Juniors are the new Seniors. That was an unintended consequence of the rookie pay scale. If you are draftable you come out early and get a jump start on that second contract where the real money is going to be found.

I guess I will actually have to watch the half time show

The wheels on the bus go round and round

lol, Was Drew Brees the driver of the other vehicle? He would do anything for a win. -
What do you guys think Joe is worth then? You say he is overpaid but haven't said what he deserves to be paid. Make sure you include inflation (the cap has been rising and will continue to rise over the next couple of years with all the new TV deals etc.)

I only see 4 more wins. All 3 home games we should win but I just can't see us winning more than 1 more road game the rest of the way. I'm normally the optimist but the team is just so inconsistent when on the road that going 1-2 seems realistic at this point.

Investment at quarterback doesn't always pay off in postseason
RavenMad replied to papasmurfbell's topic in NFL General
I agree. At least we invested in a QB that can win in the playoffs and take a team to a Superbowl. I bet a lot of the NFL owners would give their left nut to be able to invest in that kind of QB, -
True it's only 1 game against a poor team but you can only beat or in this case cover what is in front of you. He played well against a poor team but it would have been worse for us if he hadn't played well against a poor team. If he plays well again in 2 weeks time then great.

And to think we all looked at Forsett as a guy who was brought in to basically help the other RBs learn Kubiak's system fill in while Rice was suspended and then likely be cut upon Rice's return. What a couple of months it has been for this guy. I like his attitude as well. He recently said that every carry he gets is an opportunity he didn't think he was going to get and that he tries to make the most out of every touch. At 29 I guess every touch could be his last but with so little miles on the clock he can probably go another 3+ years.

So what you are saying is identify a college freshman to lead your team and then tank a season 2, 3 or 4 years in to the future to make sure you get him. You sir are a fucking idiot and we all get a little dumber reading the shit you spout daily. Sure once in a while you say something intelligent but then a broken clock is also correct twice a day so you do have that going for you. SMH.

While that is true, worse would be doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Brown and Franks were toast. Might as well take a shot on some other guys and see if they can do any better. You never know what you might unearth.

lol, this reminds me of a thread on another site where people blamed Joe for random stuff like:

It's funny that you bring up coaching. I'm not sure that the coaching is entirely the problem. I think the league and players f'ed up when they agreed to a limited number of practices and practice time etc. That has reduced how prepared some players are to play especially the backups who would benefit the most from coaching. Repetition is how you learn and memorize anything and players just aren't getting the same reps anymore. Plus these players are getting paid a full time salary, get yourself into work and you know do some work. Not being able to be in contact with coaches during the offseason is a complete joke.

I have to say I do agree with some of what you said but have found a better way to watch the game at least for me in the UK. RedZone is the way forward. I don't get commercial breaks with RedZone. It flicks between all the games when teams get in scoring range. It shows you a big play if it happens to get a team into scoring range. It will show you replays of all the scores. I will watch the Ravens game and then flick to redzone as soon as it goes to commercial. For primetime games like the Steelers game I don't even bother staying up anymore. I just watch it the next day on Game Pass which allows me to watch commercial free (which is amazing). They also have a condensed broadcast in Game Pass which allows me to watch an entire game condensed into 60minutes which comes without replays and commercials. Really good if you want to watch some other games but don't want to spend 3 hours or just watch the highlights. I can't agree with you on the officiating though. If you think the NFL refs are bad then watch any game that involves Pac-12 officials and then you will appreciate what a fine job NFL officials do. The officiating is ruining college ball for me more than it's ruining the NFL.

The offense is still hard to get a read on. The O-Line looks good one week and then sucks the next. Joe holds the ball too long but then he has no receivers open or can't trust them to be in the right spot if he attempts to throw them open. Whether that is a scheme thing or the receivers suck is up for debate. The thing that worries me the most though is our weak ass secondary. FFS one of our safeties was getting pushed around by a kicker and punter and crying to the refs about it at the end of the Steelers game. That's all you need to know about the "character" of our secondary. Outside of Jimmy and Webb I don't see anyone else that plays like a Raven at least not yet. I still hold out hope for Elam and maybe Brooks gets it going (he is only a rookie) but I don't see any leadership back there and that is a huge problem. Part of me was proud that at least the D had a bit of fight about them and I thought some of the penalties against the Steelers where a bit egregious on behalf of the refs but the other part of me thinks Harbaugh needs to get a hold of that shit. He should have been getting the guys to calm down. I think he is gone at the end of the season. Too many whispers about him flirting with the Michigan Wolverines last offseason and then the stuff with Ray Rice. He didn't appear to tow the party line and I'm sure he wasn't too happy about being thrown to the media wolves all by himself. I could see a "mutual" parting of the ways this offseason and I'm sure Brady Hoke is getting the chop so that job will be available. He can go reunite with his boy Mattison and his "prevent nothing" D. Onto Ozzie and I think he made a huge mistake not taking a CB reasonably early in last year's draft. There is a lot of work to be done this offseason and I'm not sure that Ozzie is the man to do it. Again, I don't think he towed the party line over the Ray Rice issue and although he still has more hits than misses, the failure to ever draft a #1 WR has been a major issue holding back this offense. Having to trade or pick up vets to fill the role has worked but never been a long term solution (Boldin and Smith Snr). Mason filled the role but was a possession guy that was never a true #1.

Fingers crossed the Ravens are in 1 of the 5 next season and I'll be there. I'm still not convinced a London franchise will work but if they sell out 5 games next season and then 8 the following season you can probably expect to see a London franchise in 2017. London Jaguars come on down.
-
The D is getting those calls against them so has to work both ways. Like I said I thought it was harsh but I have seen much worse called.
-
You give up the draft for a WR and you become the Atlanta Falcons. No thanks.
-
It was harsh but it was the right call.
-
I have been very critical of him in the past but I guess his bend but don't break D was there because he didn't want to over blitz and expose the weak secondary. Now he has Webb rounding into form and a really good FS in Hill he just unleashed the hounds and it looks really good. I'm looking forward to the rematch with Cinci now. We win that one and we really get a strangle hold on the AFC North.

All the reports I have seen are PH is a piece of shit and locker room cancer. He gave Golden Tate a black eye before the superbowl and then when Wilson chewed him out he snapped and tried to fight with his QB. So he should fit right in with the train check in NY.

Happy Birthday! Have a great day.

They just tied with the Panthers at home! Injuries are starting to mount. If they make the playoffs it will be another 1 and done.
