But more seriously, classic case of not understanding privilege above. First and foremost, I couldn't care less about who is offended if anyone. I care much more about what is simply and plainly right. The term is and was a racial slur traditionally used in a derogatory manner. We don't get to just decide otherwise.
A friend on here once argued that, "when I hear redskin I don't even think of native Americans anymore " ... Therefore the term doesn't matter and we can move on.
It would be nice if history and morality worked that way, but they plainly do not. What that statement reflects is really the sentiment that, "I forgot my past transgressions, so should everyone else." It's a hoax and a fallacy. In fact, what that really represents is that we clearly do not even engage our understand our own past week enough.
Personally I think we should all think of the atrocities committed against native Americans every time we hear that word. Instead we run from it. We get to say, "oh it doesn't matter!" Ignoring the term's past is a privilege of not having to face the consequences of it because, well, we are in charge. But ignoring the terms meaning is mainly us covering our own asses and the truth of our history of destroying those cultures.
Comparable to "whiteskins?" False on many levels. It's more comparable to using anti Semitic terms and saying, "oh I didn't know these were offensive anymore!"

Two times he told the locker room that they could do what they wanted he was getting paid anyways. He said it the first time the yr before McNair got here and the last yr. Short a video at the castle with him saying it it is known. I have read different press say he said it local to national and also a player all but said it happened in an interview.
Never heard of such a thing.....But I'm sure many successful coaches have said things they regret, that doesn't define their over all body of work.
He's got the ring, and bragging rights to the greatest D of all time and a 2000 + yard RB .....Along with the money he got paid anyway.....

Didn't hurt us any tho and the only embarrassment was for Cody who backed him so hard and talked him up. You do have to follow your heart, that's true but it wasn't a smart move to kill any chance of a career. He should've stayed away another yr. His loss and he lost weakly. SMH

At least he didn't waste the teams time at training camp. My guess is his heart was never really in football. If it were me I'd wing it for a few more years and make a couple extra million.
Doesn't surprise me at all, he quit during his conditioning test......That can't be good, and if a player will give up during an uncontested drill, what would you expect during real football.....I think the guy has a few screws loose.....

Ward has been said to be a better fit for us than Dix from the reports I've heard so it's very probable.....

I don't really know the guy. That's why I was asking. Like you I thought he might fit in as a temporary RT for a year or two giving Ozzie more latitude in the first round of the draft. But, maybe Oz is going to definitely go with a young drafted T. I'd be tempted to take one of the top OT's over Clinton-Dix.
It will definitely be an interesting first round. The Ravens will likely have a lot of options.
I think he will take the OT in the first according to a lot of mocks they think we will and Ward in the second even if we have to move up a little to get him....I'm anxious to see how it all shakes out myself....

You are comically stereotypical of the modern definition of an anonymous internet user. Someone is doing their best to logically and meaningfully explain something to you, and he means well by it--not to mention that his argument is the only one based in fact or any real evidence of intellectual common sense, but I'm not choosing sides. Your response is to attempt to invalidate his by calling him names, blowing off what he has to say, and/or telling him that because you have an opinion, it holds as much weight in truth as his; I can with near certainty predict that you'll respond to my post in the same way, if at all.
I know being typecast as a tough guy from the streets who don't need no education is what you're looking for, but taking a psychology class at your local community college would probably be overwhelmingly beneficial to you, if what you feel and think is true to yourself and not just your internet facade. It would help you understand that other people sometimes have more well-versed thoughts, and that that's okay.
