
  2. Here's Film Study's scouting report on Hurst thru the preseason. Will give you an idea: SF Hurst had extended play at LT beginning with the 2nd drive. He wasn’t perfect by any means, but I was impressed with his pass blocking, which is what you want from your LT in this league. He was less impressive as a run blocker, where he contributed a holding penalty that negated a first down (Q3, 9:42) and was shed by Morris on Wood’s run for no gain. Based on what we’ve seen to date, I think he would be the best option at LT should Monroe go down. Hurst (+1): He had a solid game as a pass blocker, but below average run blocking as noted above. Dal Hurst (+1): He had a nice cut block on the safety Heath to lead Pierce’s 30-yard run left (Q3, 14:25). He went for the cut again on the next play, but whiffed on Wilson, who took down LT for no gain. Fortunately, he did not allow any pressure events as a pass blocker, which is what will determine his NFL fate. Was Hurst (+2/+4): He played well both as a run and pass blocker. He displayed the quickness and recognition skills to stay with a single rusher in space. Hurst entered in the 3rd quarter with the 2nd unit and played all 25 of the remaining meaningful snaps. I reviewed each of his plays only and scored him as 23 of 25 blocks with no negative events. He missed a cut block on Gettis (Q4, 15:00) and got caught in stunt traffic (Q4, 12:50) on Tyrod’s TD pass to Thompson. His blocking highlight came on Forsett’s 13-yard run left (Q4, 4:21) when he pushed LB Jackson well into the backfield, turned right to assist Jensen, then peeled off looking for another block in level 2. Many memorable combination blocks involve pinning and turning to clear both sides of a hole. Hurst was hungry to get 3 blocks on this one. I don’t see any reason the Ravens would cut James after this game and Reid’s health isn’t a factor. NO (Full OL scoring done due to the interesting camp battles) Hurst (+1/+5): Scoring: 76 plays, 68 blocks, 5 missed, 1.5 pressures, 1 QH, 62 points (.82 points/play), B. Hurst had a much better game as a run blocker, but took a step back in pass protection, literally. The QH he surrendered to Edebali (Q4, 14:30) included too much ground surrendered before contact. I also scored him for parts of 2 pressures which were his first 3 pressure events since the first week and the QH was the first knock down allowed this preseason. As a run blocker, he misses some cut blocks, but often that is all he is afforded in terms of opportunity when the zone blocking is to the right. He’s had a fine preseason and will make the team as the backup LT.
  3. ILMAO @ THIS; _______________________ My God ESPN is f-ing this up. They have now removed the ombudsman piece from the site as well. You can see the link to it on the front page but it doesn't work anymore. Probably because it praises Simmons. _________________________. Another meltdown. After getting caught with 16 edits/errors they shut down. .
  4. Man, you're mind is so closed on the subject. He just went on WBAL today and said the Shipley mistake was an editor's mistake. That's a major admission of error right there and getting shot down. He owes Biscotti an apology for that alone. LOL. Yea, he's supposed to read the final copy and correct the editor and how would the editor know to put Shipley's name in there unless he was told. It's not like Shipley is a house hold name. I had no idea Denver picked him up. They must have been desperate but he got Joe killed last year. Another fact they've been unable to prove is Bisciotti playing golf in Atlanta with Goodell and meeting with him. Bisc denied it at the presser and he hasn't been corrected. Anyway, he even said on BAL that he could understand Ravens getting upset about the text messaging comments. This is bad journalism from the writer and the editor and why ESPN is ducking for cover but some minds can't see it for their prejudice vs Bisciotti. You also missed the reporter who couldn't even re-phrase his OWN question when asked. I saw that during the presser. Bisc said what are you asking me and the guy got flustered and took a long time answering. Everyone was laughing. Guys like Skip Bayless who always zaps the Ravens and his partner said Bisc did fine and will be OK but some minds here still don't get it. Geesh.
  5. I stopped going to games after going to every Ravens games for the first 15 years and spending thousands on road games because of bad lungs. I just can't walk around the stadium anymore or up from the tailgates but the large wide screen TV helps me not to miss it plus the money I'm saving. In the near future with guys paying their mortgages for PSLs, fans will begin to drop off and watch on the large screens at home. Many are doing it already.
