  1. @jamisonhensley: Louisville's Calvin Pryor is the clear-cut No. 2 safety in the draft behind Alabama's Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Pryor will go in the first round, and it wouldn't be a reach for the Ravens to take him at No. 17. My impression of Pryor is that he's more of a strong safety type because of his hard-hitting style. He has the ability to play center field, but his strength is being a thumper in run support. The Ravens can get Northern Illinois' Jimmie Ward, the best coverage safety in the draft, in the second round. Ward is a better fit for what the Ravens need.

Cody had elbow and hip surgeries during the offseason last year, which hampered him throughout the offseason. He indicated he's fully healthy now and doesn't need to have any surgical procedures.

"I can be a lot better now that I'm full-go and actually healthy for the first time in a while," Cody said. "It's going to be a lot of good things this year."

What, has he been injured since he arrived here ? Because he has stunk since day one !!....Don't get this one at all.. :nono: , must be a relative or something....
  3. I ain't mad at you guys. It's sports and opinions. If it gets too personal for me, I just don't comment.

School I was talking about the questions I posed on if you would trade him for the 31st pick in this yr's draft.

I know he's our number one because he's in the slot. But on more than half the teams in the league he'd be the number 1.

He's never going to be Megatron.

It's your opinions my fellow Ravenites. You guys need to see more. I think you will this season. I'm seeing it already but that's me. I'm not Cravn positive but I am a glass half full guy and maybe that's why. Torrey ascends into everyone's top 10 this yr and pro bowler

The answer to that is NO, I wouldn't trade him for a #17 pick, there's no assurance that any of these guys are gonna be as good as him at the pro level and we know what we got in him....I agree with Crav on this one though, that drafting another good prospect would enhance TS's game for the future, because Steve will be here 1-2 yrs if he can continue to produce......I got high hopes for Marlon too though. he reminds me of Plax, just hope he don't shoot himself in the leg like he did, lol....

  4.

You can't ask for better as a fan. Anything more is just unrealistic expectations.

Max, you forgot to put level headed in front of fan....You know most aren't, and when Joe misses a pass, they want to bench him, if Harbs makes a bad decision, fire him, if Ozzie picks a player that don't pan out, replace him and if Biscuit doesn't step in and over rule everyone, he needs to sell the team....Wonder what this team would look like if the fans made the decisions....

  5. He could be here just to help teach the offense. Think about it this way. Kubs is not allowed to work with Joe and the other guys until camps. So if Joe is going to get guys together to throw around you have this guy who knows the offense and can help teach it to the guys there.

Makes sense, and I'm sure Daniels knows it well, but not sure about this guy, remember Kubes cut him in Texas.

  6.

Like I said he is a camp body. He more than likely will not make the 53 man roster.

He sure has stunk it up so far, but Harbs said he has very good hands, so he could be used for returns and some plays out of the backfield...

He does have to make the team though, no promises...

  7. I read where Harbs said he's here for special teams play and some situational plays, but no guarantee he will even make the team and they are still looking to get a RB either in the draft or late cuts....That made me feel better..

  8. I'm like this the more I research it... yet their is an "IF" to this. If he comes back healthy and hasn't lost a step and "IF" both of them can stay healthy.

I like your thinking tgann.....on the match-up nightmare. Factor this in too....What if Ray Rice becomes the receiving threat that he used to be....if he's not wearing prison stripes.

He's not going anywhere but to the Time Out chair for 2-4 games.....Book it !!

Justin Forsett.... not much to talk about... Come on Oz I wanted LB!

