  1. I was reading a Bengals fan forum after the game. Talk about hilarious. Nearly all of them say Ginger Dalton is a better QB, and if he isn't now he will be later for sure. It cracks me up because I remember reading about how great Carson Palmer was for so many years on their forums. They were talking about how many Super Bowls they would win with Palmer! One of them said Flacco can't handle the pressure. Laughable. He looked really worn down by the pressure when he stomped the Steelers at Heinz Field last year with an epic 2 min drive. Or when he threw the game winning pass to Lee Evans in the AFC Championship game. Sorry to state the obvious - but Bengal fans are idiots.
  2. 500k is beans to Bisciotti. This idiot still has a good chance of getting cut, and I hope it happens.
  3. I'm really happy about this. People who are saying, like goofy Drew from WNST, that he only had "one good year" are delusional. In 2010 he had a very good year. Coming into training camp last year I was shocked some people weren't projecting him as a starter.
  4. Brain - Preston is famous for that kind of stuff. He will state one thing and then weeks later state the reverse in an attempt to make the Ravens look bad in some way.
  5. Birk was terrible in the playoffs. It's reprehensible that we haven't drafted a center in years.
  6. It must really suck for Browns fans when they see the Bengals with an up and coming squad and they are still looking for players at damn near every position. Random - today I couldn't help but think of the great Savage trade that gave us Ngata. What an idiot.
  7. Rice has been killing it. Cundiff...not so much.
  8. There are a bunch of old men trying to get autographs, but there are also a bunch of people just coming out to see their team up close and personal for nothing more than the cost of some gas. Check out the new rookies, see the player interactions. There were always a ton of kids too who loved watching everything. At the very least it was something fun to do with the family. This is just terrible that they are cancelling this tradition. The Ravens have always done the right thing in terms of fan relations, maybe this is the beginning of the end :/
  9. Something else I learned today about seeding...apparently, even though we beat Houston, if there is a 3 way tie the first tie breaker is conference record, not head to head. Makes no sense, but it makes Houston the #1 seed as of today. I am not too worried overall except for if we tie New England and Pittsburgh at the end of the year, I guess our two wins against Pittsburgh are meaningless??? That sounds pretty stupid if you ask me.
  10. I am praying that Jan 1st game won't mean anything (in terms of wild card race anyway) for Cincy. That will help a little. At the end of the day though we handled Dalton pretty well, the game wouldn't have been that close if the Jimmy Smith/Defensive miscommunication doesn't happen. Winning out would be great...all of that momentum heading into the #1 seed/first round bye. Doesn't get any better than that. I will take the Ravens at home against anyone in the AFC. Given our track record this season though I am tempering my expectations.
  11. Well like I said, we've been screwed enough so it's nice to have a few go our way. The difference here is that the rule was correctly applied it's not like we got some obviously bogus call.
  12. There is a guy that sats around the 140s that always wears a Shannon Sharpe jersey. I haven't seen him this year though.
  13. Remember the black pants with the massive white stripe down the side? Good God. And praise the Lord that some guy sued the Ravens over that terrible flying B logo. And I was supposed to go to that event at the arena but my friends Dad could only get two tickets not the four he thought he could get.
  14. Was that when they came to the Baltimore arena? I'll have to bust out the Errict Rhett jersey and wear that next home game. Those old uni's were terrible, from the black pants/purple jersey combo to the flying B logo. Just awful all around. But I routinely got free tickets back then so it was all good!
  15. We've been robbed plenty of times by way more obviously bad calls than that. Plus when you watch the Gresham catch by the time he had control he was in the end zone meaning he had to maintain control the entire way for it to be considered a catch. If he had possession short of the end zone and then stuck the ball out over it would have been OK. https://www.youtube....h?v=rYxkeJNNSkw Watch the 1:00 mark very close. When he finally gets possession the ball is in the end zone, so it's just like if he were to be standing in the end zone while making the catch. When he slammed the ball on the ground at the end (1:14 mark) and it came out, quite obviously, it is no longer a catch.
