You say that, and then we go and resign an Edgar Jones. Is there any better way to describe him than "another body"? (A body that can fill in at 7 or 8 different positions is still a body...) Perhaps you were referring to corners only? In which case, who exactly are all the bodies that we're stacking up at that position?

There's two ways of looking at this. Since it's a game against Rex Ryan's Jets we're talking about, the game is guaranteed to go 12 rounds and leave everyone involved injured. On 3-days rest, the risk of injury is increased on both sides, and I'm not sure that a few extra days of rest afterwards will make up for it.

Like with Stallworth, if the guy still has some speed and quickness, then you go after him. At the very least, he could contribute as a returner (like an upgraded version of Carr).

Anyone who doesn't have NFL network?
-
Kruger needs to get toughness? The guy was stabbed in the face nine times, and lived to tell about it. (I may be slightly off on the details, but he's a tough guy.)
-
No, this is a very - very - big deal.

Maybe at the beginning of the season, but Orton's job certainly isn't safe over there. Most likely, Josh McDaniels is hoping that Quinn will turn out more like the other Brady that he coached in New England. I doubt they're looking at him as just a 'capable backup'.

They swap hubcaps at the flea market? And yeah, this is pretty crazy. Now add Denver to the list of teams that have no idea what they're doing at QB next season...
-
Maybe you cannot win with them, but can you play with them? Can you coach with them? Can you do it?

I guess "anybody-to-Moss" could apply there. I could've thrown a few TD to Moss over a 16 game season.
-
Wait, so is Steve Smith going with him to Cleveland, or not? Because I don't know if I can think of a QB over the last 10 years who owes his success to a single receiver more than Delhomme.
-
Aren't we worried at all that Boldin's aggressive attitude may clash with Mark Clayton's leadership style? Because Clayton is the clear leader of this offense, and this could be viewed as Boldin infringing on his territory.

I heard Anquan Boldin's face actually came off at one point.

I think we should draft a center in the first round, unless a CB, DE, WR, TE, or LB falls to us.

I forgot all about that guy. Does he still play in the NFL?

The Big Question: Is Ravens' offense elite?
SpearSrai replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I'm glad there's a rift, because that means Flacco isn't ignorant to the situation, and that he is seeing the same stuff that we're seeing. Cam is apparently the only one who doesn't get it. -
Most of the names are absolutely not being released. Come on... the chances of Vernon Gholston being ousted after two seasons is less than none.
-
Way to start thinking ahead, guys.... The fact-of-the-matter is, half of our team could end up on IR by the end of the season, because most of our guys have injury concerns. But hey, maybe we'll get lucky and only 1 or 2 of our best players will be out for most of the season... :-/

I wish I actually knew if we were targeting anyone specific, and who. As it stands, in my mind we're not going to sign anyone who isn't one of our own free agents, but that's only because there's no news to speculate on.

No one's swaying me, because my argument has nothing to do with the 'best football move'. I'd trade everybody on the team if it would get us 10 picks in the first round. I get more excited leading up to the draft than even during the playoffs, because you can't lose the draft. (I know, I know... Oakland attempts to prove this theory wrong every year.) But if you want a legitimate argument, and especially Gaither is going to cost us big money during future salary-cap years due to the fact that he has played left tackle in the past, and you believe that Oher will make a better left tackle, then you let Gaither go if there is a first rounder dangled in front of you, and you make right tackle your #1 priority. This does not mean that you have to take the right tackle in the first round. You can still use both picks on BPA's. But you must come out of the draft and/or free agency with a legitimate, mauling, right tackle, and it cannot be a 5th-round-developmental player. Our two first rounders could be a starting DE, WR or CB, provided there isn't a BPA tackle available. If you resign Mason or Dwan Edwards, then it will also give you added flexibility.

Too bad he doesn't play corner... we'd be all over that action.

The Broncos apparently said they will take nothing less than a 1st for him; otherwise, they'll go into the season with Marshall on the roster. I don't know if they're being truthful or not, but if the price comes down to anything we would give up, someone else will step in and grab him first. I think we all know that Mason is going to resign, and considering the fact that he and Flacco have now spent two seasons working together, that's obviously our best option. No use having to develop a chemistry with two new receivers when Flacco-to-Mason is already a successful combination. We're just giving Mason a chance to feel out the market... I don't see any way we let him get away.

Jim Tressel is reportedly interested in making an offer for Troy, since Pryor is suffering from a knee injury. No details yet as to what Ohio State would be offering as compensation, though. I'm speculating, but I bet it includes a box of sweater vests.

So now that we know Bannan signed a 5 year deal for $22 mil, we can sign someone to that type of deal?

We've actually had incredible success drafting offensive linemen high in the draft. The only three linemen we have taken in the first round are all (will be) Pro-Bowlers, and at least one is a hall of famer. We've had bigger needs to fill over the years, but we could definitely get a strong RT in the draft if we needed one, and an extra first would give us that flexibility. Especially if we trade down at all.