    5'8 195lbs spent one year with Kube's

    -------

The Ravens have signed running back Justin Forsett to a one-year deal.
Baltimore was looking to add to its running back corps this offseason. Ray Rice’s recent legal troubles, which could lead to a suspension, also a consideration, according to Head Coach John Harbaugh. Forsett joins Rice and Bernard Pierce.
Forsett, 28, is a 5-foot-8, 194-pound quick back. The former 2008 seventh-round pick out of the University of California is entering his seventh season and will be joining his fifth team.
He spent the 2012 season with the Houston Texans and new Ravens Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak, which gives him an understanding of Kubiak’s system that he can help pass along to the other running backs.
With the Texans in 2012, Forsett ran 63 times for 374 yards (a career-high 5.9 yards per carry) and one touchdown, an 81-yard score. He caught three passes for 38 yards.
Forsett spent 2013 with the Jacksonville Jaguars after inking a two-year deal. Playing through injuries, he suited up for just nine games and had a career-low six carries for 31 yards. He was placed on injured reserve in December with a broken foot and released on March 11.
Forsett also has some pass-catching ability, although he didn’t do much of it in Houston. While with the Seattle Seahawks from 2008-2011, he was frequently used out of the backfield. He hauled in 41 passes for 350 yards and one touchdown in 2009.

Oh how I was wishing someone got their dates mixed up and was doing the April Fool's gag.....This guy is atrocious, never done anything, Kubes cut him and Jacksonville did too....Ozzie must have bumped his head, man....I'd rather have Willis back on the end of his career than another one of these dumpster RB's that he keeps bringing in here.....He said he wanted a bruiser and went out and got a midget, not even a good one at that....I am totally confused and disgusted with this total waste of time....

Someone said he could help teach Kube's system but he didn't learn it well enough to keep his job then and that is the coach's job isn't it ?

  10. All that is true but even rating this 6 guys ahead of him and maybe a couple more still means he's around 9th to 12th best in a league of 64 outside guys. That's up there. Take into account how bad the offense was and that he still put up the best numbers we've seen from the position since Michael Jackson. He needs more TDs but Joe had a horrible yr. No time to throw and no running game to speak of.

And you didn't answer my questions.

I see a guy that I wouldn't trade. I see a guy to build my passing game around. I see a guy who makes plays and can take games over. I see a number 1.

I may be the only one at this party but he's going to prove to you that many more should be here with me.

I thought I did answer your question BG.....You raise a valid point, and I'm with you on the part of him being better than a lot of other wr's in the game and that he will be a #1.....But just because a team has a wr at the #1 spot doesn't mean that he's actually playing at that level....Look how many yrs we went 2's and 3's.....Someone was always in that #1 spot regardless of how bad they were.....Torrey is the best wr we've had maybe ever, with MJ being the only comparison....Quadry was knocking on it's door but I don't think ever got there....Hey I'm on his side brother, I want him to be Turbo Megatron, we just see it a little different, but we're after the same thing....Go Ravens..

  11. Smith and Daniels aren't core players. No more than 2 yrs for both in Bmore. Smith may see his eventual replacement on the roster this yr

Exactly, especially Daniels......Steve will be used to get the heat off of Torrey and if it don't, he is still crafty and fast enough to hurt them....Q wasn't fast either but he found a way, and I'm absolutely sure Steve can do the same or better....Daniels is just a rest for Pitta and to help them learn Kube's system......But our Offense is not leaning solely on them, we have plenty of fire power now and with the Oline getting beefed up, Joe will have time to find them more often then not....

  12. Ok P. I don't agree because all those guys have disappeared in a game here or there outside of Megatron and Julio. AJ is in our division and in the game where he caught that Hail Mary to send it into overtime, he was essential shut down up until that flukey catch off the tip.

And outside of Megatron and Bryant, who else had to do it without the benefit of capable players around them? I have to throw Gordon in that category too, he doesn't have much.

I really respect your opinions because even when I don't agree, they usually get me thinking or seeing a different angle but this one has me stumped. I don't see why you can't see it.

I see it. I guess he still has to prove it to some. I hope we lock him up now because if he gets to market, we'll pay out the nose to keep him or else.

I'll ask you this, do you want to see him on another team? Would it hurt our fortunes significantly if he was traded for...say Denver's 1st rd pick this yr?