  6. LOL - NO, I can't bring Kvv in here but here's the next best thing, his original piece with 16 edits/changes due to errors since the story came out but you will probably say it's only 16 errors. BOOM - YOU'VE JUST BEEN SHOT AND SO HAS KVV. Im proud of our owner and team even if you're not. http://deadspin.com/heres-every-edit-espn-has-made-to-its-otl-ray-rice-rave-1638729696
  7. There's a difference between mistakes and deliberate lies. They got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. ESPN is looking bad now, not Bisciotti. The rest of the country outside of Bmore isn't even paying attention about the Ravens anymore. Everyone is sick of the ESPN story.. Felt was deep throat. He provided the leaks to the Wash Post. He's the guy who brought down Nixon Flynt's case was based on the 1st Amendment and came 20 yrs after Watergate.
  8. 1. Larry Flint has nothing to do with this. The name I used but deleted was Larry O'Brien, DNC chair who was supposed to set up Nixon with a lie about taking $200,000 cash when he was on IKE's ticket. Nixon was supposed to be after dirt on him in their headquarters bldg according to Liddy. All they found in the safe were dirty pics of his assistant which Liddy mentioned on his radio show and was promptly sued by the guy but the judge dismissed the suit when Liddy showed him the evidence-lol. He still had the pics. 2. The plumbers were also supposed to be looking for dirt on Ellsburgh in the headquarters bldg. Why they thought they were there I don't know but Nixon was always obsessed with Ellsburgh. The cases are related. The judge threw Ellsburgh's case out when the same plumbers broke into his office while the trial was going on. Chuck Colson, Nixon's dirty tricks guy, when to prison for six months for pleading guilty and giving evidence in the Ellsburgh break-ins. He had nothing to do with Watergate. Ellsburgh and Watergate are related. Felt as mentioned above was also convicted for the Ellsburgh break-in but was pardoned by Reagan.
  9. Look again Smurf - this is as close as admitting they're wrong as they will get and they don't even cover their Shipley error. ESPN clearly has it's head up its ass at this point. We understand the confusion surrounding our use of italics and recognize we could have been more clear,” ESPN said Tuesday in a statement. “Most importantly, the information in our story about the contents of the texts was consistent with what the team released.”
  10. Why do those words bother you. He was the one being attacked by a phony reports. He gave a clinic on how to handle yellow journalists who lied about his activities. The reporter couldn't even explain his own question to him. So Biscut was just supposed to roll over and play dead? He was fighting for his ownership. He simply turned the tables around because the truth was on his side. That's why all the guys above said he did fine and will be ok sharp tongue and all.
  11. Because as posted above the media will keep it going for no other reason than hits for the web sites not to mention more yellow journalism. Mark Felts was Deep Throat. His family portrays him as a patriot and whistle blower but he leaked information for personal reasons. He had worked for Hoover for over 28 years and was heir to the directorship. Instead, Nixon gave the job to a former Admiral and intelligence officer Patrick Gray so Felts had a grudge to settle. Felts also hated the way Nixon used the FBI. Felts was convicted for organizing unauthorized break-ins at the homes of Vietnam protesters in the name of national security. As a consequence of these illegal break-ins, in 1980 he was convicted in a criminal trial and charged for having “conspired to violate citizens’ Fourth Amendment rights to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.” However, in a few months after the conviction Ronald Reagan pardoned Felt. When he was old with dementia. Woodward went to him to see if he could reveal his name as Deep Throat. He finally came out of the closet. Nixon said it was him all along. The plumbers actually broke into the Watergate Bldg 14 times. Hunt, a former CIA operative who headed up the plumbers didn't want to go back in. It wasn't lucky. They did it 13 times w/o a hitch, then they're caught on the 14th just as feared. They got caught as a result of a comedy of errors of too many hands in the pot starting with G. Gordon Liddy. But LBJ had Nixon's phone tapped and found he was talking to a gal with connections to the South Vietnamese gov't d who wanted peace talks with the North that LBJ was interested in but Nixon didn't want it til he became president and got the credit for ending the war. LBJ forwarded tapes of the conversations to Hubert Humphrey the DEM candidate vs Nixon. He didn't use them because he was ahead in the polls at the time but just barely but LBJ had his own tapes.
  12. I said Golic said he's tired of it and that's his way of saying the report was wrong. He didn't defend it like Greenberg. They're all tired of it. That was my report. You're right. Confrontation sells so it's not journalism.
