  1. I think this article addresses some of what might/should be next while acknowledging the truth of what has been. I just need to hear others' observations and concerns to get this out of my system and let go for a while... I get the feeling some changes are coming; probably some big ones. It also sounds like KVV is signing off for good maybe, based on reading this. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2011/01/five_things_we_learned_in_the_ravens_3124_loss.html
  2. That's what I thought, I couldn't believe the holding call. But I also felt like Spen, at that point I figured Mo was way to the Gold side, and we were gonna blow it anyway. In the end there were just too many mistakes. The refs were everywhere, and were looking for things to call it seemed.
  3. Heap was good in as much as he was involved. which was not enough. I'm still perplexed as to why Rice was expected to carry as much he did and why our WRs were not thrown to more. Even if Taylor and other Steeler DBs were having great games they should have been challenged more. What did Boldin have, like 4 passes his way? Flacco was inaccurate many times and didn't seem too decisive when under pressure. We still have serious OL and protection scheme issues. this one hurts, and I wouldn't blame multiple veteran pro-bowl Ravens for cashing it in at this point. And yeah, where the heck was Stallworth? Why didn't we try WR bubble screens or end-arounds like they did?
  4. that being said, good luck at Foxboro, Preach.
  5. I say it was a weird game, but it was not a bad game overall for everyone, the steelers overcame their few mistakes and took control in the second half. they ran the ball when they needed to, and experimented enough with the pass to figure out how to burn us. The Ravens never established their deep passing game, kept trying to run Rice when he clearly was not up to it, could not keep up with the speed of the steelers WRs, and made some really bad mistakes in the 2nd half. I'm not even talking about the turnovers, but not adjusting and making bad penalties, and not covering correctly in the secondary at times killed us.
  6. That play was inexcusable, they should have had protection set to get at least a chance for a few yards on that play... And TJ drops one...; bad for him. But worse for the Ravens for not passing enough to Boldin and TJ to begin with. That's ridiculous; so is blowing a 14 point lead and not being able to do anything offensively in the second half. Dierdorff is calling the Ravens' 2nd half 'disastrous', and I can't disagree, as much as I don't like him. The Ravens did nothing to take advantage of their weapons. this is as hard a loss as we've endured.
  7. OMMFG HOW DO THEY NOT PLAN FOR THAT ON A 3-AND-19?!!!
  8. What the heck happened to Cundiff's great kickoffs? Must be Heinz field. We need a TO big time here. Or at least a 3nOut.
  9. F***, now we have to take the FG and hope the D can stop Ben & Co. OMG and the new OT rules?! I am not looking forward to these next 5 minutes. Dude, no time like the present for a career-HOF-defining play from one of our pro-bowl D-men. It MUST happen!
  10. Good Lord we needed that 3nOut, now we have got to get a TD on this drive or the Ravens go home, and NOT for the AFCCG.
  11. WHY THE HELL IS OHER NOT GETTING HELP WITH HARRISON?!
  12. yeah, and now they're RUNNING?! please use the receivers so we can say we TRIED
  13. Great play by wilson earlier, huge play by Suggs now. Lord if we keep them to 3 we still need some offense. ugh....
  14. And now Flacco fumbles. Holy crap.
  15. How the heck can we not have a single guy open there?
  16. OMG ugh, what a horrible pass. Just give the Steelers 7 already and save some time.
  17. I know we're backing them up now but I'm really worried about Wilson being on an island v. that young guy Sanders; at least Landry was over helping on that last play. And the steelers are doing anything they can to get Sanders and Wallace and their speed into the game. Mattison will have to adjust for that the rest of the game, that could break us in one play.
  18. That was a horrible 3nOut. Horrible. The last thing we needed and exactly what Pittsburgh and their fans wanted.
  19. Alright, NOW it's on Cam Cameron and Joe Flacco. The D has given them this now 7-point lead, the O has to take back control of this game. Leave Rice back to block and get Boldin, Heap involved.
  20. Damn, not a good time or position for Rice to fumble. Good lord.
  21. I don't know if they told Redding to pick up the ball or if he did that himself, but they definitely saw him pick it up and pushed him along; it almost looked like Redding was going to pick up the ball and toss it to a ref or something at first.
  22. LOL shannon sharpe just called out Ray-Ray "Sugar bear, only 30 minutes left!" He's definitely feelin' purple right now while Cowher and Marino are probably shittin' their own pants while telling Ben and Pittsburgh to 'not panic'. Steelers definitely have the ability to come back if they can protect Ben but they have yet to do that, except on that last drive with Suggs out for a couple plays. keep pressuring! keep passing!
  23. Unlikewise, the steelers are making uncharacteristic mistakes; they rarely fumble. Ravens have to hold here under 2:00, we can't give them the chance at consecutive scoring drives.
  24. Suggs is going crazy, they have NO answer for him! Blood in the water!!