I definitely want him signed and on our team, make no mistake of that.....But I don't see him as a true #1 at this point....Yes even Megatron got handled by us last yr in 1 game, but unlike TS, he showed up big in most of the other games....I can't recall 1 outstanding game TS showed up in last yr....He had his moments and did fairly well, but not outstanding, and that's what is expected of a true #1.....I still believe he will be one, and yes better players around him will help make that happen, I just haven't seen it at that level yet....I love the guy, but that's the way I see it.

  13. I think most Raven fans know this. It is the fans of other teams that don't understand, and some of the media.

Some still blame him for losing Q and some others....When you see the comparison to other qb's in black and white, it registers better....

I thought it was interesting to note that Brady is so underpaid and Eli is so overpaid, and does anyone believe that all those guys getting more money than him are even in his class, except for Peyton and Rogers ?....

  14. Biggest Misconception Of Flacco’s Contract

Joe Flaccoicon-article-link.gif’s $120 million contract hurts the Ravens’ ability to sign free agents. Right?

    Wrong.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley says this false notion is the “biggest misconception” of Flacco’s $120 million contract.

That’s especially true when you look at 1) the amount of cap space the Ravens had heading into free agency compared to other teams and 2) how his 2014 cap number compares to other quarterbacks in the league.

The Ravens burst through the free agency doors in March with more than a reported $24 million at their disposal. That ranked as the 11th-most salary cap space among all 32 teams. And remember, among the 10 teams ranked ahead of the Ravens were perennial low-spenders who rarely come anywhere close to spending to the cap limit, including the Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

Flacco’s reported $14.8 million cap number for 2014 isn’t even the highest on the team. That distinction belongs to defensive tackle Haloti Ngataicon-article-link.gif, who is reportedly scheduled to make $16 million.

Baltimore was hardly cap-strapped, even with their franchise quarterback on the payroll.

Flacco’s 2014 cap number is not that high compared to other quarterbacks. It doesn’t break the top-10 threshold. He’s No. 11 (tied with Tom Brady) and it’s hard to rank much lower considering most of the rest of the league is searching for a franchise quarterback or their franchise signal-caller is still playing on a rookie contract.

Of those that rank ahead of Flacco, half have not won a Super Bowl. Below is a look at the top 14 quarterback cap numbers, per ESPN:

    Quarterbacks 2014 Cap Numbers
    Eli Manning $20.4M
    Ben Roethlisberger $18.89M
    Jay Cutler $18.5M
    Drew Brees $18.4M
    Sam Bradford $17.61M
    Aaron Rodgers $17.55M
    Matt Ryan $17.5M
    Peyton Manning $17.5M
    Philip Rivers $16.66M
    Matthew Stafford $15.82M
    Joe Flacco $14.8M
    Tom Brady $14.8M
    Carson Palmer $12M
    Tony Romo $11.77M

  15. He's a situational player at best....but it is some depth, if he's not limping around for 2/3rds of the season like Stokely and Clark.

You think Ozzie may be bringing him in as insurance, so that what happened last yr will never catch us off guard again ?

And to help our TE's to grasp the Rubik's Kube's system ?

He is no better at blocking than Pitta, but Furstenberg is....

  16. You know West weighs 225, though. He's short, true, but powerful.

I thought it was 215 but 235 would be minimum for a bruiser, and we saw what happend to Rice when he went up to 225.....Running thru tackles is not those little guys game, it's slip or bounce off but never run thru....I miss Jamaal, that's my kind of RB, he'd run over, thru or bust you up til you got out of his way.....He was getting his yards, one way or the other.....

  17. Not only Dalton but AJ Green and Burfict also all 3 are going to want paydays, see how Mikey reacts..

I'm still ticked at Ozzie for not getting Burfict, he went undrafted because of off field problems, we could have took him with the last pick, I don't even know who that was.....But Ozzie sure missed one there.....

  18. It would not be a bad idea to trade picks from next yr to get more this yr.

That seems to be what NE does a lot. Compiles a load of picks so they can maneuver all over the board during the draft....He always seems to have a boat load of picks.....Somebody needs steal his formula ....Draft Gate....lol
