  1. hes ahead of last year but not where the media was putting him after that Miami game (on Mahomes Tier). I think its harsh to say he cant read defenses. He made some great reads in the first two games and even the last two games that we lost. The Andrews Td vs AZ was a great read. The boykins TD was a good read. LJ is light years better than what Flacco have is the past few years - Im good with that. I will say that given our recent defensive struggles the coaching staff needs to reasses how they use Lamar. We may need to return to a ball control offense like we had last year despite Lamars growth as a passer.
  2. There are no easy wins with this defense. Miami was it
  3. The question is which movie did they see
  4. What are you referring to when you say he quit on the team? I think BB was a critical part of changing the culture to a team that expected to compete and embraced success. At the very least he was smart enough to embrace and amplify the swagger of a Ray Lewis. I would think a SB winning coach is a no brainer much less the first SB for the Franchise.
  5. OL has to be the priority. You can draft a stud at wideout but if the Oline pass protects like it did against SD it wont matter
  6. I guess this is why DeCosta said he wants to lock down players sooner
  7. Whoever it is needs to be able to pass a litmus test: show them a picture of the Bengals wr corps and tell them to locate #18
  8. He could have started rg3 and seemed the rookie not ready. He could have brought Flacco back
  9. Hell of an indictment on Marty and Harbaugh too
  10. I agree with this. I think he just needs time. He is a better passer than he gets credit for. As afar as backup, RG3 is perfect. Hes a good teammate, has experience doing similar things to what Jackson will do, still relatively young and I think has good value for what he can bring on the field. Like 82 said the offensive coaches can do the coaching on mechanics
  11. But Joe did get hurt and they did get into the playoffs so why wouldnt you factor that into the evaluation?
  12. You and I understand that, but there are many fans that dont.
  13. where the team was after 9 games isnt relevant when they ended 10-6.
  14. I was so disappointed in the booing I heard at the game. Jimmy Smith was compelled enough to confront fans behind the bench for calling for Flacco and Marlon Humphrey tweeted that it the game turned into an away game real fast. I guess realisticly with the fan base still split on loyalty between Lamar and Joe its not a shock that many in the homecrowd bailed on LJ. To me, Harbaugh absolutely made the right decision by keeping LJ in. No matter how the game finished (and John thinks his decision was validated by LJs play) you cant bailed on the rookie in favor of a guy whos leaving at the end of the season. Not to mention with as poorly as the line was playing Flacco would have likely struggled as well.
  15. Im satisfied with him coming back - hes earned it after this year. That said I think the most valuable coach on this team is Martindale. He is consistent and makes adjustments.
  16. Thanks I still havent seen the wire
  17. The line needs to be a priority especially the interior. Zeus Jr and Stanley had poor games, but Im ok going with them forward. I believe Hurst was beat so badly they benched him, Yanda is getting old and there is no telling how much longer we can count on him. Lewis is always hurt and Skura seems to be tough but is not good enough in pass protection. Jackson has good potential as a passer but not with pass rushers in his lap all day.
  18. Harbs deserves a lot of credit for the way the team has performed. Im glad he was able to get back the team back to 10 wins and back to the playoffs. Ive also gained a new appreciation for his leadership after watching Tomlins poor handling of the Antonio Brown drama. A lot of rumors abound about him still possibly leaving or being traded to this team or that team - probably just his agent trying to drive his price up. Wink - I cant say enough good things about him. Like many, I wanted Pees gone years ago but when Wink replaced him I was skeptical that a coach already on staff was going to be the answer. He has been nothing short of awesome.
  19. What do you guys expect out of this game. A lot of people are assuming the Chargers D getting a second look at Lamar will help them shut our offense down but we didnt really move them ball on them that well particularly in the 2nd half. A second look may benefit the Ravens O just as much of not more. I am obviously a little concerned about Rivers getting another chance vs the D, particularly after seeing what Mayfield accomplished
  20. Both negated a TD so not so different in terms of impact. That was 100% a make up call
  21. This team is changing the close but no cigar culture that has developed here in recent years. A lot of contributors deserve credit for stepping up but to me the two most responsible are Lamar and Wink. Wink for his aggressive approach that relentlessly attacks and keeps pressure on opposing offenses for 60 minutes. Lamar for coming up with a response seemingly every time we give up a big touchdown or start to see momentum switch to the other team.
  22. Not sure why this was necessary now. The only thing I can think was maybe the rumors were causing too much of a distraction but I didnt get that feeling (granted from the outside looking in). If anything it seemed like all the coaches were a little sharper with the job uncertainty
