  1. Raven football is back after 6 LONG months. Let the games begin. I am jacked and ready.
  2. I was there too. First game I ever saw. Brooks hit that fly ball to right center. Mantle got a standing ovation by Oriole fans.
  3. Max- a win over Denver would be a great way to start the season.
  4. I've predicted the Ravens in the superbowl, but that doesn't mean by having a 12-4 or better record. I'm guessing 11-5 and off to the playoffs. Denver? I think it's a loss. Sorry, but we are slow out of the gate, while Broncs are fast. Peyton will be fresh and strong, and injury free. Remember the last opening game at Denver? Embarrassing. Not that this will be, but I just don't see a win. Playoff game vs. Denver- much different story, especially if the game is at the Bank. I see a 4-3 mark after 7 games and then we kick arse the rest of the way for a 11-5 AFCN winner. Then, dancing in the streets of south Baltimore.
  5. Absolutely. Ravens have, what, second best ratio of win/losses at home in the NFL. The Bank is an intimidating place to play, especially in a playoff venue. Locking up this division is crucial this year and they have the talent level to do that and much more.
  6. Carry on my wayward friend.....
  7. Plenty of time fellas. Plenty of time.
  8. Nah, Crave. It was so nice, he posted it twice.
  9. I never saw that Preston article, but it was the first thing I told my wife when I saw Maxx at practice on Sunday.. He's big but has no real muscualr definition. Crockett and Boyle are monsters.
  10. I forgot to mention in my other thread that Kendick Lewis looked very good . So did Will Hill. You got to kind of feel bad for Matt Elam, as everybody was selling him as 'reborn" and in great shape. Hey, it's the NFL. Shite happens, next man up.
  11. As you know, Perryman did not particpate, which was disappointing, but overall, all of them did well. No standouts. I was very impressed with Flacco's zip and accuracy. The backs all looked impressive as well, especially Taliferro and Buck Allen. Harbaugh grabbed the humor of the day on special teams practice. After grabbing the punted kick, Coach ran at him wailing his arms and screaming like a banshee. This is a special football team, I am convinced of it.
  12. Camp is nothing I will ever go to again. It was bad. Not players, but the Ravens people who were in charge of getting these 1200 or more people to the site. It was a collossal failure. After parking our car on the lot at 3PM, we got onto the back of this 1/2 mile long line with thousands of people in front of us.It took 45 minutes of baking in the sun to move to the front where a grand total of 3 or 4 staff members checked my ID with my photo on it. Next, another lady took the names of the four guests I had with me. Next, we had to get into another long line so the keystone cops there could scan our outstretched bodies while later, another patted us down. Next, we waited some more, then got on a bus and were driven to the players site. Practice started at 4PM. We got to our bleacher seats at around 4:45PM. At practice, it was clear that all they were trying to do was to take a close look at each player to see who goes and who stays. I will say this though. Flacco's arm is golden. He throws a perfect spiral pass everytime and it looks effortless. #2 Renner threw much better than Matt Schaub, I thought. Maxx Williams is a big boy, but is going to have to kick it in the weight room. He's got to put on some more muscle to compete in this league, otherwise he's going to take that one big hit that does him in. Overall, I loved watching these players go at it up close and personal, but hated the experience getting to the fields. The Ravens PR and hospitality teams screwed this up big time. They need to improve drastically. Report card: Players and coaches- B+ Ravens staff- F
  13. Notice I said 23. Mean anything? That's right -the road to the superbowl. 4 exhibition games-+ 16 regular season games- (1 playoff bye-)+ 1 playoff game- +1 AFC championship game-and 1 superbowl victory= 23 games. And it all starts next Thursday. BTW, I won a lottery to go to the Castle and watch practice at 4PM tommorrow. I will report my observations.
  14. T-Bird. You make it sound so easy. Good job. A real fan.
  15. Yeah, we are all pretty lucky to have the two owners that we have in Baltimore. Now give me three seconds to duck...
  16. Throwing water on your fire? Man he just put it out!
  17. That has got to be the best thing Preston has ever said about the Ravens. High praise indeed. He knows this is a damn good football team. There is also one other point to make. I'll call it the Nado-point. - We have a real tough schedule. I believe that we are still better than every team we play, but alot of these games will be tough, physical match ups. Come playoff time, the Ravens are going to be battle tested and battle ready. And you know what that means.
  18. A Harvard law student, with a penchant toward football statistics, has made an amazing NFL prognostication. Based on his formula that giving every player on both sides of the football a numerical rating based on talent, he has prdicted that the Dolphins and Seahawks will be in the next superbowl. Based on the totality of his findings, the Baltimore Ravens are the 28th ranked team in the league. And based on his findings, I LMAO! Stick to the law Bud.
  19. That's the exact same thing I thought.
  20. After two years as a bust, can he be that guy this year? If Elam was the player taken # 1 that the Ravens thought he was, than why wasn't he? Pure and simple, it comes down to one word. Talent. I hope I'm wrong, but am not counting on him. You either got it or you don't. Every now and then, the Ravens miss one. Matt Elam, I believe, was one of those. He's a good guy and I truly hope I'm wrong. Agree or disagree?
  21. T.C. starts in about 9 days and our first game of the season (exhibition) starts in 26 days. Not long after that, the weather cools, the leaves turn red, and we're enroute. Ain't the beer cold.