  16. So you are saying if a receiver jumps in the air, gets "control" of the ball, falls down, the ball hits the ground and comes out, it should be a catch? This would dramatically change the game and favor the offense. Plus it brings up the point of what constitutes "control" as you put it? One hand on the ball near the body, two hands on the ball, ball held close to the body with fingertips, etc. You could go on all day, every official could have a different interpretation of what constitutes control. It's much easier to say the ball can't hit the ground at any point during the catch...whether its in bounds out of bounds in the end zone out of the end zone wherever. The difference with the RB is that he already HAS possession of the ball...so they say when his knee or hip or whatever is down the ground can't cause the fumble. The receiver is still in the act of possession.
  17. I know there is a lot of talk about getting a home playoff game. I am sure we are all well aware of the fact that under Harbaugh we haven't had one even though we have gone to the playoffs for three straight years. Given our play at home this is going to be critical if we want to make a Super Bowl run. The #2 seed will most likely be the Patriots and the #1 seed will most likely be the winner of the AFC North. Texans/West division winner will be 3/4 seeds. Here are the contenders and their schedules... Ravens - 8-3 - @CLE, IND, @SD, CLE, @CIN Steelers - 7-3 - @KC, CIN, CLE, @SF, STL, @CLE Patriots - 7-3 - @PHI, IND, @WAS, @DEN, MIA, BUF Texans - 7-3 - @JAC, ATL, @CIN, CAR, @IND, TEN I am guessing the Patriots will only lose one more game putting them at 12-4. Texans will lose a few more putting them at 11-5. For us, I don't know if winning out is realistic. San Diego won't be a gimme, neither will Cincinnati. I'd say 4-1 is likely putting us at 12-4. That leaves the Steelers. They have the easiest schedule remaining by far. The San Francisco game could basically decide the AFC North and the #1 seed, they HAVE to lose for us to tie them if we screw up and lose a game. I hope Harbs and company shares some intel.
  18. It seems pretty simple to me. You need to maintain possession all the way through the catch even if you go out of bounds. Why should out of bounds be any different than in bounds? Same with the end zone. If you catch it in the end zone you should have to maintain possession all the way through just like anywhere else on the field for it to be considered a TD.
  19. The difference with the Gresham call is that they said he didn't have complete control until after he was in the end zone which is why they ruled it incomplete since the ball obviously came out. A receiver who has already established possession can just put the ball over the goal line just like a RB can.
  20. I love watching games live, but with the economy and having kids the only way I go to games is when I get free tickets. Plus it seems lately the people going to the games are getting dumber and dumber. I almost saw a fight at the Thanksgiving game in the 1st quarter over absolutely nothing. The idiot Ravens fan wouldn't shut up he just kept trying to start a fight with a few 49ers fans. Of course the cops came up and everything. The whole thing was stupid. I used to dream of buying PSL's but not anymore. That will never happen for me. I am on the waiting list but I calculated it will be another 18 years before I am eligible to buy PSL's, maybe I will hit the lottery by then.
  21. I think the rule is good, they should have to maintain possession out of bounds. That is one of the few rules that favors the defense, so being a Ravens fan I hope they don't change it. Side note: I liked Jamie Dukes calling Flacco a "game manger" even after the 49ers win. So, so stupid.
  22. The last two weeks there have been calls that have brought on a lot of national media attention - the Gresham TD and the chop block against the 49ers. Both calls negated TD's in close games. Both calls probably could have went either way but happened to go our way. The national media has been talking about both extensively, especially the usual Raven haters (Dukes, Bayless, et al). It's funny, I don't remember them commenting on the numerous times we have been on the losing end of questionable calls. The Holmes TD in Baltimore...the Heap OPI in Cincy...the Gaffney TD during the Patriots undefeated season...etc. You could point out a ton more, but the point is I didn't hear any uproar when the Ravens weren't getting these calls. Being a small market team works against us in the media that is for sure.
  23. DVR is set...can't wait to watch that!
  24. In all fairness I did point out that the pitch to Rice probably would have worked if Dickson held his block. I don't think anyone would have had a problem if Cam had ran Leach up the middle and he got stuffed. The QB sneak on a great defense like that is just horrendous any way you look at it.