  13. Agreed and like I said, he admitted his mistakes. and more shows are getting weary about all this knowing the report is phony. Wilbon, Kornheiser on PTI and Golic on M&M agree with Bayless and SAS and say they're tired of it. It's their way of saying KVV is wrong. Everyone but your Greenberg. LOL
  14. See Smurf's post. he just said he did a good job. More are coming around to my side. You think the Ravens are liars so you should go to another team. You didn't show squat about me being off. I'm showing all the shows after you said more will be coming that are still getting it wrong. You didn't answer my Greenberg post and you didn't answer my 'Dan Patrick remark where he's interviewing a guy showing snippets and getting them wrong. You couldn't answer my Ray Lewis remark. He was acquitted and did nothing wrong. Ravens stood by while the court played it out. They did the same with Rice. NFL didn't suspend him til afterward when he pleaded guilty and is going thru counseling. Now some more shows to prove you wrong. First Take skipped most of the rebuttal entirely and all of the 20-pt remarks. Even Skip Bayless said Bisiotti didn't hurt his creditiblity and is tired of talking about it. Thought I'd never agree with him. SAS agreed with Bayless on the show and said Bisciotti didn't break the law, while you said he lied. He said Bisciotti will be fine. Luckily we have a media? They're so crooked and biased as I have shown especially with KVV and ESPN and we can go to a political forum where I will show you the real media's crookedness. They get presidents elected. Dan Rather was fired for making up lies about W with a phony memo and CBS has suffered ever since the memo because they knew it was a lie. Man, don't get me started. ILMAO.
  15. Mike and Mike were brown nosing their bosses while the network itself did nothing, just left it to the viewers to decide. Bisciotti got the final word in on ESPN and this will bite them in the long run. As for Greenberg's stated belief that Bisciott did not address the underlying "truth" of the ESPN piece that the team tried to push for leniency and they misled everyone...... He spoke directly to the question of requesting leniency (several times)! So, ESPN is still getting it wrong while leaving it up to their attay boys to defend it while they continually get it wrong. As for other shows, on AM radio Dan Patrick is interviewing some DC reporter who takes snippets from the presser and gets them wrong and twisting them around and misquoting Bisicotti just like ESPN did. Expect more of the same. Twitter is ruining reporters honesty and integrity. Unfortuantely, you're right. It won't go away but you should just pick up another team to follow. It will make you feel better. Pissburgh would suit you with their rapists, assaultists, druggies and RBs getting suspended. In the latest gaffe, the media is now saying domestic violence is caused by all the concussions in the NFL with all these other guys getting busted like AP and Dwyer of the Cards and Hardy of Panthers. ILMAO
  16. Um, charges vs Ray were dropped because he didn't do anything and the co-defendants were acquitted by a jury of their peers, the citizens of Atlanta. That has nothing to do with Rice. There was visual evidence of what Rice did, attack a woman. Again Bisciotti said he made a mistake and regretted not ordering it and sending it to NFL. You obviously missed it - AGAIN!
  17. Meanwhile, KVV won't even take questions about Bisciotti's rebuttal and like I posted, he wasn't there.
  18. Yes, you are hearing what you want. The guys on the radio were calling for 6 games suspension the day the news broke. Biscuit said had the tape gone to the NFL the first day Rice would have been out 7 months. He admitted his mistakes. ESPN has not like the Shipley story. Like I said yesterday, ESPN was misquoting what Bisciotti said in the presser yesterday. Today on Sportscenter they're just leaving it for their viewers to decide. Looks like they're showing signs of being butt sore already.
  19. Great post Vmax and it is not only unprecedented for him but any other owner. Nobody has been down this road before for anything this bad. Not even Ray's case was as big as this. He had the presser because he had the truth on his side and had so much confidence in himself. This is a man who started a hi tech staffing company with just 1 other person, his cousin, and it now has 98,000 employees world wide. It's the second biggest company of it's kind in the world. The guy is shrewd and ruthless competitor. He said the trick to his business was staying late. He knew most of his competitors went home at 5 but he worked til midnight. That's because the hi tech people to hire were out in Selicone Valley, Calif and their time zone was 4 hours later. So he called the people he needed after 5. Then on Monday morning the competition called the same people but they were already hired by Bisciotti. He won the DoD contract to supply the Pentagon with all their computer techs and that put him over the hump and on the way to buying the Ravens. He is so sure of himself and killed the media, especially ESPN, in the ass. He even kicked the femme Nazis in the ass - NOW, who criticized him of not hiring females. He said if I can get Kevin fired, then maybe we'll hire a woman. Pure genius. Pure balls. We're so fortunate to have him as an owner. Can anyone picture Bob Irsay doing this conference slobbering all over the place in a drunken stupor like at his airport presser? Can anyone remember that one? ILMAO
  20. Bisciotti held a clinic today on how to handle the media there at the press conference. His ability to throw questions back at the media was priceless when he said, "what are you asking me" and the reporter couldn't answer right away and had to think about his own question. Cool, calm and collected, that's what you want for a person leading your team. Sometimes reputable mediums print corrections when they get something wrong. KVV and ESPN did not. The Shipley error was never corrected by KVV so it is big and another error to the story. All the errors are big when you're accusing someone of something. The slightest error or omission in a story gives you instant non-credibitity. JOURNALISM 101
  21. Sorry Smurf, but it was closer to $600M he paid for the team. Art owed a debt of about $250M and was paying $25M in interest pr yr which is what killed him and he made a late payment so the NFL got TAgs to talk to him about selling. Art was blown away by Bisciotti's deal of $600M with ARt getting half then which was enough to pay off the debt with $50M left over and profit the balance in about 3 or 4 yrs. Biscuit set it up that way so the family could ease out of it slowly while he could learn the business from Art who maitained an office near his after the sale. Art took care of his son Steve by getting him a $2M buyout if Bisciotti didn't keep him on as President. He didn't. When Steve left he was asked what he was going to do and he said thanks to my father and Mr. Bisciotti I don't have to do anything. I heard Art say on TV he got $600M. He paid about $4M for the team around $1963. Here's the link putting the franchise value at about $600M. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/1999/12/20/Franchises/FAREWELL-MODELL-RAVENS-OWNER-TO-SELL-49-STAKE-IN-TEAM.aspx?hl=Legg%20Mason&sc=0
  22. LOL - ESPN is on now and twisting up the statements that Bisciotti just made, much less the story and where was the guy with the story. He wasn't there. What a coward. Also, one of the major portions of the allegations was that AQ Shipley was with Rice at the time of the text ( while watching the Cincy home opener) and could confirm what they said. Prob was, Shipley was in Denver playing football for the Broncos at the time. ESPN scrubbed it from the story and have yet to issue any sort of formal correction. I am willing to bet that KVV is going to get called to the carpet on this. At least I'd hope. Also, Bisicotti was asked about the Forbes piece that said he could be forced to sell the team. He hadn't read the article but said I supposed that could happen but the NFL hasn't spoken to me yet. I didn't read the article but it's not like I'm really working hard 60 hours pr week. I have people doing that for me so if Im forced to leave I won't be out 60 hours. Another words, he's not worried about it. ILMAO - the franchise is worth $1.5B and he paid around $600M for it.
  23. I don't know what all of you watched but it wasn't the presser. Bicuit admitted to the mistakes. He said he wished he ordered the tape and forwarded to the NFL. He regrets he that he didn't. He can't be more honest than that. He also said Rice could return in the future to give talks to players and named others that were on addictions that they hired to speak to players. Bisciotti kicked ass today, ESPNs ass and they're running for cover. By admitting the mistakes the rest of his story is believeable. He has the truth on his side. He came out smoking and made the Ravens look good. Somebody here missed all that.
  24. LOL - Tucker wins the game with his FG with 1 sec left but Ravens lose w/o Jimmy Smith. They gotta sign him before Torrey who is having a horrible year in this offense. QBs are afraid to throw on Jimmy side. Even Big Jen threw his way 2 or 3 times last week and only once or twice vs Cincy. He even helped out on Green who caught the winning TD vs Brown who fell down. I posted this on another board. I just looked at Jimmy's saving TD tackle on Gabe Real. Unbelieveable. Gabe blows by #25 Jackson who froze a bit on the fake to West on the play action and cuts to the middle of the field on a double move. Jackson then breaks to his left the sideline. Elam moves over to the middle of the field but falls down-lol. Gabe makes the catch. He was so wide open he had to slow down a second to wait for the ball, catches it, falls down, gets back up he's so wide open, bounces around a guy or twoand runs down the sideline. Jimmy comes out of now where from the other side of the field and drags Gabe down from behind and was a little slow getting up perhaps because he was tired and wheezing at the 10 yd line with #25 Jackson coming up from the rear, too little and too late. Like I said, they keep going to the other side of the field from Jimmy. Jimmy saved the game on that one because Hoyer throws a TD soon afterward but is called back because he is over the los when he threw it. there were tons of mistakes and penalties by the Clowns that gave us the game which is why we still call them the Clowns with of course the biggest mistake was Billy being Billy and missing - AGAIN. West had a penalty on the trick play to Manziel for a long gainer that was called back but the play was illegal to begin with which the refs didnt call. But Jimmy's tackle saved the game. Nope, he's not being wasted and that looked like Cover 2to me with just Jackson and Elam on Gabe Real. I'll tell ya man, a 70'' wide screen is the way to watch a game. It's just like being there. I was at the water hole with my friends and missed the details I just describeduntil I watched the tape just now.
  25. ILMAO - I haven't seen that play since sand lot ball in jr hi school. It worked for us and won the game. All of us would be LOL if Ravens did it and it worked.
